Tom's Return To Oprah

Filed under: TV News > Film Flickers > Tom Cruise > Katie Holmes > Oprah Winfrey

tomcruise1.jpg

Despite the dozens of films he's been in or the awards (however few) he's received, Tom Cruise' s memorable appearance on Oprah will forever live with him.

You know which one we're talking about.

Couch jumping!!!!!!!

Cruise has not returned as a guest on Oprah since that last appearance, almost three years ago, on June 23, 2005. If you recall, he was on the show to promote his film, War of the Worlds. But no one remembers that. Just the fact that he went couch crazy, jumping over his love for Katie Holmes, which he then dragged out on set. Forcibly. Like an animal!

Well, Tom is going back for more!

Neither the date of the new Oprah appearance nor the topic of the new show with Cruise have been release, but they better mention the couch incident!

Tom doesn't have a new movie to promote. He's just going on for the sake of going on.

Publicity stunt during May sweeps!

Wonder if Tom will pull out Katie on set again while he's on Oprah? And will baby Suri make an appearance as well?

That'd be a ratings boost.

Suri speaks!

Update:

It is rumored that Oprah is taping a show at Tom's Colorado house next Friday. The show will tentatively air Monday, the 5th of May, his "25-year anniversary" in film.

I noticed almost every time a scientologist is in a movie or on television the attacks on scientology increase. strange phenom. wonder if its intentional?

I do not think that what he clamis as a religon should even be considered a religon but what ever floats your boat. I just think when you start acting like an alien yourself it has gone a little to far.

How creepy is this?!? Anybody who cozies up to Scientologists is, well, a SCIENTOLOGIST, or so it seems. Will Smith, anyone?

Oprah is NOT a Scientologist! She would never join that religion. She's too smart.

Scientology FREAK! I hope one day he becomes deprogrammed from his brainwashing and looks back at his life and realizes how much of a waste it was……….It really is a cult….made by a man that said the way to get rich wasn't writing science fiction, it was to create your own religion. And L. Ron Hubbard was good friends with Alistair Crowley, a known satanist.

    107

I really don't get what today's media obsession is with Tom Cruise on Oprah. He was acting silly and jumped on a couch? Why is this being so blow out of proportion? Actually to say it's being blown out of proportion is a major, major understatement. It made national news probably more than the war in Iraq, the genocide in Darfur and the hijacking of our democracy by criminals combined. Let's get some perspective for Jesus sake and get upset about people dying for no reason and American's losing basic civil rights everyday.

  9. Oprah who?? says – reply to this

    109

I don't care who is on Oprah, I never watch her show anymore. I don't get a person who would rather sit on a couch and have a pity party for Aniston complete with the bubblies, because she was done wrong ( although that has never been proven). But yet she will have Julia Roberts on the show even though Roberts flaunted her affair for years. So I guess its ok for a woman to steal another mans husband as long as it not her friend's husband?

Before I started reading about scientology, I thought it was an eccentric joke religion that fleeced its members and nothing more. NOW I know its destructive nature and feel compelled to pass this important information on to others.

    *
    *
I am thoroughly disgusted that Oprah would give Tom Cruise a platform to attempt to reconnect with his audience again. Tom has completely abused his 'fame' and 'celebrity' by representing a cult which has highly questionable standing. I am personally revolted that Oprah would try to give legitimacy to Tom and his cause(s).
    *
    *
    *
If this is once again some puff PR piece, designed to put Tom in a very favourable light, I will really start to question her connection to this cult and its members.

This is an obvious attempt to try and 'humanise' Tom in the eyes of the public. He's a father, he's a husband, he's a good cook, he's a … you get the picture right?
Show him at home with the kids. Just a normal happy family.
Problem with this is that most of the public will swallow this rubbish.
    `
    `
    `
But the truth is Tom uses his celebrity to meet with government, legislators, education departments, police and fire departments and big business as a representative for the cult of scientology. He does this to introduce their rubbish philosophy and to push their front groups. He is scientology's number one PR tool. His star is falling and he is on Oprah to get back into favor with the all american audience.
    `
    `
The leadership of scientology have hard on's when Tom, John Trav and others get on tv, do movies etc. Because they in turn promote this a scientology 'win'. Celebrities help 'legitimize' their cause and give them greater acceptability in the eyes of the general public.
This is a CULT. A CULT. No two ways about it.
    `
    `
Tom's appearance is highly offensive to those who have been used, tormented, lied to, stolen from, hurt, harassed, bullied and even murdered by $cientology practises. Beyond this Tom is a promotion tool for scientology.
Justice would be served better if the whole world classified it as Germany does, as a cult whose primary objective is to make money.

    Ok. Let's go crazy:

David Beckham moved to LA and lives next door to Tom Cruise. They are very good friends. BigB quit his excellent career in Europe to play for a lousy soccer team in America, which is partly owned by Cruise. Beckham has named his son after him. And they "often enjoy a glass of champagne together."

    My question is simply:

… what, what, in the butt?

Since this interview is going to take place at his home, I think Colorado Anons should peacefully picket his residence (or somewhere near it). Scientologist have the nerve to picket anti-scieno critics homes, it's only fair (game) that Tom gets the same treatment. Let's see if he'd like that.

Shes just in it because he is, and he basically controls her life now that they are married. She is suffering because she cant visit her family and friends as often. All she does now is stand in the background when Tom gets all the attention. Her career is suffering because of him. I think she also hates when Tom does his whole arrogant attention thing when in public because she says that hes actually normal at home. She just hates that they always have to appear perfect in public and cant just go to the supermarket or the park in sweatpants and t-shirt. no way he wont even think of that. i think hes just an arrogant and controlling ass and that she should seriously get him to change or break up or something. sucks for Suri though

    ***NEWS FLASH***

Here’s what Scientology is all about.

Scientologists believe that they\’ve lived previously and take on a new body when the old one dies.

Scientologists believe that in each life time, they suffer traumatic events subconsciously. Scientology helps find and resolve these, in order for you to achieve greater ability.

Scientologists believe they can exteriorize. ie.leave their body and travel across time and space and return.

Scientologists believe that earth is a prison where an evil alien ruler brought souls of people from his galaxy 75 Trillion years ago to die. These souls are now attached to your body which restricts your ability.

The media didn't misrepresent him, because they didn't have to; they simply showed his current crop of tapes. Oh, and Scientology is not a religion. `
Tom Cruise is effectively a celebrity advocate… he's arguing for his faith. He is a poster boy for his faith. He wants to change the way the education system is run in this county, the way that mental health is run in this country…. His views should be tested against empirical fact, against the evidence."

Tommy boy is coming to the end of his career. $cientology has been his downfall in the sense that he will never realize a lifelong acting career like, say Charlton Heston (RIP). Tom needs to leave the cult, bitch slap poor Katie just to snap her out of the trance (he put her in), eviscerate on TV about the evil's of the Cult, and boo hoo like an Evangelist caught on monday with the whore from sunday. He needs to save the career and bring down the cult. So then i could watch Interview again cuz this boycott is interfering with my Vamp movies.

    171

If Tom Cruise wants to be part of his religion or cult, as some call it, then let him. It's his choice what he believes just like it's mine or your choice what we believe. I wouldn't want anyone harrassing me because of my beleifs just like you wouldn't want someone with different beliefs harrassing you. It's a very hypocritical standpoint to attack people because you think you have superior beliefs then them. Even if Tom Cruise or John Travolta wanted to spend a billion dollars on their religion it's still they're choice. Leave them and their families alone.
