The Project Runway split from Bravo was ugly, and a new report reveals that it was money AND ego that caused the big shake up!
According to a number of sources, the show owners, Weinstien Company, thought cable network Bravo sucked.
First, they felt there were underpaid for each episode.
For the most recent season the Weinsteins received $600K per episode, but previous seasons the rate per show was significantly less say insiders.
Lifetime, the new home of PR, is reportedly paying them a little over $1 million per episode!
That's a HUGE pay raise!
Secondly, the Weinsteins thought Bravo took too much credit for the success of the show.
Lifetime kinda sucks now and Runway will make it sorta cool. The Weinstein bros. will be able to pat themselves on the back for getting the popular people to hang out w. Lifetime.
If that happens!

i can't believe project runway is moving to lifetime!? seriously?? lifetime???? the fierce cutting edge type of show that project runway is should not be on a lame channel such as lifetime. i don't think i'll be watching.
Yes, I will follow to Lifetime. What I will miss though is the repeat of episodes throughout the season. I especially enjoy the marathons. I don't think Lifetime will do the same.
I'll follow Project Runway as long as the designs are new and fresh. However, I will say that I would like to see designers that are a little more unique in their designs, and not just someone who is going to redo what has been already been done, even if they do it well.
I'm also still bitter that Lifetime won't be carrying the Golden Girls anymore.
Fuck yeah I'm going to follow it to a new channel! As long as the show is the same, and stays fierce, I don't care what station it airs on =)
My cable company does not carry Bravo. I can't wait to watch. Love Heidi. I watch the shows I like the best and couldn't care less what channel they're on.
Yes I would follow it to the next network. I LOVE this show. I dont care what channel its on. I love the concept of the show, the competition, the designs, Heidi, and the designers that compete. LOVE IT!!!
I love PR but will have a really hard time watching it on lifetime! What a bunch of lame ass $ hungry bitches that run the show!

Lifetime is kind of one of those channels that you watch when youre laying on the couch mad sick with the flu.. They dont even have an actually line up of shows do they? I thought they only played movies where a teenage daughter gets kidnapped by her boyfriend/father/uncle/teacher… How does project runway fit in with that? They gonna do a episode dedicated to making clothes to beat your wife in?

Project Runway rocks…no matter what network it airs on. Do you honestly think Lifetime is going to mess with the overall look and feel of the show? NO WAY…they bought it because it's fierce. Lifetime has really stepped up and got some great talent…let's not forget about lookin' good naked with Carson Kressley! Heidi, Tim, Carson…maybe Betty White will make a cameo on the runway. Now that would be FIERCE!

Love the show, but loathe Lifetime! That's a hard choice. I really really don't want to watch Lifetime for any reason. I guess I'll have to wait and see….

PR makes Bravo! The only other show I like is Top Chef. It's a shame because I considered them sister shows. If Top Chef moved over to Lifetime too, Bravo would be finished!

If you don't watch PR on Lifetime because it's Lifetime, then you weren't a true PR fan to begin with…she show is FIERCE! doesn't matter what station it's on

Who cares what station/channel Project Runway airs on????? That is so stupid the channel it ends up on has NOTHING to do with the show….. They wouldn't be stupid enough to change it up or scale it down. If it aint broke don't fix it!
They could air on PBS and I would still tune into PR, it's not the channel that counts it's the Show. As long as Tim Gunn, Heidi, Kors and Nina are all still there and the designers bring some dramz all will be good.
But I do got to wonder if Lifetime will start having message boards and vid clips like bravotv.com does?? I love the message boards about PR and TC….just as fun reading the messages as it is watching the shows!

Project Runway has been on for so many seasons that it won't last much longer. They're making a huge mistake moving. They won't pick up any new fans, just lose a bunch of them.

I am so torn! I love PR but think moving to Lifetime is kinda lame… AND aside from being LAME they just freakin cancelled the Golden Girls. They're assholes that don't understand their place in the world. they are not a place for hip hit shows. they are there for lifetime movies and GOLDEN GIRLS. please protest their latest decision regarding the gals!
