Some Good News
Filed under: Sad Sad > Patrick Swayze
As we're all sadly aware of, Patrick Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year.
Now, Swayze and his doctor are stating that the treatment is working! They said the response to the treatment was "excellent."
Great news! Or are they just trying to keep everyone optimistic?
Pancreatic cancer is (until now) incurable.
Patrick and his wife told People, "We're thrilled and grateful for the positive response Patrick has shown towards his treatment. Also, we can't help but feel that all the prayers, meditations and good thoughts sent his way by everyone has made a difference. Thank you!"
Swayze's physician added that Patrick "continues to respond well to his treatment for pancreatic cancer. Because of his excellent response, he will continue the same therapy at Stanford."
Let's keep sending over those positive thoughts! He still needs them!

They told my dad and my family the same thing. The cancer will respond GREAT to treatment as my dads did, but soon since it is in fact incurable it will STOP responding. My dad lived 6 months after his diagnosis. I wish him the best and I do hope he infact is the one who can beat this. My dad tried his best as millions do…but Cancer is a bitch and has taken many, many lives.
My dad died of it, had the whipple surgery and chemo and all, it's lethal and kills quick, if you do have it, there's probably only about a %2 chance you will live, and if you do, it's only for a few years, but I still wish patrick the best and hope we can find a cure for this horrible disease. GET WELL PATRICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
is he fucking the gas tank?
KEEP SMOKING SCUMBAG
Pancreatic cancer isn't incurable! It just usually isn't diagnosed until it spreads to other organs…which is what usually makes it so fatal! He still has a fighting chance if they caught it early and got it out before it spread!
These comments are inappropriate. Pancreatic cancer is still incurible. Don't jinx his treatment and spread lies.
Re: kelly – what was the treatment? please share with others
No offense but - EVERYTHING CAN BE CURED if you have MONEY. Magic Johnson had had AIDS for at least 20 years….he ain't even looking bad.
I really feel bad for ANYONE with a "terminal" illness but I have a problem with people who are denied the treatment i.e. "cure" because they don't have millions. Invest in Pharmacuticals…ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE ILL. You'll never go broke cause you'll never be cured as long as they can keep you buying the meds…that don't cure you.
so many of you are idiots. if you think cancer is curable and that pancreatic cancer is not a violent cancer you could not be more wrong. i watched my dad die from this disease in 10 months. this cancer is undetectable, fast progressing and nearly impossible to treat. did you know that most of the drugs they are still using in clinical trials are over 20 years old? no progress has been made in this field in the last quarter century which is why the mortality rates are so high. to sit back and think that cancer can be cured you must never have watched someone you love die from it. for every person that survives it, there are thousands who never stood a chance and the type of cancer, the type of treatment and the way your body responds to it all make up your odds. i pray that patrick's odds are favorable but the statistics show that he has a fight. be supportive and offer hope but don't spout off about pancreatic cancer being treatable and curable when it is in fact very much the opposite. you are doing a great disservice to the disease and the people who suffer/will suffer from it if you talk such garbage.
Check out pancan.org for information about pancreatic cancer, the desperate need for research funding and awareness and how you can help. Especially all of you who, like me, lost a loved one to pancreatic cancer.
My dad had agressive prostate cancer and thanfully there were some new treatments avalable to us. He is now in remission. Keep positive and explore all options, my heart is with you patrick.
