Forcing Miley To Apologize?

Filed under: Disney > Miley Cyrus

wenn1813108.jpg

Miley Cyrus has got everyone's panties in a bunch!

Now, Christian groups are demanding that Disney reprimand the tween star.

The Christian Coalition of America (CCA) wants Cyrus to be held accountable for the semi-topless photos she just had published in Vanity Fair.

Michele Combs, a representative of CCA, tells says, "Disney should reprimand her. Miley should say it was a mistake and that kids have to be very careful at such a young age. Kids look up to her. Something needs to be done."

And they want the apology made during a televised press conference.

Combs goes on to say that photographer Annie Leibovitz has "a reputation for doing racy things. Miley should have thought this out before she agreed to go in front of Annie."

Combs, and the CCA are very disappointed and saddened by the photos, and the recently provocative internet photos.

She adds, "She was the one person out there who everyone seemed to trust. She should have been more thoughtful. If she's gonna go out there and represent wholesome values, she needs to be more accountable for her actions."

Oh, please. We bet she knows very well what she was doing. She was obviously happy and smiling throughout the photo shoot.

It's all a calculated move to get more famous!

Who's to blame for the Vanity Fair shoot? Miley? Or the Parents?

What do U think?

Or is everyone just taking overreacting over these photos?

I think they ALL should be arrested for promoting soft-core kiddie porn. Annie the photographer, Miley's parents and everyone else involved in taking and promoting the pics.

  2. Melinda says – reply to this

    102

I think that everyone is over-reacting and blaming her for a typical 15 year old's silliness. Her dad was at the photo shoot, he certainly could've said no to the photos for vanity fair.
It is crazy for this outrage over these pics.

  3. lala says – reply to this

    103

everyone just shut up and get over it, she's just showing her back in the photo… it's as revealing as some evening gowns that she's worn to events etc. so stop fussing over it and get a life..!

  4. Beverly says – reply to this

    104

Both of her parents were at the photo shoot. Miley is crying foul because she does not want to loose money.

  5. Miley Fan :) says – reply to this

    105

I think that the pictures really are not even all that bad. Yes miley is a role model for younger girls but at the same time if girls are going to copy everything little thing Milez does its not her fault. The parents of the girls that look up to her are responsable for their childs actions not Miley. Miley and I are the exact same age and she is someone I look up too but you don't see me copying everything she does. And honestly their are worse pictures that she could have taken. Their are 12 year old girls taking pictures holding vodka bottles up but people are concerned about Miley with a boy and showing her stomach ITS NOT A BIG DEAL. Now as for the Vanity Fair pics i WAS shocked to see that miley would take part in a photoshoot like this but at the same time she isn't completey naked and you can't see anything but her back. People should just lay off her case she just like everyone else she makes mistakes

  6. yamile says – reply to this

    106

miley shouldn't have taken those pics. they're too racy for her age.

  7. ANAMARIA says – reply to this

    107

Honestly, who fucking cares! She looked good she knew what she was doing, her parents were there, its not like they didnt see the pics after the shoot. UGH. And these Christ groups should fuck off. Its not like they listen to her music. Why stick their nose where it doesnt belong.

  8. suaojdn says – reply to this

    108

this is so fucking pathetic and stupid. Miley didn't do anyhting wrong, it's picture get the fuck over it.

  9. Bonnie says – reply to this

    109

Why in the hell are there comments now, i see why everyone is always saying first when they damn sure arent.

  10. alex says – reply to this

    110

these people need to get their sticks out their asses and just let it be. she and her parents made a mistake, and she apologized for it.

  11. Lynds says – reply to this

    111

I do not think Miley is slutty for one! Second… the photos were not that bad. You would probably see worse pics of 15 year olds on myspace, give her a break!

  12. Dominique says – reply to this

    112

its an overreaction and its not
i dont think the photo itself is distasteful
im 15 as she is and i think its inappropriate for her (or my) age especially considering the amount of young fans she has
ive never been a fan of hers so perhaps that sounds biased
also i think she knew what she was getting herself into……people as young as her are not typically on the vanity fair cover
herself, parents, and im sure disney knew also and they allowed it
now that theres a negative reaction theyre trying to make it all better
w/e in the grand scheme of things it doesnt matter

  13. ADAY says – reply to this

    113

So showing these photos of a Disney star is not okay but Brittneys sister who is PREGO is okay?! Um how many early sex talks had to be given to young children bc of her choices? THis is so stupid.

  14. Nothing Fails says – reply to this

    114

Miley and her parents are both to blame.

i am sick to death of this issue though UGH.

I hope this is the beginning of the end for Miley and her exploitive ways.

  15. Kas says – reply to this

    115

The problem is adults looking at these young girls as cash cows. Her parents were at the shoot Mom & Dad…they said nothing…the photographer is world famous…why would she choose such a racy shot…publicity=money…this country is about money plain and simple. The more media covergae about this the more money in peoples pockets, but they all forgot about protecting Miley. Any father that allows his minor daughter to take these types of shots should be ashamed. Not that the pics are bad…they're bad for a 15 yr old to look like she just rolled out of bed…

  16. Lee says – reply to this

    116

I think everyone needs to get the giant stick out of their twats and realize that the pictures aren't that bad.
It's not like she was sitting there with her legs spread wide open.

  17. Linda says – reply to this

    117

I have no doubt that it was a calculated strategy to keep Ms. Cyrus in the news. And further, I would bet that Disney not only knew, but were implicit in the event. Lets face it, she is their latest "brain child" and she would not be doing anything without their knowledge and approval. Hell, I'll bet they set the whole thing up. Who was it that said "We like Dirty Laundry"? I guess it wasn't Walt Disney!!

  18. Alli says – reply to this

    118

    slutty mcslutty!

  19. Laura says – reply to this

    119

yeah its nothing big give the poor girl a fuckin break

  20. Mellisa says – reply to this

    120

Everyone is completly overreacting! Yes it was a LITTLE much for a 15 year old, but come on do you really think she knows Anne Leibovitz's work? She's not showing anything except her back. A swimsuit shows more. Personally she looks beautiful. People need to realize we are in the 21st century GET WITH THE TIME!

  21. sophie says – reply to this

    121

Everyone needs to CHILL THE FUCK OUT.
Seriously, you Americans tend to blow things out of all proportions!
It's far more tasteful than anything you'd find Paris, Lindsay or any HollyWhore out there doing.
Poor girl. She'll end up like Britters simply because of this UNDESERVED CRITICISM.
You all simply can't wait to watch them fall; no matter how young they are.

  22. Jolene says – reply to this

    122

GET REAL PEOPLE! It is only a matter of time when the legal age for consent will drop down to 14. The innuendo of Miley's picture is terrible. But hardly unexpected - especially when you have this 15 yr old saying her favorite show is SEX (I'll repeat that…) SEX and the City.

  23. erin says – reply to this

    123

come on people, she's in the "famous spotlight" she's not gonna stay everyone's little innocent girl forever… i'm not saying she's gonna go Brittney on the world, but she has to broaden her horizons. she won't stay Hannah Montana for the rest of her life. If she wants to make it in the industry, she needs to expand what she does, and in all honesty, the pictures are not awful! she's not naked or seductive, she's a beautiful girl with a VERY bright future in front of her and she's doing a great job at staying grounded. I say to her parents that maybe they need to have a little less involvement in her decisions cuz we all know parents are the one who want fame most of the time. Get someone who you trust Miley, and do what you feel is good for you!

Christians, don't you find it ironic that your parents or whatever demographic you came from that made you a Christian, magically happens to be the correct religion? People of other religions also feel that their religion is also the correct one. Think about it Christian. Your Religion, that is in the world minority, might not be the right one.

Christian groups always gotta get involved!! I am a christian but I still don't see how ppl are saying that Miley is being immoral and stuff…I don't think so thats the way ppl have been promoting themselves for years when I was young and britney spears did the cover of rolling stone when she first came out it was a big deal…Miley is not the first and definatly not the last to do this…I'm not a fan of hers but all the attention is just making her more money!

  28. Emma says – reply to this

    128

    everyones overreacting.
    get over it people.

  29. Tess says – reply to this

Oh the photos are no big deal… nothing showed at all… she would have showed more flesh on the beach. These Christian groups seriously need to get a grip!

  30. JET says – reply to this

    130

Miley's Parents and Annie Leibovitz had these photos taken in California, where there are strict laws against Child Exploration in photos and videos that are sexually provocative, especially when money is paid for posing. Full nudity is NOT required to be arrested for Child Exploration. Look for Miley's Parents and Annie Leibovitz to be arrested for Reckless Endangerment, Child Endangerment plus the Child Explortation charges.
    .
Once this issue gets mailed to subscribers and placed on newsstands, look for the FEDS to arrest Vanity Fair Editors and the Publisher.

haha i met jb yesterday at their house…. woo hoo

  32. Mandy says – reply to this

    132

I think her parents are to blame. I remember when I was 15 getting used to my body and wanting to dress sexy all the time, my parents are the ones who reminded me that I was only 15 and would not allow me to leave the house looking like a 20 year old.

  33. Isobel says – reply to this

    133

she knew what she was going from the start of the photo shoot if she was uncomfortable or embarrassed she would have said something about it. I also blame the parents they shuould know better then to let a 15 year old girl take photos like that

  34. ang says – reply to this

    134

dude everyones overreacting big time i mean she wears backless dresses to awards shows and no one blinks an eye and now shes showing her back in a photoshoot! big fucking deal! i say get over it she made a mistake in trusting the photographer! theres nothing showing not even her breasts so wats the big deal i just dont get it!

  35. listen up says – reply to this

    135

Listen people, this girl should NOT be anyones rolemodel in the first place. Not because she's a little tramp (which she is), but because she is a celebrity. People criticize these dumbfuck celebrities for being bad "role-models". But mothers, why were you letting a fucking disney whore be your kids rolemodel in the first place ? Parents should teach their children that celebrities are NOT meant to be role models, they're just fucking people, stupid people at that. Miley Cyrus was not a role model to begin with, so let the little skank be a whore all she wants, and parents, tell your children to find REAL rolemodels for fucks sake.

    SHE IS A WHORE

BUT REALLY, SHOWING UR SHOULDERS IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD, IT IS THE EXACT EQUIVILANT OF WEARING A STRAPLESS DRESS

  38. Christina says – reply to this

    138

This is getting out of hand. The girl took innocent pictures she isn't naked she has something covering her up its her back. This does not make her a slut. She is human. Yes she is 15 but that doesnt make her a sex addict or whore or any of what people are calling her. Get over it. She is a beautiful, funny, outgoing girl. Who is making more money than alot of people. Jealousy is what I see.

  39. Frankee says – reply to this

    139

I think people are just going over the top now. She made the decision to do the shoot, her dad was there and if he seriously objected they wouldn't have been taken. Nobodys perfect.

  40. Bisbis says – reply to this

    140

ANNIE LEBOWITZ is a REKNOWNED photographer. Anyone in the fashion industry would realize that those photos are beautiful. As long as there are no nips or vag's flashing about, I don't see what the problem is. PEOPLE ARE SO FRIKKIN BORED

  41. pinkilee says – reply to this

    141

I think everyone is way overreacting first of all. Second if anyone is to blame its the photographer. She was well aware of mileys age and the fact that mileys trying desperately to be super famous. She manipulated that young girl to sell magazines, not caring at all about the girls reputation and should be ashamed of herself.

  42. Kalilyn says – reply to this

    142

Miley is adorable and the picture is awesome. I agree that it's contra to what she says she wants to represent, but I would have done the same thing at that age. She's just learning the power that her sexuality holds, so more power to her.

  43. HA says – reply to this

The CCA needs to go fuck itself. Why would anyone care what these dipshits think or have to say??

  44. pd1ddy says – reply to this

ok this is gettin ridiculous the picture is a very artistic shot doesnt matter if she is 15 or 50 vanity fair would not print a photo that is unsuitable let us remind ppl there are models out thre as young as 12 doin alot worse if anything shes promoting confidence in ones self

  54. OVERREACTING!!!!! says – reply to this

    154

Waaaaaaaayyyyyyy overreacting…….people need get over this already. Miley has done nothing wrong. It amazes me that people are so upset over this….it is ridiculous. They are beautiful pictures and for anyone to suggest that they are somehow pornographic or her father looks like he his doing something wrong is CRAZY!
It is so sad to see such negativity running rampant for something so innocent. It is so easy for people to hide behind thier computers and say horrible things about someone they don't even know. Maybe it makes them feel better about themselves….how sad. What is the world coming to?????????

  56. Andrea says – reply to this

    156

She's only 15!!!!Stop calling her a slut, she's just a kid. She made a mistake and she already apologized. Im not a big fan of hers, but I think that she did the right thing by apologizing. Let's just hope she learns from this.

  57. Janie says – reply to this

    157

    Oh, puhleeeease.

"I'm so embarrassed!!!" I bet. She got exactly what she wanted. EVERYBODY is LOOKING at and TALKING about her "embarrassing" pictures. What a way to play the media! You know darn well, she's probably already talking to a cosmetics company and there will likely be perfume next, too (if she doesn't already have one). She's growing up. How long can she ride this Hannah Montana thing? If she doesn't switch things up soon, she'll fall by the wayside like countless other child stars - she HAS to either change her image or do SOMETHING to get the attention she needs NOW to show advertisers/studios/record execs and other potential *sources of income* that she's HOT. You can BET that issue of Vanity Fair is going to fly off the newsstands because of the so-called controversy. In the end, Miley comes out the WINNER in all of this. Her price tag can only go up. Embarrassed? I don't think so. A savvy businesswoman? YES.

  58. Nat says – reply to this

    158

    Mileys to blame!
Shes a teenager now and no one can make you do something you don't want to do! Obviously she wanted to do this otherwise she wouldn't have done it.
And judging on the other racy pictures of her taken by herself or friends, we all know who wanted to take pictures like these!

Ha i wonder whats next? Sex tape?!

    Nastyy slut.

  59. Kim says – reply to this

    159

It's not so much Miley's fault, but her piece of shit parents. These pics are COMPLETELY TASTLESS FOR THE FACT SHE IS A 15 YEAR OLD GIRL. But, the thing is, these pics lead to other things she may do in the future that will not be good for her career. It seems to me that Mr. Achy Breaky is trying to revive his career through that poor girl similar to what the Lohans did with Lindsay…..and we all know how she turned out. If she wants that career of hers to stay alive, then her parents ought to address the situation now and not pawn it off on a photographer or their 15 year old who knows no better.

WAKE UP stupid people trying to blame celebrities for your twisted slutty daughters or asshole sons. EVERYTHING BEGINS AT HOME!!!!!

  61. Brittbratt says – reply to this

    164

I dont see what the big deal about the photos is? She was only showing her back for gods sake! Loads of famous people only a bit older than Miley take photos worse than this but everyone finds it totally acceptable! If everyone wasnt making such a big deal about this then it would be fine.

  65. L says – reply to this

    165

I am catholic and I do not agree with what the Cath. group is saying. When I ahve children, I will teach them to chose from right or worng but certainly will not let them have people like miley as role models. The girl is NOT a role model, she is an actress and thast it. Parents should raise their children. Leave the girl alone.

  66. T says – reply to this

    166

I think Vanity Fair is getting off way too easy! They are supposedly a semi-respectable magazine, yet they are printing what amounts to pseduo-child pornography! And then blaming the subject of the photoshot - a fifeteen year old child, regardless of whether her parents were there or not. Perez, I think should berate VF for its decision to publish such pictures, the last I checked, VF is not a subdivision of Playboy!

  67. natalie says – reply to this

    167

everyone is totally overreacting about the pictures. the picture is tastefully done and she's not exposing anything but her back. i don't see this picture as any different than if she were wearing a backless dress and she posed standing up looking over her shoulder to the camera.

  68. val says – reply to this

    the parents, for sure

  69. lorenawoods says – reply to this

    169

excuse me??????????? this is a young girl who projects herself as pure and wholesome. for a 15 year old to be doing these kinds of photos is NOT pure and wholesome. disney is now a lame duck as far as projecting their "girls" as the all american kinda gal. lets review, shall we?? brittny, jamie lynne, miley cyrus……………….hmmmmmm

i mean I'm a fan and I'm around her age and yeah i think she shouldn't have done that but seriously its done she can't take it back i think everyone should just accept it and move on

  72. mikey says – reply to this

    174

BIG EFFIN DEAL.. honestly its her back and if someone's back is to provocative these days then we seriously need some sort of reality check. you see more at the beach and there is so much talk of miley showing her back. people need to get wise.

  75. Amanda says – reply to this

    175

Everyone is over reacting to these pictures. Like one of her songs saids "nobodys Perfect"

  76. heinny says – reply to this

    176

If a 15 year old girl showing some skin makes her a "slut" then we have an entire generation to worry about. And what is with Perez turning into a right winger, anti-sex zelot. WTF.

  77. rationalchic says – reply to this

    177

well i think, vanity fair should have thought about the repurcussions of hiring a fifteen year old who is receiving way too much of the spotlight. this is a magazine aimed for older, classy, and hopefully, more mature acting women who expect nothing but tasteful decisions. wait just a few more years until she was 18, im sure everyone would praise the art of the photo. i mean ANNIE FREAKING LEIBOVITZ TOOK THESE.
on the other hand, cut the girl some slack for wanting to seen as a more versatile person besides her wig-wearing stage persona for the kiddies.
i think something has been blown out of proportion once an older woman, such as my mother, calls a little girl a "WHORE." grow up people, get some class and think.

  78. inontario says – reply to this

    178

I think ppl. are making wayyyyy too much of this!!! The pic.s aren't that bad and it's not like she's got no top on and she's hanging "out". She also isn't showing her private parts coming out of cars like other stars around her age are…who's parents are NOWHERE in sight at all…ever….Give her a break already, she made an apology already which i don't think was needed….It's too bad that stars of any kind have to have everything they do dictated or criticized by everybody. It seems at the time the parents and her didn't think they were THAT bad…Geezzzzz, girls 12 yrs. old and younger up here, walk around the streets with less on…..and i don't see the parents calling them sluts…They call it being free to express themselves ???

  79. DeAnNa says – reply to this

  80. beverly says – reply to this

Booth of her parents were at the photo shoot. Some one should have said something or done something before now.

  81. Liz says – reply to this

    181

Everybody just needs to get over themselves. Yes, Miley is looked up to by many little kids but does posing in a high fashion mag with no shirt on make her less of a Christian????? HYPOCRITES.

  82. Sally says – reply to this

    182

I think that the pictures with her father were a bit over the top. And the only reason that the "topless" pic bothers me is because she's stated before how "pure" and Christian she is. If she were just to blatantly say, yeah, it's ok to act out a bit at age 15 instead of having this "holyier than thou" attitude then I wouldn't have an issue with the pics.

  83. Jasmine says – reply to this

    183

i think miley, her parents and the magazine is to blame
for one miley is old enough to make her own decisions she decided that she wanted to take those pictures so she did it.
her parents obviously care about her well being but dont tell her no enough i think they just give her whatever she wants for one someone had to be there while she posed for the pictures
and the magazine is at fault because they gave her the idea to pose for the pictures and they didnt put a boundary on what would be appropriate for a 15 year old

    so everyones at fault

  84. Vanity Fair is a Joke anyway says – reply to this

    184

As long as miley cyrus makes money off of preteens, she has an obligation to be a role model. It's a position she CHOSE. That she is only 15,posed for the other photos at 14, is disturbing to parents. Where were her parents when she was 14 and hanging all over guy? it's the job of your hormones to make you sexual, but it is the job of your parents to protect you from acting on it until you are ready. 14 is too young to have posed with your bra showing while draped across a boy's lap. 15 is too young to be posed provocatively in the communist rag that is Vanity Fair. Posing for VF was her first mistake. Probably her worst. Does her dad ever read the editorial page of that piece of crap? Bet not.

This is ridiculous. It's not like she was exposing herself in the photos or anything!Everyones blowing this up bigger than it is.Wow! she posing to the camera like every other teenage girl on myspace! It's not like she's going to get pregnant.
Yes, she's a teenager and she's allowed to make mistakes. If people act like this over a couple of innocent photo's then imagine how they'll react when she makes a big mistake! She likes acting and singing - whoever said you have to follow certain rules and have certain morals.
    Seriously people GET OVER IT!!!!!

This is so stupid. People are just waiting for her to mess up so they can jump all over her. The media is so eager for her to become the next Britney. Jesus! It's not that big of a deal! Just because she's on a kids show does not mean she HAS to be a role model. Most people have done way worse things at 15 than a backless photo.

Everyone is totally overreacting to these pics. They're a little questionable, but not that big a deal. The CCA wants her to hold a press conference to apologize?! Christers, man. Christers.

she's not a slut, he father ought to be a damn shame of himself letting that little girl do that. Like whats wrong with him, is money that important to him that he is willing to pimp his underaged daughter.. like those pics are semi child pornography.. im appaulled. They need to direct all their anger towards Billy for letting his teenage daughter take a pic like that. BAD PARENT BAD BAD BAD… im pretty sure she couldnt publish those pics without his say so, so u mean to tell me, he looked at that damn pic and thought it was okay to put them in a worldly viewed magazine? he is so obviously living through his daughter its sad… lol

okay let's all lay off of her a little bit guys. first off, those photos of her in vanity fair are beautiful, and very tastefully done in my opinion. secondly, do any of you remember your behavior at the age of 15? we live in a sexually charged society, and miley is coming of age in it, with a thousand cameras in her face. i know when i was 15 i was trying to look sexier and older, and the sad truth is that i lost my virginity at that age along with many of my friends. people need to keep that in mind when passing judgement on her.

Who gives a shit. She is acting the way most 15 year old girls act only because she is famous, it's a big deal. WHATEVER, look on myspace there are girls her age and younger looking "slutty", its what kids do now..times have changed!

How do we blame a 15 year old girl for doing a photo shoot she probably wouldnt have ordinarily done and not blame the photographer who is older, more experienced and famous for her photos. When your 15 your all for taking advice from those who are more experienced not to mention famous…I'm pretty sure if this was R.Kelly they would blame him for the shiz and not the 15 year old girl who is still being molded by society and those adults and peers around her and just cause the kid is willing doesnt mean the photographer should take advantage of that niavety.

I think everyone is making a big deal out of nothing. She is showing her back. Big deal! Its not like her boob or her vagina is hanging out. Come on and get over it already. My daughter looks up to Miley Cyrus. And I will still continue to let her be my daughter's role model cause she did nothing wrong.

it seems to me that most "conservative" religious organizations have had it out for Disney for a long time, and never comment on any of the positive things they do. They tend to blow things out of proportion (which this already has, and then some!) and now they want Miley to stand on her head and spin while she recites bible verses and apologizes so she can get back in the good graces of God and Country (a.k.a. the CCA). She's already made a statement of apology, the only purpose it would serve to have her apologize on a "publicly televised apology" is to soothe the ego of some righteous bible beating home-schooled fanatics. It's a picture, let it go! Please let it go.
