Dopehead reportedly asked for an English translation of the Islam holy book after he was thrown into isolation.
A friend reports, “I’m surprised how much it has calmed him down as he was very on edge inside. He definitely seems more chilled. He’s lapping it up and really interested in it. I think it’s helping him in there.”

Hope he learns things from the teachings that will help him lead a clean and sober life on the outside!!

2. al-Qur'an is pretty complicated, heavy reading. It's not a bunch of stories like the Bible is, and it's not in chronological order, so I'd be pretty surprised if Pete is reading it. I mean, I don't know many crack addicts who've got that kind of patience.

Obviously, if he makes Muslims look bad, Americans won't mind invading their country and bombing it like crazy. Think about it. Where is Osama? Where are the weapons of mass destruction? None of that has been found. Just oil…just what he wants.
Islam is overlooked. I suggest all of you visit a mosque or pick up a Quran, or seek why it is scientifically proven as the truth. Perhaps speak with a Muslim. They are the kindest people, with such a large sense of community and beauty.

I am Arabic and an expert in the English language.. KORAN/QURAN is originally an Arabic word thus there is no ONE RIGHT way to spell it in English.. Koran is right and so is Quran… google it you fucks

I am a convert to Islam.
Arabic has sounds that English does not including a letter usually transliterated as "qaf" which is the first letter of the word Qur'an, meaning recitation, which is the name of Islam's holiest text. Most transliterations of Arabic script use the letter "k" to corresponds to a different letter so Koran doesn't mean anything.
I have no idea who this guy is, and reading the comments here that seems to be a positive reflection on my character. However, I am happy for him if he has in fact chosen to read the Qur'an. It is very difficult to read, especially in English, but it has a beautiful message.
There's a pretty famous song in Islamic circles about the first time one reads Qur'an.

I respect that people can use a holy book to be at peace and with god, but islam scares me. there are too many "extremist" in the religion that whether you like it or not end up speaking for the majority. If there are a hundred muslims and one of them blows up a bus of people and says it is for islam's sake, it should be condemmed VERY strongly by the rest. But i still am scared. Then muslims will say "well you should examine your policies that made this person do this" that makes it seem, truly or falsely that they are all in on it. There is no majority muslim country that is truly respectful to minorities. It says in the koran to kill people not muslim "it says this in the arabic koran not the english translation btw" and it also says a man can beat his wife and women are inferior slaves basically. Re: Peter – don't hope–you are wrong. I don't feel ike lecturing anymore about islam to people just look it up yourself. It is a very juste religion but human application leads to human flaws, no one's perfect so mistakes happen. Learning about islam and being at peace, and learning the truth makes the flaws evident to you. The best way to fight the extremist in all areas is to learn the truth and spread peace, this goes for all religions and not just islam. We have extremst christians (those weirdos living in a cave in russia, mormons (at times)), extremist jews (learn about what prevent politics from being efficient in israel, orthodox who debate the legality of pork more tha peace) and muslims, (everyone knows so many examples of this it pointless to repeat but in case you forgot 9.11.-saudi arabia and afghanistan are extremists nations) there are also extremists hindus the tamil tigers, sikhs and on and on. no one religion is free from guilt but hopefully people can find peace through moderation, tolerance and aceptance not hate through chauvinism, arrogance and elitism. we all have to work at finding acceptance. do unbiased research to prove your fears of islam wrong.

I am not a muslim myself but have been studying the Qu'ran really intensely during those last years and it helped me getting through some hard recovery times, too. Most of my friends are muslims.
I don't see anything wrong with Pete studying the Qu'ran. It's holding a lot of truth for everyone.
