Sex & The City's token ginger head, Cynthia Nixon has blabbed that one of the characters in the film DIES.
She refused to say who it is, though.

Dude, it's Steve's mother, Drunky McBudweiser.
It's MAGDA people!!!! Remember how she had a stroke on the last episode of the show and I read somewhere that she now has alhemizers in the movie and that taking care of her is what put the strain on Steve and Miranda's relationship, causing Steve to cheat on Miranda. They want to do a sequel if it makes enough $$$$ so there is no way they would kill any of the main girls or their significant others.

Its blatantly big before the wedding, she drops her phone - the hole carrie/big/phone thing. Plus it says in the heart of the city, carrie says before bug epitomises new York, so I'm assuming his heart problems come back.

No way can it be BIG. Women and some men all over America will revolt in the streets, including myself. Chocolate will be sold out everywhere. There is no way that they will kill Big. I predict Magda. Cynthia is trying to get buzz for the film, not give away a huge major plot point. The movie is still over a month away, and look how much buzz it is getting. Mission accomplished.

it won't be a main character because I heard SJP say that there may be a sequel. Face it: this show rocks. It's up there with The Sopranos. They want to milk it for all they can. Killing a main character would be stupid. Remember how Sam had breast cancer? I think that someone they know will have cancer or AIDS and pass on. I think they like to highlight big issues. I think it would be touching if Sanford passed from AIDS. It would make a huge statement and help remind people about a disease that we still have not found a cure for.
It is probably Steve's mother. It relates to Cynthia's character, which would give her authority on spilling the beans, Steve's mother was already ill in the final episode and she's not a major character!

Since all four ladies are still in the last scenes of the movie, it's safe to assume that Big is the character that dies. If you all remember from the series, Big had heart problems (which resulted in open heart surgery), so maybe he passes from heart failure? It's just a guess, but it's the only thing that makes sense. What's your theory? Who do you think is going to die?
ps. Why is America so in love with big? He cheated on his wife, cheated on Carrie. He is comitment phobic and full of himself, plus not that hot if you ask me. Carrie is such a sweet girl, I always thought she could do better.
SJP said the film is very adult and deals with despair.

The trailer leads us to believe he leaves Carrie before the wedding, but I think he will have a heart attack. That's why Carrie is uncharacteristically dressed in all black in more than one scene in the trailer.
SJP always said the movie would not just be a long episode of the TV show, and that there would need to be a good story to tell. Think about it. Killing Big opens up a whole realm of possibilities and gives them the opportunity to show Carrie picking up the pieces and leaning on her friends - which, really, is what everyone wants to see.
I think it's samantha. I saw a preview for the sex and the city movie before another movie and she was walking down the street and tripped or fell or fainted and the other girls helped to pick her up. cancer can come back.

i dont think its any of the main characters because that would ruin the movie. however, it could be steves mother, due to her illness or mirandas nanny because shes old and also is sick.
It's probably Steve's Mom, played by Anne Meara. I doubt any of the main characters would be killed off. That would be a real downer for a comedy movie. Killing off a 2nd stringer is "poignant." It's just a lot of hype to drum up business for the film.
