Brigitte Bardot: Nutjob Going To Jail???

French law officials want to throw the book at 73-year old screen legend Brigitte Bardot for inciting racial hatred toward the Muslim community.
Brigitte (a vocal animal activist) stated in a letter that she wrote to then interior minister Nicolas Sarkozy (now President of the country) protesting the method of slaying sheep during the Muslim festival of Aid El-Kebir.
"We're fed up with being led around by this whole population which is destroying us, destroying our country by imposing its acts," she said.
A bit harsh, baby?????
Bardot was upset because the sheep weren't being stunned before they are bled to death, which is the 'traditional' method.
The letter was published in a magazine and distributed to supporters of the Brigitte Bardot Foundation.
Several anti-racism groups in France filed complaints about the letter, accusing Bardot of provoking discrimination and racial hatred toward Muslims.
Bardot has been convicted of similar offenses on four previous occasions since 1997 and fined $2,250-$7,500.
The court will deliver its verdict June 3.
You'd think that after all those years of being alive the old gal would have gained some wisdom and learned some diplomacy!

In England a lot of our laws are being being affected by Islam, when I don't have a problem with Muslims, England is a Christian country, and has it's own heritage, and morals, and ways of doing things, which are all being slowly being changed.

Have you read some of the stuff the Imam's have put out there and preach from their pulpit. "The world needs to convert back to Islam as it used to be." Ever read any of their sermens. It is scary. I can't stand that there are people taking Bardot's side. It's not just the letter, she and her husband are key people in the Front National. FN is the french *NEO-NAZI* party that denies the holocaust, physically agress politicians during debates, wants to deport all french citizens who happen to have a non-french distant ancestor, and some of them have even been convicted for shooting down immigrants and other kind of hate crimes.
I don't care how beautiful Bardot was in the 60's or whether or not your like muslims. It's irrelevant. Bardot is a nazi. A cold-blooded fucking nazi, and I'm not using a figure of speech here. And she doesn't try to deny it.
So sure, some muslims are terrorist but there are plenty of nice muslims too. The same doesn't apply to Front Nationalists. Brigitte Bardot prefers animals to human beings. In the eighties she was already talking trash about unemployed people. Interresting for someone who stopped acting, so working in the early seventies.
In the nineties, she married the third most important man of the racist french party. The leaders of this party constantly diminish or deny the Holocaust. Yes, those people really like Hitler, it's no exageration, it is the truth.
People, it's ok to read gossips but don't forget to read and learn before judging. Stop defending Bardot because she had a nice ass in the sixties! We have to learn to live together, it starts with respect and learning to know each others!

Re: Nicholaus – Two versions? Where did you get that from? I've studied Islamology, there is only one version of the Koran. The thing - like Hamza points out - is that the text is old. Some arabic words have changed meaning since it was written several centuries ago. Classical and modern arabic are very different. Some words can even have completely different meanings and are sometimes wrongly interpreted.

I've studied 5 years of the French language and culture, as well as having traveled there. Why are you so insulted by a positive response to the USA as opposed to the negative remarks spewed here about the USA…truth can hurt, but don't be bitter. I could have called the French "cheese-eating-surrender-monkeys", but I didn't.
BB is a saint and I think it's morally wrong for someone to go to jail for saying that. She feels very strong that what they are doing to animals is deeply wrong. She has even said and hung up on a Korean journalist for talking about their eating dogs and cats. BB can see eating cows and chickens for survival but for anyone to do that to domesticated animals. I get where she's coming from, I am so frustrated in seeing barn cats that are suppose to stay out in the heat and cold to catch mice and then get pregnant again and again just to see the kittens get dropped off else where hit by cars or thrown in animal shelters. BB IS A SAINT!!!!!!!

A Muslim coworker inspired me to read the Qu'ran. He patiently answered all of my questions, and to learn about Islam was not all bad. He told me that there are 5 main prophets in Islam: Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammad. Jesus taught that animal sacrifice was not necessary. I am simply wondering then, as Jesus is seen as a prophet of Islam, WHY isn't this tenant by the prophet Jesus obeyed?
I am neither Christian nor Muslim, however I have read the Bible and the Qu'ran cover to cover. Peace out.

Bravo to her! At last, someone has the courage to tell it like it is. Why should civilized countries allow blatant cruelty to animals by newcomers to their countries. Everyone is scared to offend Musliims because of their rabid reaction. I am glad that animals have her to speak up on their behalf. Those who don't want to adapt to a civilized way of life are free to return from whence they came. And good riddance to them too!
