I don't care what side you're on, you have to agree that these people can't even run a PRIMARY…and you want to trust them to run the Free World? Please. Nothing will happen with Michigan and Florida..Rules are rules. You just can't change the rules because you don't like it. Oh, I forgot, you're a Democrat. Never mind. That's the Dem standard method of operation.

    202

Why should Hillary pull out of the race? Barack has not won a lot of major states. The point of these primaries is to see who can carry the general election. In the general election, it is winner take all for each state. It's not split like it is in the primaries. Fine - we don't need to count Fl and MI, but it doesn't change the fact that they took place and that Hillary had a very fair and decisive win in Fl (MI is another story, a re-vote would be fair). Obama has NOT proven that he could pull off a general election victory…he can't even win the big states against Hillary…and again, he is not guaranteed her votes in the general. Polls show that a good % of her votes will go to McCain. She has a case, and should stay in the race until all of the states have had primaries…and perhaps until the convention. I do like Hillary better than Obama, but that said, I'm trying not to let that cloud my judgement on the election. I honestly believe that Obama will get significantly beaten by McCain…

It doesn't matter, neither of them will be president. Let them shoot the Democratic party in the foot, idiots.

  6. MJM says – reply to this

    206

There is no mess in FL and MI. They chose to ignore the DNC rules, and were warned, and now are dealing with the consequences of their actions (I realize Hillary might have a problem with the concept, but it's true).

The only mess to be fixed is the one Hil's creating. I dunno how much they're paying you, Perez, but you will be dropped to the curb should she steal her way into the nomination.

  7. Jennifer says – reply to this

    207

    Re: flm
Seems you are confused. The media is what is dragging this race on, Obama won a long time ago. If there is one thing that this race has shown is that as time goes on Hillary's numbers drop, and Obama's numbers continue to grow. That rings true for every contest thus far. There is no question that democrats ALWAYS carry states like California, and New York, so to suggest that Obama will not do the same in the general election is like trying to argue against gravity. The amazing thing about Obama is that he stands a much better chance of winning swing states like Virginia and North Carolina, which Hillary absolutely cannot win against McCain. Not since JFK have we had a candidate in this country that has been able to bridge the gaps, and excite people into the world of politics. Unless Hillary supporters cannot handle a black president I have no doubts that they will support fellow democrat Barack Obama. Obama is in for an easy victory over McCain, and all current polls show Obama leading both Hillary and McCain in approval and general election polls. Your tired arguements hold absolutely no merit. The only reason why Hillary is still in the race is to try to raise enough money to pay her campaign out of the 10 million dollar debt she has racked up.

  8. Your kidding right??? says – reply to this

    208

If the Democrates would have followed the commitees rules for that state and held thier elections when they should have and not when they wanted too, then the votes would have been counted…they have only themselves to blame for the mess they are in…

  9. The Only Resolution Possible is to NOT Vote For Dumbama says – reply to this

    209

Dumbama is not qualified to lead this country. He will kill us all with his tax increases, his homophobia and his loud mouth uncouth wife. Kind of reminds me of Ketchup Queen Kerry. Another big time loser.

  11. Joseph says – reply to this

    211

When people break rules, there are consequences. Florida and Michigan broke the rules, so therefore they were stripped of their delegates. I think it's fair, look every other state waited to have their primaries on the CORRECT date. We are a democracy but with that a democracy has to have to have rules/laws. Its old news, it happened, get over it.

  12. Christopher says – reply to this

    212

If you would read more than your own blog, Perez, you would realize that keeping the delegates from being seated at the convention is a resolution…to michigan and florida breaking the rules of the DNC. So what you want is a resolution to a resolution. Real logical. Stick to the BS that you are proficient in.

  13. Lanie says – reply to this

    213

As a Floridian, even I say the votes in FL should not count. The vote date in FL was moved up, breaking the rules, and the Dems AGREED that they would not campaign in FL since the votes would not count. Pathetic Hillary campaigned anyway, and therefore received a few votes. It doesn't mean shit- we still hate her here. Time to face facts, she will never be President. And Michigan? Obama wasn't even on the ballot!

Perez, you are such a sore loser to keep bringing this up. GET OVER IT.

  14. hollywoodactor28 says – reply to this

    214

The simple solution to this mess is to vote for John McCain. I'm fed up with the democrats in-fighting and their no-vision all talk message. McCain will actually approach things on a practical level and make sound decisions that arent' politically expedient (look at his centrist track record). He is truly a rare breed of politiican neither bound by the far left fringe or right wing conservatives. Great person to have on the ballot.

  15. Jane says – reply to this

    215

How can you find resolution in Michigan when OBAMA's NAME WAS NOT EVEN ON THE FREAKING BALLOT!!!!!! How is that democratic and fair? And when it was decided that no one would campaign in Florida and OBAMA honored that why would votes count there either? It is the DEM Parties fault and Obama should not be penalized for it. If you only knew the deep dark secrets of Billary Perez, I highly doubt you would support her.

    217

I wish the media would just shut up and let the people decide. Hillary is clearly the most qualified and competent, and don't think I could bring myself to vote for Obama. As much as I like her, I am beginning to feel like both Hill and Obama have such huge strikes against them and enough people who won't vote for them b/c of their race/gender/husband/etc. This was supposed to be the Dems big year, but I think it will be McCain's.

  22. A says – reply to this

    222

LOL…stupid. Doesn't anyone understand what's going on? The MI and FL primaries don't count because they pushed them forward. (Idiots) And now, even after she said she wouldn't try to seat the delegates, Hillary wants a do over…boo f-ing hoo. Loser. She thought she had it in the bag. And now the dems may have to run with this idiot-bag Obama whose been blowing smoke up everyone's @$$.

Perez-not sure I can visit your site anymore because you seem to want to go political and your comments are lame and uneducated. FL and MI don't need a resolution, it was already decided…

  24. A Floridian who says votes shouldn't count says – reply to this

    224

The only resolution is to seat them 50/50. Otherwise there will be tons of lawsuits from those voters who chose to stay home after being told their votes wouldn't count. Even Michigan officials have admitted that. There are tons of people who voted for Hillary only because she was the only Dem candidate on the ticket, and many others chose to vote for a Republican. These people, including independents and Republicans who wanted to vote for Obama, did not have that choice. There is absolutely no way for the Michigan votes to be settled. I'm from Florida and the majority of people here are not at all fighting for those votes to count because we know they are insignificant. Give it Perez and Hillary camp.

  25. Michael says – reply to this

    225

Yea, I'm liking the left side.

Perez, Michigan and Florida broke the rules and they got punished. The people should be pissed off at the state's party. They were told to not move their Primary and they did. The Republicans did the same thing and they were punished too.

Dems have a different system, but if you break the rules, you get punished.

Re: FLORIDA MUST COUNT! – I agree. With democracy are decisions. Florida and Michigan (full of pride) decided that they would rather be "1st" than having their votes count. That is what "democracy" got those two states. Now that Hillary has an uphill challenge she wants to change the rules. I love democracy like you! However, are you ready for someone to dictate rules and change them to their favor whenever they choose?

Perez: Obama WAS NOT EVEN ON THE BALLOT in Michigan. It's a shame that Hillary's tactic of pulling the rug over the eyes of people that refuse to pick up a newspaper before they cast their vote is working on so many people. She HAS NOT won the popular vote, and I highly suggest that some of you educate yourselves on the electoral process before you vote in November. I think it's great that you're posting info on the election, but you're only doing others a disservice if you're doling out misinformation.

Re: ekenney – ACTUALLY, obama was on the ballot in Florida
Florida is my state and its not the voters fault their votes aren't being counted—it was the DNC who made the decision
Obama and his supporters are just scared because they know Florida is the 4th largest delage-rich state and has 3 groups with large numbers that did and would re-vote for her: seniors, Hispanics, and Jews that would give Hillary a vast advantage
if the Democrats would follow the Republicans and give each candidate all the delegates Hillary would have been the nominee a while back with her wins in the most delegate-rich states
Obama is like a pimple that just wont go away—he's making the whole campaign so "bitter" HAHAHAH

  39. Lili says – reply to this

    239

Perezito, the resolution is that people need to follow the rules. The voters in those states need only to look to their state party's leadership and ask them "why did you choose to jeopardize our votes and go against the rules?" The states were warned well enough in advance taht Sorry, but there's consequences in life. Those two states shouldn't count. Period.

Re: Obama=Hypocrite – Obama wouldn't be stealing anything! Florida and Michigan Democratic committee heads gave it up years ago! They agreed to it and now they are fearful because Obama is not the "Al Sharpton" they thought he was. Obama has earned all of his delegates because normal people like us have canvassed for him. We believe and raised money for him.. the honest way. Hillary has solicited large corporate sponsorship since the beginning. Now that corporate America doubts her, she wants to ask "us common" people to donate! I would never tell you who to vote for…. but at least be educated about the system before you judge it! 245

Um, what mess? Dean cleared this one up, the party isn't going to count those delegates. Fair or not, it is what it is and it has been "settled." I am a Hilary supporter (though I'll be happy to vote for Obama in the fall) - but get over it. If Hilary pushes this issue it will tear the party apart, clearing the way for McCain. Is that what you want Perez?

    Re: Jennifer
Actually, I am not confused…and your response is condescending. Yes, there are states that always lean left like NY and CA - is that the best argument you have? What about states that go either way? Did you ever take into consideration that because McCain is moderate and has a good independent base that perhaps this general election will defy the norm? There will be people who are turned off by the fact that Hillary is not the candidate, and who will switch to McCain. For you to assume that all Hillary supporters will automatically vote for Obama is simply naive. Also, for you to imply that any Democrat who votes for McCain if Obama gets the nomination is racist is ignorant. Did you ever consider that Obama's skin color has nothing to do with it? To some people, Obama is a big question mark, and his eloquent speeches just aren't enough. He doesn't have a big track record in terms of policy because he as less experience, and some people believe that he is not qualified/ready to be President. So far, the media and his competitors have been very easy on Obama…that will change as soon as McCain's camp unleashes on him if he gets the nomination. I believe Hillary is the one who can beat McCain…despite what the polls (which, keep in mind, are completely hypothetical because there is no Democratic candidate yet!) say. Anyway, that's my two cents. I'm looking forward to an exciting race.

No … in a democracy, we are accountable for our actions. That means that when the leadership of Florida and Michigan decided to knowingly defy the party, and both Obama and Clinton accepted the rules prior to the unapproved votes, they knew what they were doing. I wish eating chocolate didn't make me fat, but choices have consequences. It's insulting to now change the rules after the fact, and patently unfair.

This is not about having every vote count. It's about making party leadership accountable for their actions and teaching people that law and order must be respected. There are no "do overs" in life. Suck it up and stop whining like a little bitch.

Hillary agreed Michigan and Florida wouldn't count. She said she'd take her name off the ballot in Michigan…Then she kept here name on and claims it should count eventhough nobody was on the ballot against her. And she says Florida should count too…This is all because she never anticipated Obama even coming close to her…She mathatically can't win. She needs to drop out.

This is the most severe punishment you can give a voter, and Obama agrees with it??Punishing the American people again because of politicians.. now we can't vote because of THEM, not the fault of the American people. Overide the rules for the sake of democracy, thats the right thing to do for America, don't listen to Obama's campaign. I am sure that if the time EVER comes which Obama was to win Presidentcy, I'm sure HE wouldn't follow the rules. Remember, he's the candidate for change. So funny that he should be the one to cry "Follow the rules!" , candidate for change… how can you "change" if you don't break some rules?? HHmmmm.

All the women Bill raped while Hillary acted like she didn't hear? Looks like you are a sideline kind of person just like Hillary! That is why your racist ass will be on the sideline while I ask Obama if I can eat Pork Rinds (with rollers in the hair of course) in the Lincoln Room! How do you like those apples (Matt Damon Supports Obama).

I think the cover would have been better if there was a full page spread of a Clinton/Obama. I always wondered what Barack looks like in a dress. Oh Wait! Clinton only wear pant suits…..nevermind!

Why spread the plague even more for "Resolution for Michigan and Florida"???? I guess all the air heads like Perez want McCain to win the election - GREAT! The last thing we, democrats, need right now is for Hillary to drag this primaries through the mud like there is no end. What she hopes for at this point is for McCain to win 2008 so she can run again for 2012 and win that election. If Obama wins 2008, the chances of him staying in the oval office until 2016 is very high - which means Hillary won't have a chance for presidency at all….
So do we want another 4 years of hell with another republican??
Or should we support our democratic party once and for all and support Obama while we have a CHANCE?!?!

No matter how you cut it, I think McCain will slaughter. Let's say Obama wins the nomination. We have a bunch of Hillary supporters with nowhere to go…who pride themselves on her experience. Although Obama and Clinton are virtually the same candidate, some Hillary supporters will refuse to vote Obama. McCain is independent and appealing enough to pull in a few free-thinkers. If its the other way around…meaning Hillary gets the nom…same shit will occur. Obama supporters will turn to McCain (The fact that a fraction of Obama supporters are independent will help McCain with chunk). Maybe you've all forgotten about middle America…they make up the majority of our vote and they have been historically red states. These two are wasting air, the the Republicans are helping out by voting for Hillary during primaries. Smart move.
    Vote McCain

Obama not qualified? He has the face of democratic America changing! Have you seen the people that follow and raise money for him? All races…all ages! If he can't lead a country? Hillary can? All I have seen her do is lie, cry, whine, blame, and divide the democratic party! What "real" experience does she have (not her own made up fairytales)? The only thing she has proven is that she will play prostitute for big corporations! Ask Stan Lee (yes the comic book guy). What happen to Universal Health Plans when she was First Lady? Health Care corporations bought her silence! Go ahead! Keep rallying to let the USA be the EURO (European Currencies) Hoe!
