I do believe with some of what they are saying, but I agree that this is more to turn be away from Obama and not to God. For the record, God is not jealous of us, he is jealous for us. I know it's deep, read the scripture and you will comprende.

    Re: Unfortunate
As a side note, most people are pretty offended when you say that you will pray for them. As a person who used to be a die-hard Southern Baptist, I never understood this until just now. When you tell someone that you will pray for them, it is like you are belittling their beliefs, whatever they may be. By all means, feel free to pray, but just don't tell people that you are praying for them.

ATTENION!!! What in the world is this? Right, ALL CHRISTIANS point the finger at you brothers and sisters who are not as holly as you are! Because that is exactly what Jesus taught. These people are the same kind who say others that teach about christ, but don't go through all the same motions as they do are evil. Like Mormons, hello? I am certain that Mormons are christian and serve and love like Christ taught. These people that say this kind of crap about others religion and belief systems are incredibly ignorant. Who is your Judge? apparently these people are going to Judge everyone for Christ. Thanks for taking over his role. I am sure he likes that!

The Satan bit is an exaggeration, but it does seem like Oprah wants a power like a religious leader and really cannot have this since it is not possible to reconcile spiritual leadership with sales. Oprah uses TV as a medium to have her followers buy what she recommends, vote for who she endorses, etc. Her show has become a commercial, versus the early years where it was more about discussions and ideas. Obviously Oprah has the right to endorse any candidate she wants, but this has alienated much of her fan base, who are fans, but they are smart enough to know that there is a big difference between Oprah selling a book versus selling a president. The latter is just offensive. At some point, people want to make their own decisions on the merits of the candidate. Also, it did seem to be backstabbing to Hillary Clinton. She spent years serving others and helping her husband, but the moment she is about to realize her potential, Oprah tears her down by supporting her opposition. Oprah has to know as a woman who, like all women, have to fight for the right to even HAVE a DREAM (men can have dreams but women can't) that women are smart enough to see this as a very deep betrayal.

    Re: dk
Actually, many people have read the Bible, and still choose to believe that despite its many accuracies and beautiful teachings, it is a book by men. The book is accurate because it was written many years ago, and sometimes that makes it dated. I personally believe that many of the teachings of Jesus are wonderful, such as faith, peace, love, and hope. But then there are those teachings that are clearly against those ones, such as much of the Old Testament (homosexuality, women in the church, etc.). I personally believe that if we are to truly and objectively look at the Bible, we must take it in its historical context. But then again, I am also open to the idea that I am wrong. Something I think that is missing from this message board, and the world in general.

She was doing pretty well until she publicly started messing with politics and religion. Not advisable for a talk show host who should appear neutral and objective, IMHO. If she's thinking of switching hats to either run for office or start a new age church, then I guess that would be a different matter.

I am Christian, and I believe there is only one way. However, I was taught by my Christian family, and grandfather (minister for 40 years), to love everyone, and not judge, no matter their choice in life. Just pray for them and truly wish people well. I wish Oprah well, although I disagree with what she says about God and religion. From what I see, Oprah is a kind person, and does a lot of good with her money. There are crazy, fanatics out there in every religion, like the ones that protested the Pope today in NYC (calling him Satan, etc). While I do not believe in the Pope, I respect any person living his life by the word of God. The people that protested against him today, and the people that are trying to make Oprah look evil, are NOT Christians. They are doing bad things in the Christian name, just like the terrorists.

Why idolize a man who is a bigot and who bases his beliefs in archaic dogma which causes more harm than good. I don't know the pope personally but I've listened and read many of his speeches. He doesn't believe in condomns, brilliant. He thinks its wrong for two people of the same sex to love each other, how compassionate. He represents everything thats wrong with organized religion, the most corrupt and dangerous institutions on earth, because unfortunately they are NOT based on love as they claim to be.

Everyone keeps saying how Oprah is such an educated woman. She is not educated at all, if she were she would have never said the things she said about God being jealous of her. Instead of denouncing Christianity right then and there, she should have actually read the Bible for herself and learned what that statement really meant. I will be praying for each and every one of you who posted these anti-Christian hate-filled remarks. Not all Christians are close-minded, some of us understand that we are not here to judge others, it is not our purpose.

    328

    Re: noko

Your right, not all believers think that way or act that way. But I can tell you for certain that they are few and far between. Truly good human beings are few and far between as it is, reguardless of religion.

What bothers me, is that Chrisitianity has a track record of not being what it supposedly teaches, Christ-like behavior. And quite frankly I think its because of what it teaches. Not that the message per say is bad, but its the human mind and the way it has the ability to twist it in such a way that the worst parts of the bible are the best way to keep people holy and lovable by God. The ONLY way to heaven. It seems that WHOLE message can be taken well and be given the way it was meant to be by a few people, but when you have thousands and even millions gathered, the message is twisted into what history was made of. Hatred and bloodshed.

Peole in a crowd who believe the same thing tend to justify those who are deemed "worthy" reguardless of what they do if they do it in the name of God. Judgement against "the gays" when actually, the very judgement itself by a human is a sin. Thats what the bible says anyway. Judgement at all by humans is a sin but thats all that Christianity has become and actually all its ever been.

  29. Hey-zeus says – reply to this

    329

Telling someone that you will pray for them when they have said or done something "wrong" is an open judgement. It is telling them that they are in need of prayer because you deem it so. It is also vanity because the "wrong" person is in need of your sinless prayer.

We are human, we are bound for 100% to sin or to something to harm our fellow man. THe only ones who need saving or prayer are the ones who have agreed heart and soul to follow the bible. Living by such rules, you screw up more than the average person every single second. Where every day, sentence, and even THOUGHT could be your next sin. People who live and breathe the words of the bible should only be consumed with the need to save themselves where with your man-made God could have you on the outs with HIM in a split second.

Oprah IS EVIL, She represents the root of what is wrong with Human Nature, HUMAN PRIDE.

Oprah thinks she's Successful because SHE is GOOD, and the "GOODER" she is, the MORE she'll get. THAT is not truth, its the oldest Satanic deception in the book, and Satan has Sold that deception to Oprah, and she spreads it to the world.

  34. Oprah is Bad says – reply to this

    334

According to true Christianity, humans are called to be humble in the fact that they realize that no matter how Good they think they are, they are truly weak and frail and must be grateful to God for the saving sacrifice he made on the cross. There is no self-righteousness in Christianity, all of our righteousness is to be attributed to God. Christians rely on a deeper joy and peace than mere Worldy success can bring, because all the riches in the world would not be enought to fill one human heart. Only God can truly fulfill our deepest longings. He promises us truth if we truly seek him, and then he molds our character. You can't get character by becoming merely rich and succesful, you must go through trials along with triumphs, because those lessons in life are also blessings. Our true home is Heaven with God, which will surpass anything on earth. We will know the difference between Good and Evil, and the glory and mysteries of God revealed will cast any evil longing into shadow.

All the riches in the world are not enough to fill the longings of one human heart, why? Because God made us for a higher purpose, which is not all about "self" as Oprah would have you believe.

People who watch this and respond with comments like "christians are mindless" and "christians are crazy" really need to stop being so ignorant. Just because one group of people says something does not mean that they speak for an entire group of people. I think it's really hypocritical that people are so against saying something negative about homosexuals or about a certain race but then think it's ok to say something offensive about a religion such as christianity. I am a christian but I would never think of making insensitive comments about gays or anyone's race or religion because I believe in a loving who taught of being kind to everyone, NO MATTER WHAT. So i just ask that people realize that saying stuff like that is just as hurtful and ignorant as if I insulted you for your sexuality. Don't let a small vocal minority color your opinions of Christians, or ANYONE for that matter. And Perez, as someone who has probably been discriminated against for your lifestlye by hateful people, i would think you would be the first person to not judge a group stereotypically.

I do feel like there is a tendency right now to just take those elements out of any religion that you like, mix them up and make your own personal faith that suits you. This is just wrong! it is SO SAD how many people believe everything she says. the bible clearly states, multiple times, and in multiple ways that Jesus is the way to God. If she doesn't believe that…then she shouldn't be advocating the Bible. Their interpretation of the Bible is worse than the Mormons and Scientologists put together. God's Word was written to be easy to understand, the words are plain and simple. Satan is one who distracts people from the Truth(Jesus). I actually forgot halfway through that this was a video polemic against Oprah. Those women in the audience arguing with her seemed to crazy and irrational. Every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. That is what is true, everyone of you who mocks the Lord will see that God will reveal himself to you, and you will be sorry that you blasphemed against the Lord. If you read the bible God tells what is to become of nonbelievers.
Look what happened to Lots wife when she did not listen to the Lord, she turned to stone. The Lord wants all his children to be saved, but your hard hearts have kepted you from him. I do believe that Oprah is off her mark and that she is a teacher of dangerous and false information regarding the Lord, if in fact Oprah ever knew the Lord she would not be searching so hard for something she keeps rejecting the truth, that Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the Light. Oprah is allways looking for God, but she continually rejects him for new age religion, and all these books she reads to find the paths, and ways to life, it's all in the Bible, thats the only book Oprah needs to read then she will have all the answers in life, God has given us his word.

Weell, you can crucify me all you want, you wackos, but I'm a good decent person and I'm perfectly capable of being that without Jesus' help. And while we're on the subject, Bible is just a book. Get over it. Use your own brains people, don't fall to any masshysterical beliefs!
People can be good and ethical without religion.

everyone whose getting all worked up at perez for saying crazy christians…cause honestly, they're being a little crazy. and my crazy i mean mindless. They are following blindly beliefs which they dont fully understand. This is just a celebrity blog and everyone who takes it as something more than that, and decides to take offense to it, needs to take a good long look at themselves and wonder what they were doing on this site in the first place. Lol. This site is for fun, if ur gonna take it seriously and offensivly…get out.

So they want Christians to be mindless sheep, who ask no questions? I think religious people should praise what Oprah is doing. Its not like she is teaching hate. She believes God is Love.. How could anyone argue with that?
That must be the greatest compliment one can pay God, if you ask me..
I doubt very much God would give humans an enquiering mind and then expect us not to us it..

Re: armanda – You ask for people to study matters more carefully but fail to do it yourself. "buddah" as you say it, isn't a god at all. Buddhism is a way of life (and far better one than any christian way at that) which was started by Siddharta Gautama = Buddha, NOT God. And it's been around longer than Jesus.

@52 Lily - Just because people die for their beliefs like "Jesus" did does not make them right. How about the suicide bombers? They died for their beliefs, does that make them right? And why are you saying Oprah has a religion? She is trying to say she put "God out of the box" which basically means she doesn't have a religion. Most Christians seem to think everyone has to have a religion, but they don't even know that not having one frees them of their delusions. I used to be a Catholic, and after some self-searching, I'm relieved to say I no longer follow doctrine, but just experience life for what it is. This is a gift. It doesn't matter where you were before you were born or where you go when you die. This is the only thing that exists right now. Your life here on Earth. All the imaginary things you are led to believe right now about Heaven and Hell is simply, man-made. For the true "God" does not have a mouth, or has these stupid rules for you to follow, it's not a person who can think for themselves and judge others. The Bible is, logically and analytically speaking, was written by humans. Sorry.

@87 Jess - "She needs to stay out of religion." She has. hahahaha…At one point in time, everything that exists came from something. All galaxies, all planets, all living creatures came from the same source. It would be silly to call this thing a certain name or even put a face on it when it should be something that can be universally understood.

isn't it sad that whenever someone finds their personal interpretation of religion that is not a part of the whole that they become 'evil'

hell, if that's evil then i'm the devil in training.

Everything that Oprah said is what i believe. I'm just amazed that someone has gone to the extreme lengths of creating this video. How can one group say that their way is the only way? The world is full of different people from different cultures… Who are we to say that we are right and everyone else is wrong? I think that 'Don't drink the kool-aid' comment is terrible - does everyone know what that refers to? Google it. The people who made this video should be ashamed of themselves.

"christians are worthless. their religion's legacy is one of genocide, terrorism, widespread sexual abuse and hate for anyone who doesn't do what they say is "god's" will. they can all eat a dick up."

Actually those are humans that do that. It's the human part in us that desires those things. There have been many non-Christians and non-Religious people that have also done above just as bad. You're beef is with mankind. Not Religion. As religion doesn't really teach these things.

But since you are a human too, you don't want to be part of the "problem" so you make up some scape goat like the religious, or Christians in general to blame the woes of the world on. That way you make yourself feel enlightened and make fun of anyone that doesn't think like you.

In other words, you become the very person you hate.

    Congratulations.

"Christians are mindless fucks that can't think for themselves and need other to do the thinking for them…"
