Clinton Would Trump McCain

Filed under: Politik > Barack Obama > Hillary Clinton > John McCain

candidates1.jpg

According to a new poll from The Associated Press and Ipsos….

If the U.S. presidential were held today, Hillary Clinton would beat John McCain by a 9-point margin, 50 percent to 41 percent.

The poll shows that when Barack Obama faces McCain, the two are statistically tied — though, Obama holds a two point edge over McCain, within the poll's margin of error.

If Hillary can produce these same numbers after the North Carolina and Indiana primaries, she has a really strong case for the Democratic nomination, right?

Don't forget — register to vote!!

Re: Tmack – You're kinda right..she wants to keep destroying Barry so McCain will win and she can run again in 2012. When it involves a Clinton…it's ALWAYS ABOUT THEM. Don't ever forget that. If she cared about her party, she'd have gotten off the stage months ago. The writin was on the wall. I actually feel kinda sorry for her. Can you imagine thinking you had it in the bag..She had it..it was hers…just a scant four to five months ago…and then…OPRAH…LOL! It's poetic justice.

Re: OBAMA IS A RACIST AND IS TOTALLY UNFIT TO BE PRESIDENT!!!!!!! – I took a class on how the word propaganda is constantly used to reinforce other propaganda, you know, ummmm like, ummm when you use buzz words like ummm like Nazi, and umm Hussein and umm Obama. True that is his middle name, but are what are you really trying to insinuate here? Let's face it, your racism clouds your ability to make informed decisions.

Re: HILLARY WILL KICK BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA'S ASS!!!!!

The problem with you Hillary people is that you keep bringing up experience. Ummm, SHE HAS NO EXPERIENCE!!! She did not gain experience in the White House. She did not have security clearance, and she did discuss any matters of importance with Bill, as this would be a breach of security. So, where the hell do you get the idea that she has experience. If Hillary does win, I bet all of you losers are going to be sitting here with Perez whining about how horrible she is! Get a clue people, she is a war-mongering, lying, conniving piece of crap. And for you fools that are voting for her because you think we need a woman in the White House…well, that is the most pathetic thing I have ever heard of!!! PS. I am not a Barack or a McCain supporter.

she's not going to get it.
and many other polls, as seen on realclearpolitics.com show her losing close to double digits to McCain.
    She's done, it's over.

    PS
Florida & Michigan are also over. They cannot count as is, and there is no time or money to redo them.

OBAMA SCMUCKS!!!! Obama's bid is going to lose steam as time goes by because of all the racist crap HIS camp is constantly bitching about. Dems are getting little tastes of it every day and are not going to want to deal with this whiney bs in the long run. And, what happened to Obama's wife? Did they have her offed or something? After her ridiculous comments about only now being proud of the U.S., we haven't had to look at her ugly mug of late.

    Re: sarah

Sarah, check your facts please. With florida she is still behind by about 41000 votes. Only with Michigan, which he was not on the ballot, does she then have more ont he popular vote, but lets also remember that those numbers do not include the caucuses which ummmmmm Obama won the majority of, so she still loses.

Furthermore, her argument that he cant get the blue collar vote is BS because most elections the democrats dont get the blue collar workers, they ususally go republican, so the issue is just as bad for her, she and the media are just not acknowledging it. Do some more research and you will find this to be true.

And why is no one talking about the young, educated and black vote. Where he is struggling with a group that dems normally struggle with, the blue collar, she is struggling with the base of the dem party. She lost the black vote in PA by 92%. Dems cannot win without blacks but all we here is the blue collar.

Regardless of my beliefs, it is clear he is the nominee, it is just sad that it keeps being drug out. When Huckabee stayed in the race it was not seen as a fight but as an irritant. Hillary is not a fighter, she is an irritant, hoping to get in.

  12. anthony says – reply to this

    112

some people on here are fucking idiots. one making hillary clinton the nominee would NOT be overturning the will of the people. Hello, in case you have not noticed with Michigan and Florida Hillary leads in the popular vote and wold most likely have a delegate lead. And even as it is now, the popular vote is virtually tied. Secondly, this is not really so much an election as it is a part nominating process! The whole purpose of this is to find out which candidate is stronger in November. Hillary is proving to be a much stronger candidate. Hillary has won all the big states and in terms of the general election she would have 288 electoral votes and obama would have 198. Obama has won all the states the republicans are going to win reguardless who the nominee is. Thirdly people are loosing their infatuation with obama. He speaks about change and hope but never mentions the issues. he also has way too many scandals to walk into a general election. McCain wants obama to be the nominee because they know only Hillary Clinton can win.

Re: Tmack – Actually Obama is handing the nomination over to Clinton and she is capitalizing. Things aren't looking good for Obama, its just getting worse. We are hearing even today about Obama's wacko Reverend. Yesterday he said he would not debate Clinton, you know how that makes him look, chicken sh*t at best. Then you add in the Florida -Michigan scenerio and Obama fighting a re-vote, punishing and snubbing Demacratic voters who did nothing wrong but elect some suit into office. These states have it top local news all the time and they are pissed and will not vote Obama now in the Nov. election. That is really an issue in the DNC, and the people in Michigan knew that Obama voluntarily withdrew his name from the ballot, so nothing there either.. Things are changing in momentum. And its not hit the fan yet.. the DNC knows it.

  20. Go Hill says – reply to this

    120

I hope she can keep it up. Obama keeps calling himself the candidate of change, but what change can he bring to Washington? What change is he actually offering? He's basically copying all of the positions Hillary developed months before him. Yet his speechs are nothing but empty hype about hope and change. Obama himself said Indiana would be the tiebreaker. And we all know that Indiana is filled with "bitter people who cling to guns and religion". Let Hillary win there and see what happens next.

Perez is a dumbass when it comes to politics. National polls mean nothing. Remember the Bush vs Kerry and Bush vs. Gore races. Both Kerry and Gore led in the national polls right up to election day. It is all about who wins certain states and ultimately the electoral college. These national polls are just beauty contests and mean nothing when it comes to who will actually win.

I can't believe Obama, after sitting in those pews for 20 years, hasn't had some of this crazy and weird talk rub off on him. 27. Shawn says – reply to this

    127

I am going to have to go ahead and say that this is bullshit. I don't support Obama or Clinton, however, I know from my own experiences working in politics that McCain would stomp Hilary on even a good day if America voted today. The will most likely be between Obama and McCain (which would probably see Obama win by a very slim margin if he actually managed to keep it together. If the vote happened today, most of the same people that would vote for Hilary if she didn't make the elections would ultimately vote for McCain, so I am going to go out on a limb here and say that unless Clinton and Obama sign onto the same ticket, there will be another Republican in the White House come next term because Obama's chances of beating McCain are marginal at best when you add in most of the votes that Hilary would get going to McCain. I will put my money on the race being between Obama and McCain and Obama losing by like 1 or 2 percentage points.

    There is always Nader! ROFLMAO!

Hillary ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT lead in the popular count - even with MI and FL. If you say that, then Obama got 0 votes in MI and numerous caucus states are not counted. I'm sorry, but I"m MUCH smarter than that. Such an argument is for fools. Obama leads in ALL counts. He will be the nominee and I for one am thankful as Clinton is incompetent. It's NOT OK to be broke when you had every conceivable advantage. McCain will trounce her.

    136

You poll when you attempt to determine the outcome of a future election. You decide who has won a past election or series of elections by looking at the past results. Hillary may or may not be winning an imaginary and non-binding poll, but Obama has won the majority of the votes, delegates and states thus far in the nomination process.

Polls vs. Actual numbers…..actual numbers win every single time.

Its not changing anything, especially if your running for candidate and party of the people. Its not change if everythings the same. Superdelegates will not be persuaded based on a poll conducted. It's about who has the most delegates and the popular vote. Senator Obama has both of those. Re: not possible

Actually math will be on her side soon, just you wait and see

She will have Michigan and Florida seated and few know that she has run a very powerful effort in Michigan which will be her secret weapon cause she can carry about 70% of Michigan because as you know delegates can flip to whoever they want and many of the uncommitted ones have flipped to Clinton now. So 70% of 128 delegates is a lot and she won more than a 105 delegates in Florida.

Hillary is doing her best to discredit Obama in any possible way. If there truly was a Pinocchio effect, you would be able to hang your summer, fall, winter and spring wardrobes on her nose. McCain is a Bush clone who will never end the war. Our only hope is that Obama will make some very needed changes in Washington. We know Clinton and McCain never will.

How does she have a strong case for the nomination when she's lost the popular vote and total delegates? Y'all are too brainwashed. Grow up and stop splitting the party. You'r handing the victory to McCain.

  74. CeeJay says – reply to this

    174

Why, oh Why do I continue to read this website? It's clear Perez and his Clinton "supporters" cannot do simple math! It's over folks. Unless Clinton can win 70% of the delegates in the remaining 9 primaries she has NO CHANCE of passing Obama in number of delegates and popular vote. Statistically and historically, the potential of that happening is ZERO. It's over folks. If you want a Democrat in the White House you'd better jump aboard the Obama train!

If people are really so dumb, then what will be will be. But you won't see this chick voting for Politics As Usual. Obama 08.

Re: Jennifer – Obama is giving the election away. His odd Reverend is hurting him, Obama' s lack of debate hurts him , his elitist comments hurt him, Bill Ayers hurts him and Obama hurts himself. Superdelegates are waiting for the other shoe to drop before committing. Just because they are pledged doesn't mean the delagate can't have a change of heart. You know that. And he may not win another state now with all this bad press. This race IS NOT over, if Obama has such a big lead then you shouldn't worry if Clinton is in or not, right?

    Re: J

I am American and live on the east coast. While I appreciate any type of debate regarding the election, it is unfortunate that people can't educate themselves instead of jumping on a bandwagon. Voting for someone because they are a woman or black, etc. is just not going to help us. It's not difficult to look around and see what's going on. I feel that people need to research their candidate and realize what they really stand for. If, after that, they still believe in their candidate, then at least they can rave about their candidate by using fact instead of caps lock and exclamation points.

The poll, taken April 23-27, questioned 1,001 adults nationally, with a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points. Included were interviews with 457 Democratic voters and people leaning Democratic, with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4.6 points, and 346 Republicans or GOP-leaning voters, with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 5.3 points.
