Famed photog Annie Leibovitz says that the pictures she took of tween sensation Miley Cyrus for Vanity Fair have been 'misinterpreted'.
In a statement, Leibovitz says, "Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together, and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it… The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little makeup, and I think it is very beautiful.”
This "controversy" just isn't gonna die! (At least not until tomorrow.)

I geuss what makes it so bad is that there have been other pictures of her on the internet laying with boys looking like they just finished having sex or getting ready to have sex. Then this picture comes out. It just makes her look like a slut no matter how she really is. I still for the life of me can't understand her parents. If I were her parents I would be concerned about the other pictures of her as well not just this one. The pose would have looked more "classic" if Miley wasn't wearing red lipstick, heavy eye make-up and her hair had been brushed! Miley doesn't look fresh-faced and young in these photos at all. Either the make-up artist really blew it or whoever did the color in the Photoshop job had really poor judgment! Miley looked like a little girl who got into her mom's make-up. Plus the photo of Miley resting her hear head near her Dad's crotch is just not appropriate for a father/daughter pose. I usually love A.L.'s work, but this is disappointing. And who knows if the Cyrus' were shown thumbnail size proofs of the photos or saw them full screen on a computer? That can make a HUGE difference in how you react to a photo.
This picture reminds me of the movie 9mm with the snuff porn. It's grainy & unprofessional looking & she looks sickly. Although I don't think the shoot is THAT big of a deal, I do think her parents & the photographer made a very poor decision. They had to know they would get heat over this. I might have a minority view, but I don't think adult men being attracted to teenage aged girls constitutes pedophilia. It depends upon the individual, but many teen girls are certainly PHYSICALLY MATURE by nature's standards. That is why the age of consent is 14 and 16 in MANY states. Men are visually stimulated and a physically mature female is certainly going to be afforded interest. It's hypocritical to claim that she wouldn't.
Granted, a 10 year old could be physically mature and that's where logic steps in: she might be physically appealing to a man, but he can rationalize that her mind and emotions don't match the body….and should make the right choice to think of her in a different light.

I think that if she feels that she has to do resque photos to get attention, Billy Ray and her mother have failed her as parents. Besides her Hanna Montana co-star Emliy Osments career is headed in a very postive direction, even though she hasnt acheived the celeb status she deserves.
