Mimi's backing track was suffering some major glitches today. Her pre-recorded vocals started before she was ready and then kept repeating towards the beginning of Touch My Body.
Then, the SAME THING happened around the 3:00 minute mark and she sings "Stop singing my part now, baby!"
It's hilarious!
She's wearing sunglasses but we could tell….Mimi was pissed.

She sang it live but who cares, Mariah dresses like a slut (she needs to realize that shes almost 40 and she tries to fit into something 20 year olds wear) and hasn't had a somewhat decent album since Rainbow/Butterfly era E=MC2 SUCKS there are only 2 somewhat okay songs and "Touch My Body" isn't one of them. She needs to call it quits or go back to using her voice and not singing this R&B wanna be shit.
Mariah recovered like a true PRO! Most of the people posting on here are so young!! Madonna lip syncs A LOT! For example, why don't you Youtube Madonna singing Nobody Knows Me from Re-Invention Tour! Madonna doesn't even do pre-recorded tracks…hell even if she did, they will still sound like shit!

I don't think she was lipsynching as such…alot of artists will play a full track or even a partial in the background to give their voice a more 'full' sound, but they are indeed singing over it. I'm not the biggest fan of Mariah, but I do think she handled it rather well all things considered.

MiMi sang live for the whole thing. You can tell she was quite raspy in the morning. It was her back up track that was skipping and I think toward the end they started playing her full lead vocal so she was singing live on top of a track of herself which is why she had to pretend someone was singing her part because that's what it might have sounded like.

This was not an Ashlee Simpson moment. This is a moment of pure PROFESSIONALISM. When the backing track played early, Mariah did not panic and run offstage. She didn't cry and make excuses. When her high ad lib was mistakenly played, it took her a split second to come up with the "Don't sing my part now baby" ad lib. She soldiered on, finished the song by belting the ending (and it was so early in the morning!). Then she quipped about "bringing something new…" Whatever she said, it was funny.
