There isn't a "mess" in Florida and Michigan. They knowingly and purposely did not follow the rules. I take that back - Florida is a fucking mess anytime there is an election.
If Florida and Michigan wanted to count, they should have done what the party told them to do, and not schedule their primaries so early. The states knew that going against the party would mean their primaries would not count, and the candidates all agreed not to campaign there. Hillary went against her word and campaigned in both states. She made sure Obama's name was not even on the ballot in Michigan, and that write-in votes did not count!! She barely beat Kucinich in Michigan, and they were the only 2 candidates on the ballot. Now wants the votes to count. Shocking!
I have realized that it makes absolutely no difference who wins. there is no way in hell americans will elect a republican this time, no way we could be that stupid. however that doznt mean it will be garden of eden time. we cant suddenly pull out of iraq. there is no money for a universal health care plan. obama will be lost in an endless circular debate about race and hilary will be constantly defending bill, but at least we will be allowed to pay some taxes to help dig ourselves in for the dems 2nd term. we need a viable third option, a different party.
There WAS a resolution. The Democrats in Florida and Michigan agreed that their delegates would not count if they chose to hold primaries early. They went ahead and held them early. The candidates agreed not to campaign in those stats. Obama took his name off the ballot in Michigan but could not take it off in Florida. Clinton, at the last moment, campaigned anyway. Later, when it was clear she might not win, she decided that the voters in those stats had been cheated. Oddly she hadn't felt that way before the vote, and no doubt she wouldn't feel that way if she hadn't won.
The elections should not be counted. Their delegates should be seated to take part in building the party platform. The end.
WHY find a solution? The DNC told MI and FL not to move their primaries or they'd be denied delegates, they did it anyway and were punished for it. There has to be some accountability. So if Hills is going to blame ANYONE, it should be the IDIOT Dems in these states who decided to fuck it up. PERIOD. You can't change the rules when they don't go your way. I'm so sick of BOTH of them.

I do not think Obama would win the general election. McCain will tear him a new one. People can try to pretend Florida and Michigan never happened, but the point of these primaries is to figure out who can win the general election. Hillary has won most of the large states. Her votes will not automatically go to Obama in the general election. I'm one of the many people who will vote for McCain if she doesn't get the nomination. However, it will make an exciting election!!!

I am sorry but Florida and Michigan's political officials agreed to not have their votes count due to early primaries and the nominees agreed not to campaign there or have the electoral votes count. Obama was not even on the ticket in the Michigan primary due to this. Hillary can not go back and say that it needs to be resovled and have those votes counted after the fact jsut because she did well (especially on a primary ticket where she was the only candidate). I think it is slimey to go back on her word, just becuase it works to her benefit. I gaurantee that if she had lost those states this would not be an issue. I feel bad that the votes did not count for the citizens, but that is their political officials fault.,
Hillary was the ONLY candidate to have the audacity to put her name on the ballots in those states, when the other candidates were clearly following party rules. Those states therefor should not count, because as great a president as Hillary could be, there's no denying the fact that the Clinton's will do absolutely ANYTHING to hang on to power, even destroying their own party if they must.

Yes, this is a celebrity gossip forum, but I think it's awesome that he also mentions politics occassionally. While I do not agree with his political leanings, that does not make him too stupid or uninformed to have an opinion and to voice that opinion on his own forum. Unlike most of us posting on here, he was smart enough to come up with a great idea and capitalize on it (the idea being this website), so we should really respect that, because it takes intelligence and effort. I don't think we should seat the delegates from MI and FL unless they are divided evenly between the candidates, but I also don't think that we should resort to name-calling and unkindness just because we don't agree with someone.

There is no mess in Florida. Both candidates agreed and signed something before the elections took place. As a Florida voter, we knew ahead of time as well. The results would not have been the same if either a) Obama was even on the ballot in Michigan or b) voters knew ahead of time that their vote would count or c) either of the candidates had a chance to campaign. When Hillary was the frontrunner this wasn't an issue, but now all of a sudden she needs those votes to even catch up to Obama so it has become an issue? ummm…I live in Florida, and everyone was on the ballot. I know that wasn't the case in Michigan, but in both states Hill did NOT campaign. And the people did not vote for the early primary–that was done by the republican dominated legislature. I don't know of any democrats who voted for that one. Don't you think my vote should count as much as yours? Maybe at least half as much since I have the unfortunate reality of living in a state dominated by a republican legislature?

How is it even possible that Hilary is running for President when in this country a husband and wife are considered a single entity and by constitutional law a President can only serve 2 terms. Why should Hillary's delegates count in Florida and Michigan? Those states were warned that if they moved up their primaries, the delegates would NOT count. Furthermore, since the delegates wouldn't count, Obama didn't put himself on the ballot.
If people think it's unfair that Hillary's votes from Florida aren't counted, they need to consider how incredibly unfair it would be if those delegates were counted when Barack Obama didn't even participate in that primary. She would effectively steal the nomination.

Hil (and her supporters) need to stop with the "solve the Florida and Michigan problem!!!" Perez- Michigan and Florida are gone gone gone. The states cannot afford to hold another election, and counting the votes from the past primary is obviously not the answer.
Also Michigan will never happen because many Michigan Democrats voted for Romney when they thought the primary wouldn't count. (They voted based on sabotaging the Republican primaries). If there is a revote, these voters who voted in the Republican primary will not be able to vote in the second Democratic primary.
It's just not going to happen. Florida and Michigan were the ones who screwed up in the end. It's over.

The DNC set the rules a long, long time ago in the campaign and told Michigan and Florida that if they moved their primaries forward that their votes would be invalidated. So, everybody except Hillary opted to not bother campaigning there. She won a vote that did not and could not be counted and now that she's in a hole with a complete mathematic impossibility of winning, she, like these reader comments, are scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas on how to get into the general election, including savagely attacking somebody within her own party.
I think in such an important race for the Presidency of the USA, no state should be left out of these most important primaries. The Democrats have to find a way to include Michigan and definitely Florida. It would be brainless and very undemocratic to exclude them in such an important election primary. It's almost suicidal.

Florida needs to count RIGHT NOW because every candidate's name was on the ballot. The only thing that didn't occur was active campaigning. But the people of Florida aren't idiot sheep — they got out of the house and voted their conscience and could have chosen among all candidates at the point. Hillary won. Enough said. It should count.
Michigan — it should count too. The Democratic National Party was pissed at FL and Mi and said that because they decided to move up their primaries, the votes wouldn't count! Like we're in Russia or something. MI and FL said Fuck You we're voting. The candidates agreed that they could or could NOT take their name off the MI ballot. Hillary was the only one who chose not to remove her name. So you had a choice of "undecided" and HRC. And HRC won. Howard Dean should remove himself from his job.He's ineffective and a fucking tool. MI should count or revote for fuck's sake. HRC said she'd pay for it! Barack wants some other solution. Yeah, real fair to HRC.

Obama, Clinton and McCain are all bad in different aspects. It's not even about who's good, it's people choosing the lesser of the 3 evils. I say bring back and elect RON PAUL. He's the only one that has made any sense in this process thus far.
From everything I've read and watched, Hillary did not campaign in Florida at all. I've seen that said over and over again on the news and in print. If I saw proof that she did, then I would definitely change my opinion about that primary.
what do you mean we need a resolution for Florida and Michigan? you can't go an count those states out of no where….. that's not the way this works…. it's not up to the tax payers in those states to pay for a "redo"….. Hillary simply does not have the popular vote… deal with it… counting those states would go against anything ever done in the past….. plus Obamas name wasn't even on the ballots in Michigan so how do you conisder it fair to all of a sudden count Hillary's votes in that state without considering that? I think your view is really lop sided… as a person who has the potential to reach a lot of the masses you should try to be more objective….. you are just making yourself look bad now.

there is no mess in florida– the delegates will not be sat– the democratic party in FL and MI both broke party rules knowingly and they therefore have to suffer the consequences– judging by all your posts about drugs and alcohol abuse and how you dislike law breakers, I would think you would be on Obama's side on this one.

Both Obama & Hillary signed a contract stating that neither of those states will count, and there is to be no campaigning in those states. They knew the rules ahead of time, there is no reason to complain about it now. Hillary has taken the stance of winning no matter what the cost is for the party or the country. We do not need that kind of politics any longer, we've had 8 years of it!
FYI - according to Wikipedia, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton conducted unofficial campaign efforts in Florida before the primary. These efforts were merely conducted by supporters of both candidates, not their campaigns. In addition, it was Obama who aired ads on TV in Florida before the primary…so he was the one who broke the rules. Check it out on Wikipedia…
