It's a good thing Ashlee Simpson has a new project in the works (a baby) because her music career is in the DUMPS!
Ass' new CD, Bittersweet World, released this Tuesday, is only projected to sell between 50,000 to 55,000 copies in its first week.
She's a sweet girl, but….
That is a HUGE disappointment!
To put things into perspective…..
Simpson's last CD, I Am Me, opened to 220,000 its first week back in 2005.
And, her debut album, Autobiography, did 398,000 copies out the gate.
What does this all say?

I expected this. Though I'm sure she always has right intentions, Ashlee changed her image. Her fans before, were the ones that understood her "not as pretty, not perfect, punk" image. She then fixed up her nose, changed her appearance altogether and became another Jessica — who has totally different fans.
I actually downloaded her cd (for free, no way do I pay for music), and for the most part it's good. I think it's a fun CD, defo better than Mariah's IMO
She has no talent…. and very boring…………….. ONLY ON THE US PEOPLE WITH NOTHING TO SAY OR NO TALENT CAN HAVE A CD AND BE POPULAR…

People are blaming downloads and yet Mariah still managed to push almost 500K in her first week? Don't blame downloads on the fact that no one gives a shit about Ashlee anymore. Plenty of people in the music industry sell MILLIONS of records in this "declining" industry. Ashlee's numbers are downright pitiful. This is a combined effort of lack of interest and lack of promotion. I think most people realized this album was going to turn out as a total flop, fan or non-fan.

I bought it and it freakin' rocks! Follow You Wherever You Go is the funnest and most hilarious song I have heard in forever! The whole CD is really well done and a ton of fun to listen to. It's unique and that's quite a feat in this industry!

*Raises hand* GUILTY! I went and bought it for the shear purpose that I know timb. helped on the album. (I hail from the big hampton roads too) and I have to admit, there are some pretty good songs on there. I believe if she released her single "murder" first…..she would have had more people interested. Has a quirky 80's synth bop to most of the album, tongue in cheek quirky. I dig it for the most part. Though I do admit, her voice can get annoying sometimes…lol. Love to hate, hate to love

Eventhough I am a big fan of Ashlee since the begining, I also believe its not gonna sell much for the first week. Its not her fault, its Geffen. For some reason they never made a video for Lil Miss Obsessive. How is a song supposed to be promoted as a offical first single with no video. I believe they spent way too much on the Outta My head Video. When the song was a failure and they rushed out the second single without a video I just knew. I have a feeling that she still has a chance to go gold but not platnum. This will most likely be her last cd on geffen. With a possible greatest hits to fufill her 4 cd contract.
