For those who say we need to hear the entire album before judging the CD:
I only listened to 9 of the available tracks. Do I REALLY need to hear the other songs to declare it a total disaster?

This is from someone who ACTUALLY HEARD THE SONGS, not haters who just pretend to have heard them. And yes, I am a Madonna fan but not a fanatic and was apprehensive about this so called urban/hiphop sound. Well, I'm so happy to report that Hard Candy is nothing but a delicious, incredible pop/dance album. It is really AMAAAZZZING and is even better than Confessions. BRAVO MADONNA. ITS A GOOD FUCKN ALBUM!! Who ever is posting the negative shit must be crazy. I'm not a fan of her NOR a fan of Madonna. I'm just a guy that listened to it and its GOOD. I had to listen after everyone saying its good then that it sucks, so i downloaded it. AND i thought it was AWESOME i was even dancing around the WHOLE time. I just dont like 4 minutes. All the other ones are super groovy and are really well orchestrated. I'd listen to it and/or buy it. See for yourself… i promise you'll be dancing the second it comes on.

I LOVE this album. Kept waiting for too long, so I HAD to download it, but I will still keep my Itunes pre-order. Better sound and extra tracks. Please enjoy this preview but buy the real thing. It is not fair to steal music and it will ruin the music business. No matter how much money M has. She earned it with her hard work and other people rely on the proceedings from this fantastic album too! My second favourite M album of all time. Far better than the amazing Confessions. Amazing achievement!

Ok so what I want to know is why Madonna who has the entire worlds attention decides to do a bubble gum pop album that doesn't even rate compared to the rest of her body of work. M has been very political and embassador like, raising money for different causes, adopting an AIDSless child to send everyone a message about poor, homeless AIDS consumed parentless children in Malaui who needs hers and everyone elses help (ironic that David does not have AIDS nor was without a parent but we're not supposed to point that out, right?) saving the world, etc, etc, etc. And with that wouldn't it make sense to use her "talent" of making "music" to send stronger politically driven messages that spans across the minds of many during these hard times in order to touch the emotional center of her masses? Where's the depth? Where's the cause? Where's my 12 bucks going to go now that I won't be buying the album? It's surprising to me that jumping on the going green,peace, not war bandwagon wasn't part of her musical agenda and instead decided to make a sub-par teenpop follow up to Britney's album. I am totally disappointed and was hoping for something with a little more substance. Are the days of sticking it to the media, giving Bush the middle finger, being controversial, fresh and new finally over for M? At her age and stage in her career perhaps she should have left off on Confessions. Will this album be the non-recoverable blow of death to her long legacy? How very sad.

I have to say, after hearing Madonna's whole album, that I am very relieved. Being a huge Madonna fan I was a little worried about the hip-hop vibe that was being reported. Yeah there are a couple forgettable songs but MOST of it is quite excellent. Most of you people posting comments are too young to appreciate the older Madonna music, the 80's stuff. This is a total throwback to that sound just revamped for 2008. The people posting negative comments are Mariah fans as I used to be until she started putting out generic R&B pandering to the lowest common denominator. Mariah's album is so predictable with only 1 or 2 decent tracks on it. Album after album Mariah shows no growth, at least Madonna expands her horizons challenging herself and her audience to try and accept new things. For that alone you have to give credit where credit is due. Madonna may not be blazing a trial with her new album BUT there is some very progressive stuff she serving up. Enough said. P.S. Ok, ok, ok everyone…now let's put down our Mariah and Madonna weapons and let's try to get along. Needless to say, both M&M are accomplished artists in the music industry. Each of them have their strengths which define who they are and why so many people support them. Now with all fairness, I like the two women and enjoy their music. Wow - am I the only one here that actually likes both? Sorry - I didn't sign up for either the Mariah or Madonna camp so I'm being neutral. As for Mariah's E=MC2, I have to say that the album is very good, well written and the music is good. Mariah wrote or co-wrote all of her songs and did the background vocals for the majority of songs on her CD as well which requires a lot of musicianship and vocal talent. There's not a whole lot of social messages, but it's good over all. As for Madonna's Hard Candy, I only have heard the songs that have leaked and so far, they are easy to listen to, also not a whole lot of social commentary but good to listen and dance to. Since this is just a leak, I'm going to reserve my comments for the real CD when it's released since leaks are not 100% and I would be foolish to comment on something I haven't yet had the opportunity to listen to in it's entirety. Give M&M a chance ya'll.
I'm a big Madonna fan and I love the album because I'm programmed that way. Anything Madonna puts out, Madonna fans around the world will die for. If Madonna farts, DJ's everywhere remix it and make it into a mega club dance track. We are all little robots paying homage to our leader, Madonna. I will never be able to be objective about her work and compare it fairly to other artists because I'm brain washed and even second rate music like on Hard Candy, desperately attempting to be hip and new fills my world with happiness and joy. Madonna - our life force - even if you support a religion that denounces gays even though the gay people made you who you are today, I will still love you because even though your religion and you hate gays, I will still shit all over myself for you, all powerful Madonna!

Heartbeat is a masterpiece!
I have the entire Hard Candy album and it's better than Confessions on a Dance Floor (and I LOVED LOVED LOVED Confessions). There are many songs on here worth being singles and 4 Minutes is not the best song on the album. Give it 2 Me, Heartbeat, Miles Away, Voices, Beat Goes On, Even the Devil Wouldn't Recognize You, She's Not Me are all AMAZING songs! This is her American Confessions. I love the way each song is elongated at the end and becomes a club dance song. This will be huge in the US and in the world. Congratulations goes to the Queen for doing it again! All hail Madge.
