Thankfully, Taryn Manning is an exception!
We've always had a soft spot for her band, Boomkat, and now they're finally back with NEW material.
Runaway is their first single and it's a bit creepy watching the video because Taryn looks so much like Lindsay Lohan in it, but the song actually would be perfect for L.L.'s upcoming album.
It's smart, sophisticated pop with a bit of a "chill-out" vibe. And, it sounds a bit autobiographical too.

I LOVE Boomkat/Taryn! It's about time they put out new music! Their last CD is one of my favorites! Cool vid, too!
she sounds like she smokes a pack a day. who knows if the song would be good if homegirl could sing… as it is pop music, there are no detectable "instruments" other than those which come from a computer, and my dog sounds better than this chick. she wouldnt even make it on american idol. you need serious help… if you need good music look no further than WRUV. i make better music than this song, improvising, with bronchitis.

I thought the song was suprisingly good. It had a relaxed, mellow vibe.
I really like Taryn Manning, herself, but this is NOT GOOD ("Im gonna fake it, fake it till I make it", please…awful lyrics) If you want to talk about a great music being made by an actress put Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward's band "She & Him" on here…Why do you let me stay here? perrfection, and Zooey actually wrote 9 of the songs onthe album herslef
