Tammy Faye Mesner has passed away at the age of 65.
After fighting a very brave fight with inoperable lung cancer, her poor little body - which whittled down to just 65 lbs recently - could finally not fight any more. She let go on Friday. Her body has been cremated already and buried.
Just this past week, Tammy Faye appeared on Larry King Live. She said that she was in constant pain but had no fear of death. Even at her lowest point, her faith was unshakable.
Our heart is sad, but we are glad that she is no longer in pain.
You're in God's hands now, Tammy Faye.

I CANT BELIEVE THAT I NOBODY ELSE CAUGHT THIS: I saw her on Larry K and she did say that "she was a little afraid" and she also made a really great comment about how she did know that she would be going strait to heaven that was very humorous and touching. I just thought that I should mention this b/c it is inaccurate.

Those a**holes who want to characterize Tammy as some sort of fraud that ripped off people just don't get it. She was never anything but sincere about her faith, and may have made naive decisions that resulted in the fiasco of PTL, but she was a sweetheart, not a fraud. Kudos to Perez for a sweet send-off to a sweet woman. She was sincere and beautiful in her way. May she rest in peace, and best wishes to her children Jamie & Tammy Sue.

This woman was proof positive that Christian didn't have to equal homophobic yahoo. Sure, she was out there. Yes, she had probematic taste in men (both still owe the IRS for unpaid taxes from back in the '80's). She looked LOVELY at the end of The Eyes of Tammy Faye (I know that's shallow, but who doesn't want our supporters to look great).
Seeing her this week looking so frail was really sad. I am glad she's not suffering any more.

There is no God. She and her husband took advantage of so many (stupid and innocent) people. Yes, while it is sad when someone dies - it is life. There is no heaven. There is no God. She is dead and that is that. I'll eat a big fat hamburger and some fries for her tomorrow. At least she isn't suffering anymore. Thank goodness for that.

Aw, thats so sad. While I am not a religious person, esp. when it comes to evangelists, she was a kind and caring woman who accepted all for who they were. At least she is no longer in pain and wherever she may be, hopefully enjoying that big tasty hamburger she had been dreaming of.

I grew up in a church that shared the values of PTL and Jim Baker. When everything happened with PTL and Jim and Tammy, my pastor reminded all of us what a lovely woman Tammy Faye was, and that we should keep her in our prayers. It took me several years to truely see what he meant……..but, she has always been a woaman of strengnth and beauty and I admire her so much!!!! She had love for our LORD and was never ever ashamed to show it!
And, by the way, my pastor amd many people I know, went to school with her at Central Minnesota Bible College. WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE HER AS ONE OF OUR OWN…A CHRISTIAN AND A MINNESOTAN. GOD REST HER SOUL!!!

I will always love this precious lady. she was always real, never pretentious. there is a great clip of her on surreal life where she was at a book signing that made me weep. a terrific preacher. I love her with my whole heart. her devastation and in turn come back helps me in my own tragedies. she gave me strength many times. to me she was family. she will be missed. so sorry for her family…

It is so sad to see people that have no faith and think she still has to pay for what happened years ago. That is why God sent Christ to grant us forgiveness and give us peace. We need more people like her. Those that can love the Lord uncondtionally and who also can die with a clean heart with no judgment, hatred, only love for ALL people. We should all learn from her and rejoice on her homecoming in Heaven.

I can remember watching Tammy Faye and Baker show back in the 1970's, only because they were so bizarre and fake. Alot of things came out about the two of them when Baker got busted and went to prison. I grew to respect Tammy Faye though and realized she was a good person. Bless her soul!
