Azariah Southworth, host of the popular Christian youth show The Remix has done something radical (at least in the Christian world).
The host of over a year and a half has come OUT of the closet! As a homo! A gay!
Congrats on coming out!!!!!
Amen, we say. aMEN.
Southworth says, “This has been a long time coming. I’m in a place where I’m at peace with my faith, friends, family and more importantly myself. I know this will end my career in Christian television, but I must now live my life openly and honestly with everyone. This is my reason for doing this.”
The Remix is seen in more than 128 million homes worldwide. The show is in syndication and averages more than 200,000 viewers weekly.
Southworth has risen to fame in the Christian world and has been featured in different national publications, such as Charisma Magazine and many other religious media outlets.
Southworth adds, “I know I will be cut off from many within the Christian community, and if so, then they didn’t get the point of the life of Christ. I believe by me living my life honestly and authentically now, I am able to be a better person and a better Christian. We all know there are so many other gay people in the Christian industry; they’re just all scared. I was scared, but now I’m no longer afraid."
He probably just ruined his career in the Christian biz, but better free and happy than closed and oppressed.

I am glad he came out, and I believe that no true Christian would treat him any differently. I am glad he is being honest.
However if he wants to continue to live his faith as a public Christian leader (in the spotlight) and not appear as a hypocrite, he needs to make the choice to abstain.
There is nothing wrong with being a Christian and admitting you are gay. The key is to stick to your Christian values, follow your faith and make the choice to abstain from sex. Simple. Easy-peasy-shampoo-squeezee.

Good for him. My father is a retired minister and it took me 24 years to get enough courage to come to terms with how I felt. Even though it changed everything in my life and the way I was treated by the church and even my own family, I will NEVER regret the day that I was actually able to be honest about who I am with the world. And a million people arguing in my face can't change that.

Jesus may not have believed its right,cuz its not, but that doesn't mean he doesn't love you thats why he didn't ignore prostitutes and people of that sort. I went to high school with this kid! Seriously. We sat next to each other during Modern World Civilization with Mr. Holm. Azariah is an amazing person even though he was late every day. He's always been quiet except when on stage. He was a HUGE theatre kid. Many of us back at good ol' PHHS knew that he was a homosexual, but it was never really that big of a deal. I'm glad he's being open about it and I hope he continues to be proud of who he is and I hope people can accept that there is such a thing as Christian homosexuals. God passes judgment, not his creations.
