As you probably recall, Richie Sambora was charged with DUI late last month. The idiot was driving, while intoxicated, with his 10 year old daughter in the car!

According to new reports, Sambora has just plea-bargained his DUI case and plead No Contest to driving drunk.

Luckily for him, the DUI charge was dismissed and prosecutors did not file child endangerment charges.

Why Not?!?!

Apparently, the cops and prosecutors felt that the evidence they had didn't support the child endangerment charge.

Yea right. If you're driving with an alcohol level above the legal limit, you ARE endangering that child, yourself, and everyone else on the road!

When Sambora was pulled over, he had a blood alcohol level of .13, way over the legal limit of .08. And his charges were dismissed?

Luckily for Sambora, he had one of the most effective criminal defense lawyers with him, Blair Berk, who has represented several celebs such as Lindsay Lohan and Mel Gibson. And, also in his favor, the judge (who is probably related to the judge that sentenced Nicole Richie to jail for only a day) wasn't trying to get publicity or teach celebs 'a lesson', like the one who put away Paris Hilton for lesser charges.

Sambora will be placed on informal probation for three years and will only be required to pay a $390 fine, plus penalties. The total will come out to be less than $2,000. He will also need to attend an alcohol education course.

Someone got off too easy!

He didn't get off easy. He got off normal. Diversion, or deferred prosecution, is written in the California Code. Every first-time DUII offender over the age of 21 gets an opportunity to have his/her case dismissed (deferred) to alcohol treatment, or education courses as you put it, and probation. You don't even need an attorney for that.

Why should celebrities be punished more than other people? He got the same deal anyone else would. I say Bravo, giving Paris Hilton a sentence much greater than anyone else in her situation was embarrassing for the legal system.

Excuse me!! You think someone got off too easy? What about Nicole Richie? If driving drunk on the WRONG side of the freeway doesn't land you in jail, nothing in LA will. We all know LA has "special" laws for celebrities.

Typical Orange County! If Richie was non-white and poor HE WOULD HAVE BEEN FUCKED!! No plea bargains for him. For people outside OC, OC law enforcement is very strict on non-celebs and poor people. If you are in the OC Sheriff Dept–you get a pass. For all of you outside OC–make sure to never to get arrested here. One screwup in OCJ and you will get your ASS kicked by the Sheriffs or the OCJ shotcallers. You can get killed either way!! AND do not get me started on the "protected license plate" BULLSHIT. One deputy at OCJ had 377 tickets for failure to pay tolls on the local toll roads. OC is a TRULY AMAZING place to live.

Ummm, Paris Hilton went to jail for "lesser" charges? Didn't she get caught drunk driving, then get caught driving without a license twice? And isnt she looked up to by young impressionable girls?

If you think for a second Paris Hilton didn' deserve everything she got than youre as stupid as she is.

I realy cant judge too much because I have done my share of drunk driving in the past. However I never did it with my kid in the car. That realy is bad parenting to go drinking and driving with your child in the car. He did get away with doing all that pretty easy. The problem is most the time when someone gets away with doing shit like that with a slap on the hand, they dont learn and a fucking thing and go ahead and do the same thing again, and screw up worst the second time, than they did the first.

Re: KarlyNOreygon – ok, really?? because a cop wouldn't even give you a fucking ticket. All you would have to do is whip out the military id, so before you go on and on about how the justice system is unfair, think about how it gives you some freebies.
