My daughter is 11 years old and she has been watching SATC since it's third season. I bought the complete set when it came out and she caught up. My point is that my girl is mature and she just see it as a comedy. She doesn't watch the Disney channel she thinks stuff like that doesn't happen in real life so she gets bored.
