Mr. Perez Goes To Washington

Filed under: Personally Perez > Politik > Ashlee Simpson > Lauren Conrad > Pete Wentz > Katie Couric > Spencer Pratt > Heidi Montag > Rosario Dawson > John McCain

Saturday night at the White House Correspondent's Dinner was such an amazing night and a unique opportunity! Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Thanks to everyone at Bloomberg for inviting Perez, and thanks to D.C. for welcoming us with open arms.

We had the best time ever!

We feel very passionate about this upcoming election and the nomination process. We've been writing about politics on our site for a while now, so it made sense and felt right that Perez was at the Correspondent's Dinner.

The big soiree was held at the Washington Hilton and before the actual dinner, we made it to the Bloomberg, Reuters, People/TIME and Newsweek pre-parties.

Thankfully, we just stuck to water all night long or we wouldn't have made it all the way through the evening. The people in D.C. sure know how to drink!

We ran into Ashlee & Pete at one of the pre-parties, and - no - we didn't see Simpson drinking any alcohol.

The dinner itself was so lovely, especially because we were seated next to the amazing amazing Tracey Ullman at the Bloomberg table we were at. We've mentioned her new Showtime series a few times and have been a huge fan of her work forever, so it was such a treat to get to meet her and break bread. She had even requested to be sat next to Perez!!!! So surreal!

Salman Rushdie came over to say hi too. WTF???? Ya!

Craig Ferguson was the host for the evening and we think he was funny from what we were able to make out. We could barely understand what he was saying, though - his accent was especially thick last night!

We don't want to give him too much credit, but….President Bush was actually sorta humorous. He's still a douche, but at least a douche with the ability to be funny (thanks to great writers that scripted all his witty remarks).

Tracey Ullman and her friend dragged us over to meet the evil genius that is Karl Rove. That is pure comedy!

Seated a table away from the former Puppetmaster was Katie Couric. When Miz Ullman went to introduce Perezzers to the lame duck CBS Evening News host, all that Katie did was wag her finger at P-Nasty and give him a smirk.

We wagged our finger back - better - and smirked back harder!

The Jonas Brothers are always just the nicest guys around, and we were lucky enough to spend several minutes chatting wit them.

The Jonai are big fans of Eric Hutchinson. How awesome is that?????

Kevin, Nick and Joe were definitely the biggest draw of the room, attracting hordes of girls coming up to ask for an autograph or pic.

We peeped Martha Stewart out of the corner of our eye taking pic of us as we were chatting with the Jonas Brothers. Maybe she'll put that up on her blog?

Despite all the "drama" that you may have read about, Spencer & Heidi made it to the Correspondent's Dinner after all! They told us they were guests of Fortune magazine, after MSNBC backed out on paying for their hotel and airfare.

Lauren Conrad was also an invited guest of Bloomberg's, but they kept her at a separate table from us. Sad.

After the dinner, we walked to the Bloomberg after-party at the Costa Rican Embassy, which was phenomenal. That party is on par with something you'd see at the Oscars. The budget to put it on, we were told, was way more than $1 million…and it showed!

Bloomberg completely converted the Embassy into their own super-swank party space, and it was just soooo rad. We got to meet Donatella Versace, whose lips don't look as huge in person as they do in pictures. Thankfully, they've deflated!

Pamela Anderson's boobs are just as big as ever, and we chatted with her for a hot second about her upcoming E! reality show, which she doesn't like calling a reality show.

We even got to chat with John McCain's daughter, who says she reads PerezHilton.com every day. She didn't seem to mind when we did THIS!

After the Bloomberg party, we headed over to the Newseum for the Capitol File bash.

We were able to chat politics with Rosario Dawson, who is very involved with Voto Latino. She's not publicly endorsing any one candidate - she's just urging people to get out and VOTE.

Do it!

Pete Wentz was DJing the Capitol File party and Lauren Conrad was there. As soon as Spencer and Heidi showed up and entered the VIP area she was at, though, L.C. practically ran away and left the party.

It may be Washington, but it's still Hollywood!

If the after party was at the Columbian embassy, and embassies are in fact part of their host country (Columbia) - was the coke legal?

The administration does not "allow" people to go to the dinner, news organizations invite people to their tables. If MSNBC wanted to invite Jeremiah Wright, they could.. I assume that the only reason people aren't let is if they are deemed a threat to the president by the Secret Service. Also, celebrities are always invited, Sanjaya was there last year as a guest of People Magazine. Seriously guys, get over what Perez said, he's a celebrity blogger, not a writer for the Wall Street Journal.

    Dear Mr. Hilton,
I would like to complement you on your dashing appearance in Washington. Your discipline is obviously paying off. You look positively svelte. Also, your hair looks sleek, not overdone and your spray-on tan is very flattering. I applaud your stylistic restraint, and I say "good marks all around."

    Very nice.

    Cheers,

    bing

President Bush was amazing and I know the left has made him out to be something he is not just for their own ends, history will know that he freed over 60 million people and if it had been anyone else the minute Iraq started to turn bad with the help of evil Iran and Al Qaeda they would have left the Iraqi people to their own devices and who cares if they all kill themselves he staked his legacy on Iraqi's wanting a better life then dictatorship or civil war. To those who say President Bush didn't care of people less fortunate, why is it that he had two wars to fight plus the war on terror which is all over the world, that he in his 8 years has done more for the African people then any other President in American history just on his Aids funding alone, he tripped and then doubled aid from what President Clinton did (the supposedly black President) and that has saved over 10 million lives and that does not include the many more aid programs he put into effect as President, he called what was happening in Sudan genocide in 2003 even thou the UN didn't want to.

Yes, let's set another perfect example for our children - its okay to break the rules, you'll be allowed to do it again. that's america today - don't worry about the rules or laws you pampered brats you'll be allowed to do what you want.

  13. teresa says – reply to this

    113

History will be much kinder then the liberal media of today, just there never being a attack on American soil or it's interest around the world should have given him praise by the American people, since under the supposedly peace and prosperity of the Clinton's Al Qaeda attacked America and it's interest in the world over 4 times without Clinton doing nothing…. ah of course you have peace if you pretend as long as possible that you don't have a enemy and prosperity had more to do with the technical revolution then anything Clinton did, and if you look at the average unemployment rate in Clinton's 8 years it was 5.2 % and Bush's has been 5.1% and what was Clinton's major conflict in that time Tim McCoy's bombings and still he did nothing about the aids epidemic that had begun to happen in Africa and that Al Qaeda had begun to get stronger and stronger in parts of Africa like Somalia, Yemen, Sudan, along with Afghanistan and Asia and the Middle East.

President Bush got saddled with all the problems Clinton ignored and Bush got blamed for, Al Qaeda strength in Afghanistan and other parts of the world which lead to 911, the recession from the dot.com bust of 2000 which lead to the market crash of 2001, Iran building a nuclear bomb in the Clinton years got exposed in 2002 by Bush administration ability to break up the Q kan network, North Korea signing a weak agreement in the 90's to stop their nuclear program but Koreans ignoring it and Clinton doing nothing that by 2001 they had nuclear capabilities and missiles, normalizing trade relationships with China in the 90's, signing NAFTA in the 90's, do I have to go on.

Hi Perez, looking good last night. My husband and I were dining at Blue Duck Tavern last night and saw Stephen Bing (knew the douche bag was him because he was in his trademark jeans and t-shirt despite the nice restaurant). Pam Anderson walked in, went to the back to say hello to him and his table and sashayed out. I saw much more of her up close and personal than I'd have liked. Her side boob, butt crack, and as she walked, the slit up to her hip bone flew open and I got a peek at her left butt cheek. Classy.

Glad you had a nice time in our fair city. And, um, yes, we know how to put on glamorous parties.

You look like a douche bag. Are you wearing make up now? When will your 15 minutes be up? Why won't you go away????

  19. bush is a douche says – reply to this

    119

As long as Republicans can still trash Bill Clinton for lying about cheating on his wife while we had the biggest surplus in history and gas prices we can only fantasize about now then yeah we can call Prez Bush a douche since the US has the biggest deficit in history and I can barely afford half a tank of gas. Oh and since you Elephants voted him into office…TWICE…you are little douche suckers.

You are lucky to be in a country that you can call the President such a name..shame on you….

  23. Get a grip says – reply to this

    123

Perez, you've really become quite the joke lately. I used to look at this site and take most of the stuff you said as mindless entertainment. But the second you threw your hat into the political arena, you made yourself fair game for the exposure of the fact that you are an ignorant, uneducated, liberal kool-aid drinker.

You are absolutely 100% entitled to your opinions and to support the party and politicians in which you feel share your opinions. But how about showing a little respect to the office of the President of the United States? Instead of bashing our Commander in Chief you could just abstain from saying anything at all. You do not have the political insight to make any public judgements on any politician. Just the same as Bill O'Reilly sounds ridiculous anytime he reports on issues regarding celebrity gossip.

Lord knows that I would be very disappointed if Senators Clinton or Obama were to win the Presidency, but I would still refer to them as the President and give them the respect that the title bestows. You don't have to like them, but show some class and tact, and show some respect to the highest ranking office our country.

Enough with the political commentary! If you stop listening to the uneducated celebrities in Hollywood who have no idea what they are talking about and the one sided media…you will see that Republicans are not the monsters that they are made out to be!
On a happier note…I still love your page…keep it going and stay Perez…you looked good!

Oh Perez, your idiocy knows no bounds. Bush is not just a "douch,e" he has has systematically destroyed the country and America's standing in the world and is an enemy of everything that you are. I wish you weren't so dumb and able to see things more clearly around you, but you're so wrapped up in the vapid Hollywood, tabloid reality nonsense to get what's going on in the world. Even when you're at the Washington Correspondents Dinner. The end is near for your sort of bs, Perez. Transition to music mogul pronto. It's your only hope of survial.

    Re: KC from Canada

KC - YOU'RE obviously an idiot who is incapable of forming grammatically-viable sentences. I sincerely hope that YOU'RE from Quebec and YOUR first language is French. There is a difference between being a "sheep" and objecting to the use of a sophomoric and completely asinine word like "douche" when describing the Leader of the Free World. It's simply a matter of RESPECT.
