Words Of Wisdom

Filed under: Inspiration > Hillary Clinton

angeloux-large.jpg

From Maya Angelou:

"Dear Friend:

I am writing to tell you about my friend, Hillary Clinton, and why I am standing with her in her campaign for the presidency. I know the kind of president Hillary Clinton will be because I know the person she is.

I am inspired by her courage and her honesty. She is a reliable and trustworthy person. She is someone I not only admire but one for whom I have profound affection.

Hillary does not waver in standing up for those who need a champion. She has always been a passionate protector of families. As a child, she was taught that all God’s children are equal, and as a mother, she understood that her child wasn’t safe unless all children were safe. As I wrote about Hillary recently in a praise song: “She is the prayer of every woman, and every man who longs for fair play, healthy families, good schools and a balanced economy.”

It may be easy to view Hillary Clinton through the narrow lens of those who would write her off or grind her down. Hillary sees us as we are, black and brown and white and yellow and pink and relishes our differences knowing that fundamentally we are all more alike than we are unalike. She is able to look through complexion and see community.

She has endured great scrutiny, and still she dares greatly. Hillary Clinton will not give up on you, and all she asks is that you do not give up on her. She is a long-distance runner. I am honored to say I am with her for the long run.

I am supporting Hillary Clinton because I know that she will make the most positive difference in people’s lives and she will help our country become what it can be. Whether you are her supporter, leaning towards her, undecided, or supporting someone else, I believe Hillary Clinton will represent you – she will be a president for all Americans. It is no small thing that along the way we will make history together.

Vote for Hillary Clinton and show your support www.hillaryclinton.com. I know she will make us proud."

If Hillary is "honest", then someone is going to have to explain to me what honest really means. See, I thought an honest person didn't lie or make up stories (for instance saying that you landed in a foreign country and were dodging bullets as you were getting out of your aircraft, and then having someone else prove that that never happened, or saying that your daughter was jogging around the World Trade Centers the morning they were attacked and then everyone finds out that the daughter was no where near the WTC). That woman would tell you she has Oompla Loompas making chocolate for her if she thought it would get your vote. She's a bold-faced liar and it has been proven time and time again. Why does anyone think she "honest?" Jesus, have mercy on us all if she is elected.

Poor Dr. Angelou has not been right in the mind for some time now. Her daughter (an Obama supporter) has been trying to help her get well. Dementia is a terrible thing. Hillary's just taking advantage of this poor old woman!

Hillary will never have my vote because she is so men, dishonest and spiteful. Just look at the bull she is trying to spin today- saying that she's winning the popular vote count by including MI and FL. I see why Bill cheated on her all those years. She's not a woman. She's part man, wilderbeast and pit bull!!!

OBAMA ALL THE WAY BABY :) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    122

the $10 million she claims to have raised is bogus.

Everyone knows that she won Pennsylvania by less than 10%. But here's the thing: it is A KNOWN FACT that Republicans were going in and voting for her, because they want her to run against Mccain because if he is forced to run against Obama, he will most certainly face a greater risk of loosing.

AND independents aren't allowed to vote in democratic primaries, etc, and they are more inclined to vote OBAMA.

Ok, hillary, if you really raised that $10 mil in record time, let's see who and where it came from!!! Lobbyists? Corporations? Your own checkbook??? BACK YOUR STATEMENTS UP WITH FACTS(paperwork).

I wish they would just pick a candidate and get this over with. That way when I go to vote, my husband will vote for Hilliary and I will knock his vote out by backing McCain. I can't take potentially another 8 years of Clinton's.

  37. Obama won more delegates in Texas!!!! says – reply to this

    137

I would vote for Hillary if she wins the nomination, but she can't. It's mathematically impossible. If the superdelegates decide to overrule what the people decide, then we are bordering on something called fascism. When this group of "elite" democrats tell the people that we cannot make our own decisions and they have to decide for us. That sounds crazy, but it's what Clinton wants them to do. I've told my friends many times, that it seems like a majority of the population is not smart or rational enough to make an educated vote. There are many times I get frustrated with people's ignorance, for the reasons they give they are voting for a particular candidate or party. But we live in democracy, and despite what I think, we should all get what the majority decides. That's called a democracy. Clinton's not here for the good of the country; she is just too proud and cannot accept the fact that she did not run a good enough campaign to beat what some people refer to as a rookie. Anyway, if clinton steals the nomination, I'll choose not to vote in hopes that the Democratic party will not make this mistake again. I rather suffer 4 more years to ensure that history books are written with this good lesson, and hopefully this never happens again.

hillary IS NOT EXPERIENCED. She has the experience of having been married to a president, and 2 bogus terms in the senate, but honestly, John fucking MCCAIN has more 'experience' than she does, and well, look at how fit he is to run our country *note the sarcasm* and if you made a list of the things she's accomplished politically vs. what she's failed at, the 'failed at' list is WAY LONGER.

Hillary Clinton is the BEST choice for President. Her stance on healthcare, her knowledge of policy, her extensive foreign relations experience, her service on the senate arms comittee, her breadth and depth of knowledge on governance, all make her the more intelligent choice for President.
Hillary and Bill Clinton have been attacked by the Republican smear machine for DECADES, and guess what— NOTHING was found, they did NOTHING wrong, all the time spent on watergate, this-gate and that-gate proved to be false accusations.
Obama– within the last YEAR; he's had the Rezko controversy, the Reverend Wright controversy, the McClurkin controversy, the "elitist" controversy, and NONE of it has gone away yet…. people REALLY think he's more electable??? On top of ALL of that… the fact that he was only in the Senate for A YEAR before he started running? McCain would CREAM Obama in the general election.

I find their marriage to be a total Sham!!!! if she can lie to him and say she forgives him for all of his infidelities then she is surely capable of lying to us! A strong woman i identify with would not tolerate this disrespect and would not submit to the disgrace he caused her and her family..all the while in office!!! I mean please…this woman is a bottom feeder!!! she is a set-back to women and she is lying to u…would u forgive and standby ur man after he so universally disgraced u? i should hope if u answere no u will not vote for her…and dont get me started on the rest of their record in politics…

Republicans hated bill, and they hate hillary just as much, they consider her a traitor (SHE USED TO BE A REPUBLICAN). There is no way she can win this fall. Yet Obama has numerous Republicans that are fed up with Bush, the war, and more of the same politics that are willing to vote for him over Mccain.

    OBAMA 08

    So, let me resume:
Maya Angelou - intelligent, beautiful soul- endorses Hillary Clinton because she has known and loved her for many years…
Oprah Winfrey- self-righteous hag- endorses Obama because it seemed like such a cool idea to have a black president…

    Let's see which one I value most…

    OBAMA IS A PROVEN LIAR
Time and time again I'm reminded of how classless people Obama's supporters really are. What a bunch of hypocrites. They keep on trashing the other democratic candidate while saying how Hillary's attacks are ruining it for Obama. Just look at the comments here, how many Clinton voters can you see writing shit about Nobama compared to what you guys write about Hillary? There's nothing to say about Obama BECAUSE HE HAS DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. He sat in the senate for a few years pressing 'present' hundreds of times and missing over 40% of the votes. He has done nothing but befriending with terrorists like Rashid Khalidi and William Ayers and criminals like Rezko. And he still keeps lying about it. You're just as hypocrite as the person you're voting for. "Change", yeah right. Same old, same old. If you haven't noticed we have a lying incompetent president even now. Why vote another?

I dont know about obama. he doesnt respect this country enough to cover his heart with his hand during the pledge of allegiance. f that! i also heard his wife just started respecting this country. if you dont respect this country, why would you be any good at running it.

You hypocrite republicans on this blog, consider this. You justify the war in Iraq, that by going to war, sure many Americans will die, even innocent children, men and women alike, but we go to war nonetheless, because in the end it will save lives. Then why are you against stem cell research???? In the end it SAVES LIVES!!!! Republicans cannot form a rational thought. Put down your bibles and pick up a history book.

It just shows me what bad judgement this woman has. Like we were not going to see the clips of her waving exiting the plane or helicoper she flew in on. This is one lie among many.
    She is a total phony.

So is Obama. If he had no idea his preacher was such a racist then he is a f'n idiot too. I would have more respect if he said he did know. Such political bullshit and lies. He has the lots of people fooled.

As for inventions — the U.S. is inventing and China is stealing it all for free. We need to wake up and start taking care of THIS country. Its falling apart before our very eyes.

I've said it before, and I will say it again. The inner intelligence of the US (CIA and various other groups) is way too sophisticated and informed to allow the country to launch this kind of war just because a president has a bug up his ass and feels like it. There is a whole lot that is not being released to the public. I think the higher ups in the government know something that is brewing over there that we don't. 9/11 was just an excuse. The US has wanted to shake up the middle east for a very long time. I'm not supporting the war, just saying I think there is a whole lot more going on than the public realizes.

Re: Eddie – I agree with you. The terrorist are going to have a field day with the US if Obama gets elected. They are going to screw with us terribly if that guy gets in office. You put a guy in office who is so adimately opposed to us in the middle east, get everyone's hopes up for "change! change! change!" And then, wham-o. What are you going to do now, Obama? Hillary's OK, and I am confident she will rise to the occasion and keep throops over there if she feels like it is necessary. But McCain, nobody will fuck with him. McCain is tough as nails and doesn't give a shit what other people think. We are safest with McCain.

Yay Maya!!! One of the most celebrated authors in the history of the written word, Angelou's integrity is beyond reproach. For her to endorse Hillary Clinton rather than that all-talk, no experience opponent, Barack Obama, is incredibly telling and significant. Angelou, a lifelong champion of civil rights, especially those of black people. In choosing Hillary over a black candidate, she sends a very strong message that Obama is SORELY unqualified and that he would not do a good job as president.

Couldn't agree more!! Listen to Maya; she knows what's going on with this election!! Go Hillary!!
