I think that this video is serving a great purpose. It's fine if people want to believe what Oprah is selling, but because this book brings up Christianity so much, it is bound to confuse some Christians who aren't really clear and are easily confused. This book claims that it can be believed alongside Christianity, but really it is the opposite of it. It is a big lie and Christians need to understand that.

I think its funny how Christians are intollerant because they have a belief, but if you hate Christians no one says you are intollerant.I know there are some "crazy christians" out there that say God and Jesus hate you if you sin, the bible never says that. It says God loves EVERYONE, he only hates our sin. Why people greatly dislike a belief that is based on love I will never understand. BUT, I love Jesus and God and because of that I believe that we should all love eachother. That doesnt mean I love your actions.
The biggest deterrent to Christianity are the Christian people who conviently forget that the main message of the teachings of Jesus was to love each other despite it all. It seems like all some Christians want to do is judge people. I know that not all Christians are this way, but it seems like the ones with the biggest mouths are. I take great offence to someone telling me how I should live MYYYYYYYYYYYY fucking life. I'm not a huge Oprah fan, however I think this "class" that she's doing with Eckart Tolle is amazing and wonderful. It's all about being more connected to yourself, other people and trying to eliminate all of that negative chatter that goes on in your head AND living in the moment. What the hell is wrong with that?

If you'll watch the tape again, you may notice Oprah does not say she thinks god is jealous of her. She says that her preacher said it from the pulpit and it made her feel uncomfortable because she believes 'god is love'.

You know, there are people out there like Oprah, and the people on here saying "Christians are so dumb" and stuff like that because they are put here to test our faith. We can't sit there and them convince us that God isn't real, or that Jesus is just in our minds. Everything that happened, HAPPENED…lets not forget that. If you are a true Christian and love your Lord and serve Jesus, then stuff like this will not bother you. I'm not calling Oprah evil, that's not my job, she has her beliefs and I have mine…and one thing I do NOT do is let others beliefs affect mine. The whole reason it's called "Faith" is because you have got to have FAITH that what you read and learn is true. I think it's normal for everyone to have doubts now and then but don't go and try to change other people's hearts because you feel so strongly about it. I would never push my faith and beliefs on someone else or make them feel bad about not being a Christian. And if people want to call Christians crazy…I guess that means I'm crazy, crazy and proud!

How does she know that this new different 'The Light' will end up in the same place? She says all along that that its has nothing to do with Jesus or any of those teachings, so How could she possibly know where it will end up, let alone the same place as Jesus? I think Oprahs ego has gotten so big that she is now trying to project herself as a Mother Teresa type…she needs to get over herself. I think some get so caught up that they eventually think THEY are God and they start condemning people to hell. I am from the South and I see it all the time. Religion is a huge thing down here. I'm a very proud Christian, and I can recognize that everyone, even myself, sin…every single day. We have to remember that noone is perfect. And you are right about people calling Christians intollerant, but people can HATE us just because we are Christians and they aren't called intollerant. I've never hated someone based on their beliefs, and I never will…that's crazy! I honestly try to stand clear of religious talk but i think Oprah is a little mistaken. It's good that people try to discuss and come up with alternate ways of understanding the world, because obviously the old way was not working, but I think she has misled many ppl with the "God is jealous of ME?" thing.
Taken into context the way that i understood it, God is a "jealous" God in that "you shall not worship other Gods before me" so seeing as to how she (Oprah) is not "a god" the quote does not directly affect her. she is misleading people.
Also, i dislike when people in authoritative positions try to impose their beliefs on everybody and don't give other ppl a chance to share their beliefs or explain their line of thinking.
anywho, like i said, religion is not very much high on my list of subjects i like to talk about, but Oprah needs someone very well versed in scripture to explain this to her, and being the very influential person that she is, she should not make statements when she is not totally sure of what it is she is saying.

Oprah needs to go back and read the Bible. God being jealous refers to people worshiping other gods and not Him. Also, the Bible constantly mentions belief. Where does Oprah get off saying otherwise.

I actually agree with the vid. Oprah is racist, if you don't believe it google her and read some of her famous quotes. She only has white servants in her home. She only invites successful blacks on her show and only 'trailer trash' whites.

What that means is, not that God is jealous of you & me but, it's another way of saying not to praise or worship any other gods. And THAT'S where we all make our decision on what to believe. There is but one God and His name is Christ Jesus. I pray that just one person reading this thread will see the truth as revealed in God's own Word, some of which I've posted. Go to The Holy Bible and read it from cover to cover seeking truth and you won't need to follow an Oprah or another like her down the path of destruction. You will end up empty and it may then be too late to make the right decision.

Some people think you are only okay if you are a fundamentalist Christian. Like most Americans, Oprah doesn't hold this view. The unique thing about Oprah is she is upfront about expressing her views on religion/spirituality, rather than sidestepping the topic. Good for her for not being pushed around.

Don't people have more things to worry about than this? Christian's (i can be included in that title) get so cuaght up in arguements and proving their point they lose the real message of Chrisitian teachings. Need we remind the church that there have been many who have tried to follow its teachings, its rituals and they found only to still feel unfulfilled. Most Christians will say those people were not faithful enough. I say, maybe the church and its teachings have not been faithful to the context in which they were taught. Maybe the Christian church should revisit the scripture: "How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." Need we revisit the Churches history this last couple of years….pedophiles, prostitution, political endorsements, scandals, money scamming….?

i'm not sure what your point is. oprah does say all those things and all those things are in direct opposition to christianity, islam and judaism. if you are any of those religions participating in oprah's "church" is against your religion.
oprah is presenting her own doctrine of belief and spirituality. and leading people in it. that means she is a church leader. that's just factual definition.
if you don't believe in the christian, islamic or jewish doctrines then participating in oprah's church doesn't present a conflict for you.

this makes me absolutely sick. christians are so completely sure that their religion is the be all end all of religions that anytime anyone else tries to find inner peace in a different way that they're going to hell. i may not agree with everything oprah says, but props to her for going against the grain and saying that however you choose to celebrate religion and find your way is right for you. people dont understand that the bible is INCORRECTLY transcribed from ancient documents that were unable to be translated. the original purpose of the bible was to PERSUADE and CONVERT, not to tell a factual account. i took a religious studies class and learned that people translating the bible made mistakes both intentional and nonintentional in order to make their story more believable. if everyone just followed the golden rule and treated everyone else with the same kindness and respect that they wanted then the world would be a much better place.
I have a new-found appreciation for Oprah now. There ARE numerous ways in which one can live and make the world a better and more enjoyable place for everyone.

if you have ever participated in satanism or studied satanism you would know that the basic tenants of "a new earth" are satanic. the idea that you are your own salvation, you are in control of your own destiny and any obstacles in your way and there is no concept of sin are satanic.
i don't think it's meant as an insult, but anyone who is satanic would identify with oprah's religion, because, at heart, it is satanic.
i think if oprah is promoting these ideals, she shouldn't be ashamed to say she is a santanist. unless she is coming up with a new form of satanism.
