Ok to the ones who say that Howard is old, washed up or over rated. Sorry your broke ass can't afford SIRIUS.
And the show will not be the same with out Artie, and my goodness if they brought Jackie back, I would quit listening. I
really think they staged this to get people in main stream media to pay attention to them. Which is fine, everyone got to earn a living
I wonder if Artie still went to Amsterdam… What do you guys think ?
you can hear the fight on Utubee, search artie and teddy fight. i couldn't believe it, he just looses it, artie that is.too over the top a reaction, something else is going on, withdrawal from something maybe? hope not, maybe he was still over tired from Wednesday night's show. will it show on howard tv tomorrow? hope so. howard wasnt' too bad and sounded like he was trying to calm things when artie accused teddy of theft. i hope they let him back and that he comes back. vacation for them next week.

I love Artie..but come on…falling asleep yesterday on the show…I think he is just looking for an excuse..and poor Teddy! Sounds like Artie is starting to have conflict with everyone on the show…first High Pitch Eric, then Teddy….Crap, I can't believe they didn't re-air the show in replay's..they should have given everyone the chance to listen to it. So..there's a little turmoil on the show..so what!! That's what we all love about it!! I'm so tired of Artie getting away with so much crap….

Artie constantly inflates the time he's been with the show — he'll claim to have been on for EIGHT years (he started — and started ruining the show — 6 1/2 years ago).
He rationalized that he took 10 days in 2 years — but it was 10 days in 15 MONTHS.
AND he's missed 3 of George Takei's first days — but sure, he doesn't mean to hurt gay people when he calls another guy a "f-g;" that's just his New Joisey way of "busting balls" and insulting some guy he thinks is gay and really *hates*.
Artie leaving is going to be a breath of fresh air.

Howard has always been at the forefront of gay rights issues — gays in the military, gay marriage (he cried when he saw Rosie and Kelly on TV at the steps of SF City Hall for their wedding), gay families (he was touched by Rosie's "All Aboard the Cruise" movie — and is the reason that many of us made a point to watch it). You obviously aren't aware of the fact that he made his mark with the Gay and Lesbian versions of Dial-a-date.
He's vehemently anti-gay bashing — and (before you bring them up) he's had the GHF-gs asswipes and Daniel Carver on to make fun of how ignorant they are, not to celebrate them.
For as long as I've been listening (since 91), Howard's been a friend and sensitive to gay issues.
Artie Lange is another story. A bigger (literally and figuratively) homophobe would be hard to find.

I vote that they move the studio around…. put Artie behind the glass enclosure instead of Robin! That way he can continue to be funny but won't be able to harm anyone except himself. Poor Artie - he's fucking up the best job he - or any other comic - will ever have.
I love Artie. He needs rehab. Artie adds such dimension to the show. Howard rules, he is true talent. I hate dealing with the satellite radio as my connection is iffy but love the freedom.

AND, they have 10 weeks vacation per year which, with the holidays that don't fall during vacation weeks, means Artie has to show up for roughly 4 shows/week for 40 weeks/year, which (at an average of 4.5 hours/show) means he couldn't even make it in — or stay awake for — an 18 hour work week. Artie's year of Stern shows equates to 18 weeks of the average hump's work load (before overtime).
I REALLY hope Artie is not on his way to Amsterdam right now. I wish I had been a part of that Death Pool. I smell windfall.

For those that keep saying who cares about Howard anymore, get a grip. Notice how many comments are on this story. Most Perez blogs have between 50 and 150 comments. This one has over 330. Obviously people still care about Howard. And for those that don't still listen to Howard, you are really missing out on some great radio. If he's not your cup of tea, that's fine too. This was 100% NOT staged today. That's why Howard has had a great radio show that I have been listening to in Philly for almost 20 years now. It is real. Today was 100% real. It was almost scary to listen to Artie go after his assitant live and have to be restrained. Artie needs help and I hope he gets it. He is probably back on drugs and needs help with drugs, depression, and his health/weight. Good luck Artie, we love you and hope you come back. Please don't go backwards and go back to Jackie….

Artie is out of control and deep down I think Howard knew what he was doing bringing him and Teddy into the studio. Makes for great radio and gets people talking about the show. I love the show, and even when it's bad there is humor, but today was a little sickening. Not fun, Not funny.

I love Artie, but sadly, I don't think he'll be back. I know his type…very "macho" to use an old term. If he comes back, he'll be so humiliated. He blew up at Teddy and in the end, he left crying and saying that he's "not a good person". I think Artie realized after idolizing Howard for all of these years, that Howard (who I also love) will do ANYTHING for ratings. Kinda like finding out that the Wizard of Oz is nothing more than a little man behind a curtain…only Howard is just a man who will do anything (even humiliate a friend) for ratings. Too bad. My heart aches for Artie. Hope he gets some help finally.

As all fans of the show know, Artie has many issues in his life and he is literally a ticking timebomb. He is a wonderful person and has a heart of gold. Depression & substance abuse is destroying his soul. All of the things that make him happy, he destroys. With all of that said, just like all of us, HE MUST BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS ACTIONS. He is completely out of control mentally and physically and I hope he gets extensive help A.S.A.P. I'm afraid soon we'll be hearing about his death if not. Howard is stuck between a rock and hard place right now. He cares so much for Artie, but at the same time , he has to do the right thing for the show, the staff, and guests.
Anyway, I AM A HUGE FAN OF THE SHOW and even though they sometimes "diss Jesus," I will be praying for them both, especially Artie. I would hate to see such a talented and caring person loss it all.

Artie hasn't infused the show with anything except negativity, obligation, desperation, and self-destruction since Howard wouldn't let him take off 3 weeks in summer 2005 to work on that abomination he calls a movie (Beer League). Artie used that as an excuse to go into full blown heroin addiction and he's still nodding off on Subutex — self-medicating and self-destructing, but not in a funny or entertaining way.
You need a reality check — and maybe if Artie's sister wasn't blowing you, you could make up your mind with the head with ears.

Howard asked him if he would prmose not to explode like that again but Artie said he could make no promises. Howard said that if that's the case, he cannot be there and Artie's response was "well, then I resign." A few minutes later, he told Howard that he had to go and told Howard he loved him & left. Howard 100 is not even replaying the show!!!!

I love Artie, but today's behavior was just not civilized at all. He's got so many issues and I hope he deals with them before he implodes (or should I say explodes, literally). I know people say they can't imagine the show without him (granted it is 1000% better with him than Jackie), but it would go on. Bring in Greg Fitzgerald - he is super hilarious, and would slide into that spot so easily. Dream gig.

On a Chicago gloomy day in Chicago my initial feeling after hearing the segment was; this was the day that the Stern show died. It was so sad and upsetting to have this feeling. Hearing Howard, Booey, and company shell shocked was a surreal feeling. However as shook up as Howard was I came to the realization that the show will live on for as long as he wants. The reason being this man is a pure genius. In his shaken state Howard conducted an awesome interview with Jason Reitman, this is why he is the King. Long Live Howard. We love you Artie, I feel he will be back he is currently on the same flight as Teddie to Amsterdam, can you feel the tension?????

Anyhow, Artie has *SO* many issues…I don't know where to start, but he's completely self destructive. He barely had a career (sorry, I don't consider a stint on Mad TV and a dirty work a thriving career) before Howard. He's too dumb to realize that the show has MADE him and the fact that he gets big bucks for gigs now. Anybody see Beer League? I want those 2 hours of my life back, no other comedian could even have gotten that shit movie released.
