The Verdict's In: Paparazzi and Driver To Blame for Princess Di's Death!

Filed under: Royals Royce > Legal Matters

princessdi.jpg

It's been officially confirmed.

Jurors in the inquest into the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed decided Monday that they were "unlawfully killed" by the reckless driving of their chauffeur AND the paparazzi who chased them.

The purpose of the inquest was to determine who died, when, where and how.

Some of the disturbing evidence presented included eyewitness testimony of photographers climbing on to the car in which Diana and Dodi were dying to take photos instead of helping the couple and blood test results that revealed the chauffeur was three times over the French blood alcohol limit.

The six-month hearing into Diana and Dodi's deaths was clouded by conspiracy theories, colourful witnesses and evidence blemished by lies, according to reports.

Monday's decision also firmly puts to an end the many conspiracy theories put forward by Dodi's father, Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed (i.e. that Prince Phillip had them killed so Di couldn't marry Muslim Dodi).

Let them rest in peace now.

I find it sickening that the paparazzi continued to take pictures after the crash. What kind of person would do that!? Seems like a picture is worth more than a life. I hope they can sleep at night!
    R.I.P Diana.

You all know she is burning in hell right now.

Actually David, Mother Teresa was old when she died. So I find Diana dying more sad. Diana should have had a longer life.
Allthough I agree with you on the inquest. They are beating a dead horse. But I guess its mostly for historic purposes. So they can look back and say that everything is squared away.

Re: OO7 – Yes, we are all aware of the "French man" who worked for M16 or British secret service aka a pap who was known to follow Diana that had the fiat, white, and later found dead burnt to death with gun shot wounds to the head….but alas the world shall never know not at least in our life times our at least in the life time of her boys…

Re: Cecily – You must be kidding CSI and ER tv shows dominate and you ask why photos of Diana injured and alive right after the accident would not be taken and publically distributed all over the world. She was alive several hours after accident and in fact court documents revel she was moaning clutching her adominal area. She was after all the most photographed woman in the world a pic alive or dead would not only sell but would make money.

To clear a couple of things up.

    1. Having her HRH taken away from her was not the reason didn't have her security. Diana got rid of her long police protection long before she divorced, against the wishes of the police and the royal family.

    2. She only spent THREE weeks with Dodi. Does anyone in their right mind think that Diana would have got engaged and pregnant after that time?

    3. She dated a muslim (DR Khan) for 2 years and no one tried to kill her and him during that period.

    4. The night Diana died she was traveling from a FAYED hotel to a FAYED apartment, in a FAYED owned car, driven by an over the limit FAYED driver, sitting behind an overworked FAYED bodyguard, next to FAYED'S son. All of which was approves by MR FAYED himself. Maybe the reason Mr Fayed is blaming others is that he doesn't want anyone to start pointing the finger at him.

Why would Fayed kill his own son, who he loved very much ….duh!!

Reminds me of a joke I got sent a few days ago: some guy ends up in heaven, meets Princess Di. He compliments her on her halo and she goes, "fuck off, it's the steering wheel!"! Haha. I'm tired of hearing about her. It's been over 10 years; if you're going to do an inquest, do it quietly. At least leave her family with some dignity. Princess Di did good things, but there's no one can deny that she courted the media like no other. She was young and naive when she started out, so she used to let them follow her and revel in the attention, and flirt with the guys taking her pics… Then I guess she grew up and got sick of it. Or did she? Either way, no one deserves to die in a car crash, but shit, know when to let something go.

  11. Hyde says – reply to this

    111

DUH! Now will Dodi's Dad, LET IT GO? Of course I understand his being pain about losing his son, but this has gone on much too long. I do still miss Diana, there will never be another beacon of light like her.

  12. melissa11 says – reply to this

    112

Stacy - I'm not saying that Fayed would kill his son obviously. For god sake. I'm saying that if you were going to blame anyone for this ACCIDENT Fayed is more to blame than anyone.

Dang, Prez! Why you gotta pit up such a fug picture of Miss Princess??? She looks like one of those aliens from Star Trek…from the planet of Orange! LOL!!
One thing tho. You are showing the whole world that she would not have aged well. She would have looked like a tranny when she got older. So there's that.

americans are full of shit and have no idea what it is like in the old world. please explain why you people think the duke (if u even know who he is) set this up? he would have no motive. at all. the majority of you are fucking idiots. the rest who arent realise how stupid u all are. leave diana and our monarchy alone.

  15. Sheep Lover (from New Zealand). says – reply to this

    115

Yeah right! * that's sarcasm for all you Americans*. I'm sure that the driver was really drunk even though the cameras show him walking normally. I'm sure that someone who was actually in charge of one of the most famous women in Britain whould be allowed to drive drunk. And I'm sure that Di and her boyfriend would actually get into a car with a driver who apparently couldn't even stand up. And I'm sure that the toxicology reports and other would go missing- as if they wouldn't get extra protection in such a high profile case. Basically, Di was dating a Muslim and the royal family had to put an end to it as they just couldn't allow a Muslim in the royal family. That's the truth.

I still say it was a conspiracy against this wonderful woman. SHAME ON YOU THE ROYAL FAMILY. Diana was an absolute ANGEL! She was and still is known as the People's Princess! Rest In Piece Diana! We love and miss you so!!!!

    118

BULLSHIT! Only a retard would believe this! I've seen the video and the driver DID NOT look like he was three times over the limit! Or intoxicated at all! The Princess even said herself that they would kill her! And like they would say that the Royal Family murdered her - get real! The royal family are reptillians! They are related to Bush and Co. and are planing for a new world order - NWO! Their family runs everything! Right down to governors in the US also!

"Blood analysis showed that Henri Paul was illegally intoxicated with alcohol whilst driving. He drove at high speed in order to evade the pursuing paparazzi. Tests showed he had consumed amounts of alcohol three times that of the French legal limit. However suspicions were raised by the fact that the same blood sample contained twenty percent carbon monoxide. Such a high level of carbon monoxide would make even a healthy human being unable to drive a vehicle let alone walk in a steady way". Explain this doubters!

  22. Lilly says – reply to this

    122

How much of the British taxpayers' money was wasted on this enquiry a full 10 years after her death? Sure the paparazzi may have played a role in the accident occurring, but it is well known that Diana herself played the media to her advantage, often tipping them off. Germaine Greer went so far as to call her a "media whore". Of course she was howled down by all the Diana lovers, not that Greer would care, but she was making the point that Diana courted the paparazzi as much as they pursued her. Other members of the Royal Family seem to be able go about their businesss without being followed by a pack of paparazzi wolves. Maybe it's time for Britain to become a republic. While the present Queen deserves respect, those who follow, particularly Charles do not.

  23. leila says – reply to this

    123

Doesn't the existence of this very site, Perez, and all the other celeb gossip sites depend on the paparazzi for their very existence? Where the hell do you think they get their photos, etc from? So of we truly believe the paparazzi needs to be controlled, these sites will be in a very sorry state. Probably a good thing.

Witnesses near the tunnel saw a very bright light coming from the tunnel just before the crash. It was a strobe light flashed from a motorcycle into the driver's eyes. MI6 uses strobe lights to blind people. At the same time the white fiat drove into the side of the car forcing it into the pillar. Witnesses also saw vehicles driving like a bat out of hell to get out of the tunnel right after the accident.
Author and journalist Patricia Cornwell, who has been described as an obsessive seeker after truth, did her own investigation and she couldn't rule out that it might have been a very well planned murder. She said "I have been shocked by how much primary information has been ignored and how much erroneous information has been chronically recycled. One would think there was nothing new to say about this case, but that couldn't have proved further from the truth."

im not a conspiracy theorist or a diana fanatic or a dodi supporter, its just my personal belief, that the truth is still to be told. give it sometime, let the royal family further loose its clout. and then we shall hear again. in the meantime, may the Princess rest in peace. amd may justice finally be served. and yes. i take this time to thank Di for brightening up lives all across the world and using her personal agendas to make a postive difference in so many lives… irrespective of from where in her heart or mind, these larger actions were coming from.

I`m not surprised that they would take pictures, but that they would rather do that then help. They could have done both.
And just because pictures sell, does in no way justify taking them at a time like that.

Mohamed Al Fayed started all these "conspiracy" theories to deflect responsibility for Diana's fatal accident. Let's face the facts: Diana was UNDER THE AL FAYED FAMILY'S CARE AND THE DRIVER WAS AN AL FAYED EMPLOYEE. Seems to me, they should have done a better job of protecting her!

    132

Whatever. As long as Dodi Fayad's dad is alive, he will continue to fan the flames of conspiracy. After he is gone, I bet Diana's brother, Earl Charles Spencer, will probably keep it going. This story will never rest - it will always creep back up every year, on the anniversary, on her birthday, when William gets married, etc. I think Prince Charles is an out of touch douchebag married to a social climbing, power-hungry butt ugly bitch!! The Royal Family is going down the toilet unless they skip Charles and let William be king.

    Re: Think About It
The ONLY person who has ever said Diana was pregnant was Mohammed Fayed and there was a huge amount of evidence saying that she wasn't but for the sake of argument lets just believe what Fayed says:
Interview with The Mirror Feb 1998 Mohammed Fayed:
"I doubt Diana was pregnant, the only two people that can really tell us are the coroner over here and the hospital in France and neither of them have confirmed this information which makes me think it's not true'
Interview with the Sunday MIrror Nov 1997 Mohammed Fayed:
'who gave french newspapers the FALSE tip-off that Diana was pregnant?'
Interview with The Telegraph 1997, Michael Cole on behalf of Mohammed Fayed
'it was alleged that the pregnant at the time of her death but no evidence has emerged to support these damaging allegations.. these are nasty rumours (of pregnancy and cocaine) which have no factual basis'
Bit different from what he says now hey?!

  36. Anne Elliot says – reply to this

    136

    Yes.
I was an admirer of Diana's but I think she made a deadly mistake dating this man. Dodi was known to be impetuous and irresponsible and he clearly did not take care of her the way he should have. The fact that, like him, she was not wearing a seatbelt (when she always did in the past) is a sign to me that his behavior was influencing her–for the worse.
However, that being said, I also think that the Royal Family should not have taken her HRH priviledges/security away. They in fact threw her to the wolves by doing that. As the mother of the future king, she deserved better. Poor girl, she was a victim of that system and unfortunately did not have the smarts to survive it.

If she'd been wearing a seatbelt, she would have suffered only a bruise or two. Drunken driving is bad, of course; but a shoulder/lap belt would have saved her life. I wish her sons would mention that.
