Re: Katie – That's exactly what I was thinking. MC is too caught up in herself to want to have children. Having kids takes A LOT of self sacrifice, and she wouldn't be able to do it. The kid would more than likely be with a nanny 24/7 while mommy is out doing her own thing. She's not going to come right out and say, "I'm too selfish to fuck up my body and take care of some screaming kid". She said this the politically correct way.

Mariah should not be bashed for her honest feeling on children. Raising children is not for everyone and thank God she has the sense to realize it before and not after having one. I do not have children by choice and I have been called everything from a freak to selfish, I personally think it would have been way more selfish of me to have a child that I dont want just to make people around me happy. I love children I just dont want to raise them. I dont put anybody down for the decision to have children I have nothing but the highest respect for all you Mommies out there, its a tough job and hats off to you all!!

Er… how old is she? 36, 38? She probably CAN'T have children, not without endless horrid invasive treatment. And even if she does, there's a VERY high chance they'd have serious disabilities (down syndrome, anyone? I grew up with a down-syndrome brother. I loved him, but I would never deliberately bring someone into the world if I knew they'd have to deal with that condition.). So… I should hope she wasn't even considering reproducing so late in life. It's irresponsible to bring a child into the world knowing that they're likely to suffer serious health problems and that you're unlikely to see them reach adulthood.
