Her "performance" was filled technical problems, and she wasn't feeling that!
Mimi's backing track was suffering some major glitches today. Her pre-recorded vocals started before she was ready and then kept repeating towards the beginning of Touch My Body.
Then, the SAME THING happened around the 3:00 minute mark and she sings "Stop singing my part now, baby!"
It's hilarious!
She's wearing sunglasses but we could tell….Mimi was pissed.
Her comments at the end of the song were just priceless.

I think what people do not understand and what is a testiment to Mariah's talent is that she can be her own background singer and achieve any sound she is looking for where as other's NEED background singers to acheive a sound whether soulful, or pop crap. She can almost replicate any sound. She is her own background singer and only uses background singers for enhancements. Without a backing track (or support track) because Mariah stacks her voice (look up the meaning geniuses) the song would not sound the same if you did not hear her voice as part of the background singing because I don't know any one person that can sing different parts or even talk at the exact same time. Listen to almost any of her live performances (if you really can tell the difference between live and lipsynching) and you will still hear her voice in the background, which is what happened on GMA but they messed it up, everything happened as it was supposed too to acheive that effect, and Mariah had no intention of not singing live. Also, look at the Bye Bye performance on AI, you hear her voice singing along with her three backup singers, seperate from her main vocals.
How a blogger like you did not understand about live performances in the bizz?
All singers with uptempo songs single with the back pre recorded in fast parts of the song… See like Beyonce singing, even Leona on American Idol…

She's promoting her album and a single from it. Anyone who knows anything about the music industry knows that she is supposed to be lip-synching over the track she's actually promoting.

Mariah has talked about backing tracks and I don't there was anything wrong with that…the sound guy f!cked up big time…it was just for the chorus she used a backup track which is understandable. She sang the rest of the song live so I don't see any big deal. When on an album you have two or more levels or have your voice over your voice (like in this song) it is necessary to do so. well…she didn't actually LIP SYNC anything, so it is not accurate to say she was caught doing so. Of course they play a backing track on the verses of that song- there are like at least 3 layers of vocal there. That doesn't mean she is lip syncing- most singers, especially with songs like that, sing to a track. Obviously something got messed up with the track though.
