Her "performance" was filled technical problems, and she wasn't feeling that!
Mimi's backing track was suffering some major glitches today. Her pre-recorded vocals started before she was ready and then kept repeating towards the beginning of Touch My Body.
Then, the SAME THING happened around the 3:00 minute mark and she sings "Stop singing my part now, baby!"
It's hilarious!
She's wearing sunglasses but we could tell….Mimi was pissed.

The beginning was weird but, being a music student, I'd have to say that it was live cuz i did catch some slightly off moments that would only have appeared during a live performance.
Doesn't Madonna lipsing during her shows?…you know that ones people pay $300 for? Of course, there are moments when ALL artists lipsing for one reason or another. Even if Mariah lipsings on occassion we KNOW the voice is there. Madonna on the other hand can't compete vocally on Mariah's bad day. Yes she is a kick ass performer no one can deny that. When you have a voice like Mariah's, there is not much need for lights or dancers. Does Madonna even write her own material?
When it comes down to it, you can't either of them as they have both had outstanding and longlasting careers that will continue till at least the next decade. They should be looked at the bars of excellece Madonna as a performer and Mariah as a singer-song writer for anyone to come.

Dude. She wasn't lipsynching, she was singing on top of a back-up vocal track that she herself recorded. On a CD, the same singer can sing multiple parts of a song, but you can't really do that live. She was singing at this performance, no question. It's just a technical glitch. It happens. And her final remarks I thought were pretty professional.

I am a total Mariah fan and I am so disappointed in what she's been doing lately. Almost all of her performances lately that I've seen on TV have been lip synched in part, if not the whole thing! This morning she got busted, plain and simple. I think what happened is she had no intention of singing everything live and she was going to be lazy by lip synching the high notes, the runs, in other words, the hard shit. Can't you tell the back-up-track and Mariah are singing in different octaves? In the studio version there's harmonies, so that's why she does back-ups. She does not LIPSYNCH this one, just sings with a back-up to make harmonies, just like a background singer.

That was live!!, just the backing track seemed a little off in the begining. If you listen closely you can hear Mariah still singing the correct verses over the missfit backing track. She carried her self through it like a pro, and pointed out the error during the song, as only Mimi can.
On the other hand, the day I hear Madoooona singing live is the day Music dies!! talk about off key, voice modulated skank!!!
Um…. If your Live there is no back track if you sing live And close your mouth and your part come's out its not LIVE!!!!
