I AM A DAVID ARCHULETA FAN..BUT THAT WAS AMAZING!!
Everyone likes a good back story…this is certainly a tear jerker to be sure…but, and no one else on that panel would dare to say it, given the publicity this story got, and with his poor, ailing brother and family sitting in the audience, it was not a very good rendition. Any other night he would have been chastized for being "pitchy", and downright off key in places…lack luster performance…I just can't shake the feeling that a tragedy has been milked for fame. I guess whatever it take, huh?

I'm from the area that he is from, and they were discussing on the radio yesterday that this was the first time that his brother was going to be able to watch him live. The doctors would not let his brother fly a commercial airline to get there, so their friends and family pulled some strings and were able to get a medical flight so that David's brother could see him perform. That was the reason David was crying, not because Simon gave him a compliment. Simon has been giving him compliments on and off for weeks. David for American Idol!!!!
Wasn't it just yesterday that you were accusing him of bringing his brother on to get votes? I take it this is your effort to retract that statement, which was reprehensible in the first place. The performance was VERY original and he did an excellent job. I think if Mariah let him, that would be a #1 hit in no time. I would change a couple of pieces of the arrangement, but that was an excellent performance!!
I didn't like this guy from day 1 at the auditions……Boy, have I changed my tune. This was an incredible performance. I am now a fan. This performance was unbelievably inspiring. God Bless his Brother.

I didn't think David Cook would be able to pull off Mariah at all. In fact, I imagined that his would inevitably be the worst performance of the night. Man, was I wrong. I turned out to be my favorite of the night. I like several contestants this season, but David Cook (who I originally despised as much as I did Chris Daughtry in his season) has totally won me over.

I thought David Cook's performance of "Always Be My Baby" last night was horrible! I was shocked that the judges loved it! At the beginning of it, he was singing so low, that I could even hear him! It was terrible! And did anyone see MC's face when he started singing?! She briefly had a horrified look on her face when he turned "Always Be My Baby" into a rock song!

This performance was pretty good, MUCH better than the other contestants…what you should've posted was when he did Billy Jean. It was fantastic!
I don't even find him attractive, yet I wanted to be the microphone at the end! That was the best performance of the night. Simon is pretty much right 90% of the time and everyone else before David Cook was karoake, including David MickeyMouseClub Archuletta.

I watch this show just because of David Cook. He has one of the BEST, most haunting voices I've ever heard. I'm a huge music fan, and this guy has talent. Hands down, he should win, and if he doesn't he will kick every American Idol winners ass out there with the # of records sold. He is going to be HUGE. I loved it even better the second time. Best performance of the season. I have been so unimpressed w/ everyone & every performance this season except David & his version of Imagine. I think he & David are the only ones w/ talent this season. He does a great job at being original. How awesome that is brother got to be there. I also love how humble he is, I hate the people that talk back to the judges.
His performance was so good because he totally reinterpreted the song. There is only one MiMi & that is why everyone else sucked. Loved his version. It so suited his rocker style. He is such a sincere humble guy. The girls this season suck - sorry Brooke ( i think that is the name of the cute girl w/ long blonde hair) I think you are super sweet but you can't pull off an entire performance w/o messing up. David A or David C for sure to win.

Go download David Cook's pre idol CD called "Analog Heart". It was done iin 2006 and is #2 as the most top downloaded CD. It is a really, really good CD too. The CD is loaded with hits, truthfully. That CD is very well done.
This guy has performed solid the entire season. Billie Jean is legendary what he did with it and the notes he hit are incredible. It was an emotional two weeks for this guy. Give hiim a break. He is a brilliant singer and performer.
