And, it looks like she totally lipsynched (once more) her performance of Touch My Body.
Maybe it's just something Mimi does in Europe??? That's one of the theories lambs have been telling us.
We kinda expect more from Mariah, though.

I've never seen Mariah sing live here on a tv show in Europe. She's recording a sort of live version in the Studio and mimes it in the show. I've even seen Kylie Minogue doing that on the MTV europe music awards a few years ago. So you here a 'live' version being lipsynced, that's why it sounds different from the record.
Anyway, Mariah song is terrible, in any way she sings it.
Most of you are most definitely deaf. Shes 100% lip synching… And I like Mariah, atleast the old Mariah pre her Hip Hop garbage. Shes NOT the best anymore thats definitely a fact. Her voice is nowhere near what it once was which obviously has to do with singing for so long but someone like Leona Lewis wipes the floor with her.
Mariah does NOT have a great voice anymore. Its not even really that good anymore. I've seen too many just terrible performances from her. Unfortunante, but fact. She was the best when she was singing shit like 'Hero' and had those amazing pipes. This generic shit from her is so played out. This song is just fucking terrible I have no clue how it went to #1.
Not hating on Mariah, she can still make decent records. But Madonna sucks too

lipsynching is a necessary evil with TV appearances. some shows require it, for one reason or another. surely mariah cannot reproduce her songs live, but I don't think there is any reason to question whether or not she can perform her songs live.

Almost everyone lipsynchs on the European "Top Of The Pops" shows. It more of a "Top Of The Pops" thing than a Ashlee Simpson-esque thing. At very best, on (T.O.T.P. ) the artists sing over top the their CD.

She is lipsyncing … it a union thing, performers have to play two sets, even if only one song actually gets televised. So generally they tend to lip sync … because most artists just can't be bothered, or have the time to, and it's usually out of their control ( it's up to the broadcaster, blah, blah, blah. Shows like " live with Jools Holland" operate like this, but it also help to have more than one band on the show to actually make it worthwhile. It would be better to be in the studio audience, as you would see more than the viewer … also it sounds shitty on purpose as well, some of the best bootlegs I've ever heard have been dubbed from live TV performances … nuuf said …

Hello Perez, this is Mark Janicello. I am an american singer living in Europe and have appeared many, many times on European TV. In defense of Mimi, you need to understand, that many, many European Shows DO NOT ALLOW performers to sing Live, as they don't have the technical facility to let singers or band perform live. That is the big difference to American TV. With the exception of "Idols" on German TV, almost NO german television show has LIVE performances — everything is lipsynching. Who cares if she's lipsynching….we know Mariah can sing, she doesn't have to prove anything…unlike some other artists. It's funny, cuz she's actually one of the few singers out there who can sing for real, and don't need to lip-synch through their performances. She doesn't sound identical to the song, I've listened to it billions of times and I can tell her live version is slightly different. But cuz it's sounds so much like the original, everyone assumes she's lip-synching. I bet if you take a listen to the recorded version, over and over and over, then compare it to this, you'll see that she wasn't lip-synching at all.

She's been doing that for years- lipsyncing to the starspangled banner, every second song on her concerts aso. I'm sorry to say but she often appears to have great vocal problems these days. I am really sad beacause I really love her voice- but it doesn't work like it used to. They actually record a second version of the song wich she uses when she makes "live"performances. They eaven put it on a clicktrack so that real live music can be used paired with the recorded vocals. That is something Celine Dion does as well btw. Check out her version of the song alive on one of the Diva concerts- compare that vocal sound with her accapella version(definately live) of "I can't help falling in love" from the same consert. Celine does that to save her voice. Think about that the next time you buy expensive concert tickets to one of these great volcalists…Greetings from Sweden/F

She lipsynced select parts, like the first 5 seconds of the beginning, but she actually sang a lot of it except the chorous. when you said lipsync, I thought you meant the whole thing. Kinda sounds live, but not for sure. To be fair to Mariah, her new album is not actually that bad. Some of this performance is lipped, song is dumb as well for the most part. Rest of the album is better!

She HAS lip-synched before, either because of being sick or because of the circumstance (on July 4 she had to sing on a boat at the winds were too strong for the microphone) but this was all live here.
she does have background support for some - mostly because she sings over the chorus at times, and has a lot of overlapping melodies
