We just don't want to walk/drive around having to figure out (more so than we already must) who is sober enough to function. 3) I work in a medical facility that conducts random drug tests on ALL employees- including our physicians. Look. Countries that decriminilize small amounts of personal marijuana but still go after traffickers are not just liberal idiots; these countries do NOT condone pot smoking. The view is this: You can throw ordinary, productive citizens who smoke pot recreationally into the legal and justice system, give them a record, & waste legal and law enforcement resources, or you can do the humane thing for a populace in which pot smoking is not going away, and decriminilize it for the little guy with under a set small amount but go after the traffickers. To use this approach does NOT approve of its use, but is the lesser of two evils. Pot use did not rise statistically in countries that did this vs. pot use statistics in the U.S., but the court system had more free dates open up, police weren't monkeying around with penny ante stuff, jails were less full with fathers of three, and police had more free time to go after the actual suppliers. It exists, and in your country too, and rather than be in denial, simply try to be more humane about it.

I think it is fucking hilarious that there are sooo many people who take offence to people smoking weed…Im a proud pot smoker and have been for awhile…take a few hits here and there and my life is way less stressful. Im someone with high anxiety and weed is the only thing that has helped me to become more relaxed and enjoy life. Not everyone can handle smoking pot in moderation..and it affects everyone differently…BUT SO DOES ALCOHOL…and PERSCRIPTION DRUGS. SO that being said..I think that the people who are SO FUCKING AGAINST POT…need to do a bit more research about it before they preach. 1. NO ONE IS SUGGESTING THAT SMOKING POT EVERY DAY IS HEALTHY:
Doing anything that much isn't the result of the pot, it is the result of an addictive personality. People with addictive personalities can become addicted to anything: Food, CELEBRITIES, alcohol, smoking, etc. To use this as a reason to not legalize marijuana is just dumb.
2. NO ONE IS SUGGESTION CHILDREN (under 18) SHOULD SMOKE POT:
When you turn 18, (or whatever the age is in your country), you get the right to choose your OWN actions. I choose to smoke pot at a party, or with friends to relax. I am hurting no one, and probably causing a lot less trouble than a party that involves drinking.
3. THE GOVERNMENT IS WHAT DEFINES MARIJUANA AS A "DRUG":
The rest of intelligent world realize it's a plant that was originally found on the side of rural roads. It is used in the medical field, which is why some people consider it a "Drug", but it is NOT a drug in the sense that Meth, Cocaine, and Heroin are. Hard drugs are man man substances, Pot is a weed that grows from the earth and was here before any one posting on this site. The only harmful chemicals in Pot come from what some dealers put in it to make it grow faster/bigger. If we were to legalize it, it would drastically cut down this type of stuff.

I live in a weed smoking university town and the people here are the stupidest, laziest people I have ever encountered and that includes the college professors. If they smoked less weed and got real jobs maybe they would amount to something. Instead they remain professional students all their lives.
I dated a major pothead and he was abusive and mean!! Its medically proven that smokin weed for a long time can cause mental illness. He was definate proof!! It does do wonders tho for chronic pain.

True, pot is not NEARLY as bad as crack or what have you, but it still has both psychological and physical effects on your body, in particular, your mind. If pot is legalized you fear people will be smoking pot before work, before flying a jet, before brain surgery… Do you also fear those people are drinking before work. Doing shots or having beers before a flight, or before surgery. NO. Because people who perform those jobs aren't idiots. If pot is legalized, it does not mean people will be smoking all day long. It does not mean your dentist will be smoking a joint while performing root canal surgery. It just means that the government can get a chunk of the profits (taxes) from selling a legal (non threatening) herb.
It also doesn't mean that we will now legalize heroin or crack or meth. See, the difference is, those drugs are extremely dangerous and addictive. If you quit smoking pot today you would feel the exact same. If you quit heroin it's another story.
So basicly, all of you pot smokers, RELAX…. Fuckin smoke a bowl or something and shut up. If you have not tried something, then you have no say.
