If people would get to the end of the song, she goes up in her register and it sounds great. Give her a break. Lets look at Mariah, who has a great voice, but has been lyp-syching for all of her promo appearances. Take it easy on her.

Hmmmm. I don't like saying negative things about people. I like Ashee. She's fun, cute..love her attitude. I love the song….but, yeah, she does not sing well live. I could've sang that better! I bogles my mind sometimes on how some people get these huge record deals. But….still like her of course.

At what point does a person say to themselves "I'm a fraud"?. She has to realize she can't sing. Is it that the people around her pump up her ego sooo much that she's riding high on this idea that she is actually good? I don't know. I think she's a kid who's been groomed to be this product and she's so young that she's go no perspective and no one around her has the guts to tell her the truth.

Also, for those of you who say she can't sing, I believe she did a 2 month stint on London's west end in Chicago playing Roxie which is a very difficult singing part. And London audiences are rough, and she got flawless reviews.
At least she knows how to stomp around on stage and look like she belongs there. This girl honestly can't sing! She's worse than karaoke night at a dive bar where the drinks are half-priced and them girls are sloshed.

I would agree. People should have their socks knocked off by performances. People defend her by saying "Well, it's not that bad." Well, it is when you phrase it like that. You know it is. I don't look at other acts and say, "They weren't that crappy this time."

I'm sorry to everyone who thought that she wasn't that bad. Really, she is tone deaf and apparently didn't spend the time off she had geting voice lessons. Everyone one can sing to some degree, but it looks like she didn't even try. She is just another pop tart that spends more time creating a image than working on her music. If you can't bring it live, then you can't bring it at all and this proves that she has no business making records. If she doesn't care enough to put effort into her work she should find something else to do.

PEREZ YOU'RE TRIPPIN. this sounds pretty damn good, maybe you're not used to hearing music other than the cliche songs, but this is what makes her different. this kind of a raspy voice is not easy to sing with, and i think you need to get over the high pitched voices and start appreciating when people come up with something new and different. i think you're hating, because you don't know how to accept something new instead of giving it a chance, you shut it down right away then ppl start agreeing with you because you're a model figure in this industry

Have you heard the track? Sounds almost exactly like the studio version.. It's hard to sing that low live with all of the feedback & noise. She's also having to double up singing someone else's part.

ugh, as usual Perez is an idiot. If you're gonna make a claim that someone "is a mess," at least make sure you watch the entire video first. While by no means is she stellar, her voice still has a nice raspy sensual quality and she stays on key. I would never use the harsh description that Perez used. But he's typically off the mark.

Everyone needs to leave her alone. She was pretty ok and I enjoyed her performance. Not everyone can do what she does. She was a little nervous but that doesn't mean anything. I honestly think people don't give her the respect she deserves.

The beginning of the song was indeed painful to listen to but the rest of it was fine, it wasn't the best live performance I've seen in my life, BUT it wasn't half as bad you said it was Perez, let's just say it was bareable!
She definately started the song on a way too low tone, plus maybe she had issues hearing herself back properly, stuff like that happens, and anyway I think it is a lot more acceptable than someone who just lipsynchs, for once she didn't, she deserves credit, at least for that.

I love how the back-up singer looks at Ashlee in the beginning and is thinking on her face "how in the hell does this beeyotch have another album coming out?" The answer: 13-20 year old girls and gays will buy anything MTV tells them to.
I'd have to say she's not her sister vocally. Not saying who is better, just saying.
Anyway, the lyrics are relateable and kind of funny— like she said prior to her singing– "tongue-in-cheek" is kinda of the vibe for songs on her new album. Call me naive- but I thin "out of my head" had kind of funny lyrics too—
My friends and I used to have a joke, pre Ashlee's out of my head– and the joke went, when a friend was worried over nothing– ME: "It's all just in your head". Friend: "Well, it's my head, get it out!". Hence why listening to me why "Out of my head" makes me smile.
