Yale University officials say they will not allow Abortion Girl to show her senior 'art' project at its scheduled opening on Tuesday unless she admits in writing that she's a fake.
School of Art Dean Robert Storr said, "Yale does not encourage or condone projects that would involve unknown health risks to the student. Nor does it believe that open discourse and inquiry can exist in an educational and creative community when an individual exercises these rights but evades full intellectual accountability for the strong response he or she may provoke.”
Abortion Girl has not responded to the University's latest 'ban' statement.
As of Friday, she was claiming that nothing was faked — she DID artificially impregnate herself and induce abortions.
Abortion Girl said last week that if the University refuses to exhibit her piece, she'll show it elsewhere.
Yale also announced that two faculty members have been disciplined for allowing Abortion Girl to move forward with her project.
I remember girls like her in high school. Kind of shobby, dry and curly hair , big nose, no dates. She is so desperate for attention, she will kill her grandma if she has to, so people will talk about her. I second Yale's decision. I honestly believe this girl is just out for attention and to "get known" in the most desperate of ways. If she were to perform this at the school, it would sully the school's reputation. Honestly, I don't know of a decent place that would allow this girl to perform such a disgusting piece. The vast, vast majority of places wouldn't want to sully their reputation for refined nouveau art pieces by allowing her to show this, either.
Also, I think it's funny how she and others believe she has accomplished her goal of "getting people to talk about abortion and the parellels between the human body and art" or whatever she said. If you'll notice, most people are just talking about how insane she is.

i don't understand why everyone is arguing this by attacking each other. i actually find this art project to be really interesting, especially when studying human reactions. regardless if this is real or fake, it shouldn't matter. it doesn't add or take away to the art because that's not the point. the point isn't that she "killed a baby" multiple times, the point is to see if people can handle what our society deems abnormal. if our society was more accepting, this art project would be meaningless. so further questions: what gives you the right to judge someone you don't know, the right to judge someone if you don't understand her art, and the right to call it wrong? we act so quick to jump down other people's throats that we don't even pay attention to our own faults.

There is no way this can be true. Any woman who has suffered a misscarriage or made the painful decision to have an abortion knows just how pysically painful it is. The recovery can take anywhere from several weeks to a few months. There is no way her body would be able to become pregnant time and time again so quickly after suffering the kind of abuse that even a normal pregnancy can bring.

Do you even understand what the first amendment is? NOBODY is stopping her from producing her project, however the first amendment doesn't say that Yale has to be forced to pay for it, give it space, let it be shown in their classrooms.
