Florida and Michigan NEED to be counted in the Democratic presidential nominee selection process!
There HAS to be a revote in each state!
So, the question is: who will fund it?????

What if Bill Gates fronted the money, which would cost way less than $50 million for both states????
And, if not Bill Gates, then Ron Burkle or some other billionaire???
Somebody needs to STEP UP TO THE PLATE for democracy and make sure that the voters in Florida and Michigan are heard!!!

Hear! hear! It's bullshit for Obama to claim the popular vote when two of our most populous states aren't being counted and we all know they're for Hillary. It's downright UNdemocratic! Worse than Bush's stealing the election from Al Gore.

He removed his name hoping to win by default, since HE removed his name from the ballot. This is the SAME old political game which he is playing, its "same" not "change". Obama and his advisors knew what was at stake and this again is another "card" he is playing because he knew he'd lose Florida. Now we have a mess, the people of these 2 states needed to be heard, so let the first primary count, it was Obama and knowone else who removed his name from the ballot so let the primary stand and count 'em.

Hillary's insistence that the votes in MIchigan and Florida be counted is a betrayal of her own party. Those states broke the rules and knew the consequences, hence they were disqualified from the primary process. I agree absolutely. It's simply criminal that so many votes aren't being counted. This is America, every vote is supposed to count. The funding though should come from the government. The money is there, it's just tragic though that such an extreme amount is going to the senseless war. This should be considered a necessity and budgeted accordingly. Absolutely every vote should count. I'm furious now, I can't even imagine how outraged I would be if I lived there and didn't have my vote count. As is Primary seasons past, if any of the candidates slamdunked and had enough to seal the deal, other primaries would have been cancelled and/or become irrelevent.
Look at McCain - he has the GOP nod, so all the other primaries are done. FL & MI didn't abide by the rules and they should not be rewarded in anyway. If people of those states are upset, then they need to vote in better folks to run their states.

While I wholeheartedly agree that no state's popular voice should be silenced, the problem with retroactively counting the votes of FL and MI is that there were voters, such as a good friend of mine who is a Florida resident, who did not vote because they knew their votes would not be counted. If Florida and Michigan are going to be reconsidered, there needs to be a re-vote so that everyone truly has the opportunity to vote in a fully informed manner.

The DNC were the ones who put that freaing rule in place! It was their idea to punish the party if moving up the primary without permission. This is their own fault. Give it up, the delegates will NEVER be counted or admissable. Campaigning wasn't allowed but Clinton and her big fat mouth went anyway - if the delegates were counted it would be completely unfair to Obama and the other candidates who did not campaign due to the violation. Get over it! It's not going to happen.
The party leaders in Michigan and Florida were aware of the rules and the consequences for breaking the rules when they chose to move up the dates for their primaries.
If we do not hold people responsible for breaking the rules, no one will follow them at all. While it might be unfair to the average Joe voters in these states, they do have some power over who they elect to be their state representatives. Even mouthy Michael Moore agrees that a re-election would be undemocratic, and he didn't get to vote in Michigan.
Besides, allowing Florida to AGAIN get away with fucked up election procedures is ridiculous. They are the reason we were stuck with Bush.
Just because your candidate is behind doesn't mean other people shouldn't follow the freaking rules. My daughter, not a Hillary supporter, walked almost a mile in the rain (no cracks about the girl in the wheelchair spots) to vote for Obama or "other" as he chose to be known. Either way, we feel disenfrachised. Our votes should count!

No way. The states KNEW what they were doing when they broke the rules set by the party. There should NOT be a re-vote. You are only saying this because you support HIllary…. in my opinion there should not be super-delegates (nor should there be an electoral college).
seriously….i live in michigan and i dont think there needs to be a revote! We broke the rules and we were told if we move our date up we would loose all delegates so what did we do move the darn date up! thats our problem….not anyone elses…..

I love how all the news stations report that michigan and florida were won by Hillary but what they dont tell viewers is that on both michigan and florida's tickets OBAMA did not campain and he was not on the ticket so obviously people voted for Clinton because they had no choice if they were a democrat of course….

I'm in Michigan. We voted these yayhoos in who broke party rules. We're paying the penalty and I'm sure as hell going to be voting certain individuals OUT in the next election. However, we can't change the rules in the middle of the game. We elect representatives to make important decisions for us and they failed…we'll get to vote in the general election. What is democracy if the rules don't apply to everyone? Get with it Perez.
