do NOT respond to Jake…that is what he wants. The more you post how idiotic his comment is, the more you bring attention to him & he wins. He wants you to get upset & mad. Just ignore it. There are plenty of positive comments here where no one would even remember it by the time they were done reading. Drown him out & ignore it

    152

That has to be the most inspiring thing I have seen in a long time. I teach high school and try to incorporate current themes to my class and it makes such an impact when they can relate to current events. This motivates me beyond belief. I work with ESOL students in Florida and sometimes you feel like you aren't succeeding and then you see something inspirational like this. KEEP IT UP PEREZ!!

    156

This is a magnificant teacher…Just watching those kids so animated, so obviously enjoying what they are doing, was extremely touching. We must never let the arts suffer in our public schools, when it is VERY obvious so many children thrive on expression & creativity!!

  59. Liz says – reply to this

    159

I think this is the most amazing clip. I think Tori Amos would be so proud of that teacher for introducing those kids to such a wide variety of music, and turning it into something they can join in and put their own into. Perez, if you hear from Tori at all, please post her comments. Truly inspiring!

    169

Thanks Perez. This is a nice break from your norm.
It is so great to see that this teacher is exposing these kids to such great music and lyrics rather than most of the over produced crap they hear all around them. Tori Amos is amazingly talented. The kids really seem to be enjoying themselves. What a great teacher!

    170

This gave me chills! How inspiring it is to watch these inner city kids of all colors come together and literally make beautiful music together. Kudos to their (I'm certain, vastly underpaid) music teacher to impart the beauty of music (especially Tori Amos' music) to these kids. I joined band back in 6th grade and it really changed my life and I strongly believe that it made the decent, responsible, compassionate person I've become. We need MORE teachers like this guy. SAVE THE MUSIC, SAVE THE WORLD! Thanks for posting, Perez.

This is the BEST WAY to bring kids together! Look at all colors and sizes and they're all together with their little, sweet hearts open. This is soooo much better instead of falling into cliques and bullying. I hope all teachers get a clue!
