Our neighbors and friends had their version of the Grammys on Sunday night and the amazingly talented Feist was the belle of the ball, taking home 1,2,3,4 and 5 awards.
Rihanna won for best international album, and Michael Buble took home a trophy too.

Finger Eleven were ROBBED! Blue Rodeo? WTF did they do this year? The Junos are a joke. Every year the same old zombies win. Ritta McNeal, Tom Cochrine, Ann Murray…etc. Canadians know what I'm talking about.
DON'T PRAISE CANADA THEY ENJOY SLAUGHTERING BABY SEALS AND DESTROYING ALL MANNER OF MARINE LIFE IN THE SEAS. THEY TREAT THE FIRST NATIONS PEOPLE (THE INDIANS) LIKE THIRD-CLASS CITIZENS, DENYING THEM THEIR BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS AND STEALING THE LAND FROM THEM! CANADA IS A PHONEY! I love Avril and she sang well, not spectacularly, but well. Mind you she has been on tour for like a month and it is not like she is on a break right now. She is performing here tomorrow, which I of course have my ticket.
She should of won an award though, such a shame.

I don;t like any slaughter, but I eat meat, so there it is. The natives seem to have more human rights than everybody else; they don't even pay goods and services taxes. Post secondary education is completely paid for, and that deal goes to no one else. Many should stop expecting the government to support them monthly without getting consistent, gainful employment. The way of life is gone; you can't follow the herds anymore. Heck, I would do that if I could, as city living is for the birds.People fence and own all lands from the Arctic to the tip of South America. It's not the 1700's for any other race in the world, either. Sucessful humans adapt or fade away. Many more are successfully fending for themselves, and much praise to their spirit; they will be able to pass many traditions down to their offspring.
it's not "our version of the grammy's" - it's a canadian awards show to celebrate canadian artists… in my opinion much more watchable and supportive than the grammy's… though beyonce and tina were pretty cool…

Over 70 percent of Canadians do not support the seal hunt; they do not need seal to live. Each country has its own native wild animal populations and problems. The seal has good P.R. because they're 'cute', but when Heather Mills tried to 'pet' a white harp seal on her public photo-op protest, she nearly got her face ripped off. It has been illegal to hunt the white harp seal and the hooded seal (bluebacks) in Canada since 1987. Since the 1960s, environmental groups have been saying the seal hunt is unsustainable. In fact, the harp seal population is healthy and abundant. The Northwest Atlantic harp seal population is currently estimated at 5.5 million animals, nearly triple what it was in the 1970s. DFO sets quotas at levels that ensure the health and abundance of seal herds. In no way are seals - and harp seals in particular – an “endangered species”.

Junos held in my hometown yehaaaa! Oh what a night! The best thing about the Junos besides being in Calgary for the FIRST TIME EVER, was the award show was just about 2 hours long way shorter than the grammys..
It is a fun party, loads of talent for shure, not to mention Junofest and Junocup!

I thought it was a tribute to triumph the insult comic dog from conan o'brien,and anne murray, jann arden, blue rodeo etc. made me feel I was watching a old folks network, for anybody criticising Avril, she took time from her tour to show up at a pointless award show, the show uses people like her to draw in ratings, winning a "juno" means nothing, when nelly furtado won for her album "whoa nelly" her follow up "folklore" was a commercial flop, same goes for sam roberts who won album of the year for "we were all born in a flame" his follow up (I don't even remember the name of the album) did nothing.
Yawn…The only part of the show that didn't suck ass was Sarah Brightman.
For the record, you don't have to like Anne Murray if you live in Canada. She sounds like a man. Shania Twain's voice is 100x better than Anne's.
