Pot Smokers Welcomed At University of Colorado

About 10,000 people gathered to celebrate 4/20 on Sunday by lighting their blunts at 4:20pm at the University of Colorado's Norlin Quadrangle.
This year far exceed last year's turnout. The much larger crowd was moved from the traditional site of Farrand Field to the much larger Norlin Quad to accommodate for the amount of people.
The annual event also had daytime concerts to keep the kiddies entertained.
But, the best news of all, not one person was cited or arrested for publicly smoking marijuana!
Fun times at CU!
In the past, officers have tried to catch the pot smokers. One year, the smokers were drenched with the sprinklers to try and prevent the festivities. Back in 2006, undercover photographers were sent to take photos of those smoking. The photos of over 150 offenders were then posted on the department's website with an offer of $50 for each person identified.
As for the large turnout, a police spokeswhore suspects it has to do with the fact that no one was in class. “I guess it’s not like they had to cut a 4 p.m. class to go do it. People are not all that busy at 4:20 p.m. in the afternoon on a Sunday.”
The crowd consisted of a peaceful gathering with giant balls and frisbees being tossed around. Most of the crowd went dressed in green, and many were seen playing the bongos and having small picnics.

So the stats you have are either from some government official pushing their own propaganda or are so hella old. While it is true that smoking any substance is not healthy for your lungs, we are now able to vaporize, eat & even drink it. SOooOO there goes that argument. As far as the most recent studies done in other countries, it debunks all the myths from the 60's, in which testosterone is reduced, birth defects, or an increase in other drug problems. As far as the study of 450 people, if they used a higher potency of marijuana or used another method, the problem would be solved! In conclusion STFU!

it's good to hear that no one got arrested. it's events like this that make me feel like we're another step closer to the decriminalization or legalization of the joyous herb that is marijuana. i really think if the gov't just legalized it and started distributing it to the people (give 'em what they want), then we could probably pull ourselves out of national debt and finally do away with the federal reserve (and hopefully the IRS as well). Weed is 10x less harmful than alcohol and I think everybody knows it. So kudos to Colorado cops for easing up on the pot.

Best college ever, I'm a 2005 Alumnus and you could not ask for a better college experience..I had the best time of my life and got a great education….yes it is quite a party school, I've never had so much fun in my life and snowboarded so much and the town of Boulder is GORGEOUS! yeah Im from Fort Collins but yeah we all went to our city park where there was a free concert going and it was the most peaceful feeling just walking around enjoying nature and yeah im pretty sure it should be made into a national holiday.

B) I've gone to the last 3 4:20's and just to clarify: The reason it was moved from Farrand Field to Norlin in '07 is that the school decided to do a bunch of construction on Farrand & conveniently planned it so that it would ruin our 4-20-07. But unfortunately for them, everyone just ended up moving to Norlin & it ended up being even bigger than '06…. and from the looks of Sunday it's just gonna keep getting better….

I have been in and out of rehab for depression since I was twelve. I've taken over 20 different meds for depression and none of them worked. I started smoking pot when I was 21 because my doctor recommended I give it a try. I'm 24 now and I haven't been to a rehab since I rolled my first joint. You have no idea how many people are victims to the pharmaceutical companies.

The event was very peaceful and I'm not sure where this animosity towards 10,000 students gathering in one of the most open-minded cities in America comes from. Moreover, as a male student, where do y'all get off calling our wonderful female student body "prostitutes"? Have you ever met them? These are 5,000 awesome individuals that attend the 11th best public university in the world.
