Her "performance" was filled technical problems, and she wasn't feeling that!
Mimi's backing track was suffering some major glitches today. Her pre-recorded vocals started before she was ready and then kept repeating towards the beginning of Touch My Body.
Then, the SAME THING happened around the 3:00 minute mark and she sings "Stop singing my part now, baby!"
It's hilarious!
She's wearing sunglasses but we could tell….Mimi was pissed.
Her comments at the end of the song were just priceless.

Its not as bad as Perez made it out to be, the pre rocerded vocals were there for the chorus only and first part where its all breathy, but at the chorus Mariah was singing, it was there to strengthen her sound, but yeah, I understand shell be super pissed at the sound techs at Good Morning America !!!
No, she sings the whole song live - she has a backing track for harmonies because she cant sing two things at once. I personally am NOT a fan of hers, in fact I hate her a lot. But honestly…it wasnt lipsynching

Mariah's a total night owl, a result of years working the late shift. When I sang in a band, my voice didn't even start to warm up before 9:00 at night. Any morning gigs were extremely tough to get the chords to perform. I never lip-synched, but wasn't too pleased with my performance at times, even after 4 coffee and honeyed tea.

i love the different arrangment she used to prove the parts she actually was singing was live. yeah there was a snag but she recovered nicely. and when you overlap your vocals like that in a track, your fans expect part of it to be pre-recorded

Obviously there was some technical problem there, but we already know Mariah can sing better than pretty much anybody, and you can tell everything else is live…I don't think this is an Ashlee moment, just more bone for dogs to bite and hate on Ms. Carey.
Mariah was NOT lip synching…she has no need to do so or be compared to the likes of Ashlee Simpson. Mariah has so many overlaying tracks on her songs that it's impossible to sing 2 or more parts at the same time stupido. Can anyone do that??? You are so out of touch. Think about it pendejo. So, during live performances, she overlays her tracks and sings on top of it to get the same effect as on her album. Makes sense right? Her mic was live and a lot of artists have supporting vocals in the background. I see nothing wrong with it and it was an unfortunate glitch, so what? Mariah was singing live through the whole thing and if you take the gravy and mashed potatos out of your ears you would have heard that.

I was at this performance and I was at SNL when Mariah performed there. While she has been known to be lipsynching as of late, she didn't today or at her SNL performance. In this video, you hear the backing track starting late which is playing the LOWER part of the song. If you listen to the song Mariah sings it on a higher octave and a lower octave. She has been known to be singing both parts of the song live - she just changes up which one she does at which performances. Hear you can CLEARLY hear the lower part playing. She was supposed to sing the higher part over herself. She's not lipsynching, she's doubling over her lower vocals, so it sounds like 2 parts which makes it WAY more interesting musically.
