Her "performance" was filled technical problems, and she wasn't feeling that!
Mimi's backing track was suffering some major glitches today. Her pre-recorded vocals started before she was ready and then kept repeating towards the beginning of Touch My Body.
Then, the SAME THING happened around the 3:00 minute mark and she sings "Stop singing my part now, baby!"
It's hilarious!
She's wearing sunglasses but we could tell….Mimi was pissed.
Her comments at the end of the song were just priceless.

She was telling the backup singer to "stop singing my part now baby". Her backup singer did the same thing on American Idol.
Almost every artist uses a backup track. It's the reality of the music business. It does not mean they are lip syncing, it means they are singing WITH their track.
Her harmony track, the deeper portion of the song, came on, she does the higher part live. The entire song was more than live Perez. It's just a shame that you have your head too far up Madonna's cunt to hear that.

I was at the performance this morning so I can speak from a firsthand experience. Mariah was fabulous! All of the lambs were out in full support and everyone loved her and we were screaming for an encore at the end. She was genuinely sweet and funny and really treated her fans like old friends. As far as the lipsynching goes, for those of us that were there early we actually got to watch her rehearse before and she was singing it all live and well, no lipsynching. The only technical error came during Touch My Body, which is what you saw, but she was singing the whole song live, that was a technical glitch. I wish Perez would post the videos of "Bye Bye" and "That Chick" because both of those were truly great and 100% live and I can guarantee no one left disappointed.

They may not sell the units that these douchebags do, do they do somthing most of your little pop skanks can't do……Pull it off live without using "Saved By Technology".

Perez, it is LIP SYNCING when a singer mimes the words and does not sing live. Almost all performers use background tracks these days, otherwise the quality would be shit, because a lot of the sounds cannot be reproduced live. There's nothing wrong with that — people pay money to see a PERFORMANCE, not CD-style vocals.
Secondly, she was singing live… so where the hell do you even get the lip-syncing bit? She sang live on top of the track throughout the entire song. That beginning bit was a technical issue that had nothing to do with her lip-syncing: that part was supposed to play in the background of her singing it live so that, again, there was live vocals on top of background track.

Obviously with the way she sounded on this performance she does not need to lip sync. Also, R&B music has a lot of layered vocals and harmonies recorded by the singer in the studio. They like to reuse those background vocals and that is why there is a backing track - it's not for "support".

Ok I was there this morning and Mariah did NOT lipsynch. They play part of the song that she sings along with but once "if theirs a camera up in here then it's gonna leave with me when I do" starts, you could tell she's obvious not lipsynching. Plus she sang That Chick and Bye Bye and those weren't lipsynched either. She sounded great. She also rehearsed Touch my Body in front of the audience and sounded great, better than the actual performance.
I dont know why that started cause that was totally live.
