The American Family Association (AFA) is 'taking action' AGAINST the committed gay couple, Luke and Noah, on CBS soap As The World Turns.
They don't want anymore of what they call 'repulsive' kissing between the two.
Yeah, well, we want MORE!
We must stand together to show our support for Luke and Noah and SHUT DOWN the AFA's campaign.
According to their site, the AFA "represents and stands for traditional family values" and believes "in holding accountable the companies which sponsor programs attacking traditional family values."
Here's an excerpt of the bigoted 'action alert' the AFA sent to members after Luke and Noah's latest kiss aired on the soap.
Procter & Gamble has resumed using explicit, open-mouth homosexual kissing in their soap opera, "As the World Turns." P&G decided to include this type of content as a commitment to "diversity." P&G stopped showing such scenes some months ago, but has now decided to again help promote the homosexual agenda which includes homosexual marriage.
Gay activists are hopeful that the P&G effort will desensitize viewers to the homosexual lifestyle and help make the unhealthy and immoral lifestyle more acceptable to society, especially to children and youth.

I think the AFA are so far back in the dark ages it's not funny. It used to be that interracial couples were "repulsive", but they've kind of calmed down on that front to concentrate on stopping the "gay agenda", whatever that is.

I did this and urged my friends to do it as well. I can't believe you have so many ignorant readers. Featuring a homosexual relationship on a television show is NOT "promoting" homosexuality. What the hell does that even mean? I certainly approve of homosexuality, but it is amusing that so many people think we can lure people over to the "dark side." It's realistic to feature a homosexual couple on a DAYTIME television show, and I think it is a huge step in a positive direction.

Jollyex, I totally agree with you. Like she says, her kids will be home during the day in the summer, lots of kids are- and they may have to stay with someone who likes watching soap operas. If this is the case, then the kids would be subjected to this.
I'm sorry you guys, but a lot of families (probably the majority) don't want to and/or will not take the time out to personally inform their children about gays and their lifestyle. Unless you are gay or have someone clost to you who is, there's really no need to talk about it. Most people aren't gay and don't have a need or desire to bring the subject up. This type of stuff shoule be on cable television, not on national tv. Most AMericans are getting tired and desenitized to gay issues on the media because it does seem like it's trying to be forced down our throats. I find this letter that the AFA has written to be HORRIBLE! Homosexuality is not an UNHEALTHY life style. Any Life style is unhealthy if you choose to live it in an unhealthy fashion. I hope you will take a stand and fight for all gay rights. I am so proud of you and what you have done. I am so ashamed to have an association like the AFA working in such a negative fashion against companies and people that are trying to show the diversity that makes up our world today. Every household, every mother, father, son, daughter, nephew,or friend is linked to homosexuality in some way, shape or form. The AFA needs to work on "marital abuse", " the divorce rate", and "controlled women/men" in what they like to call "healthy relatinships" Just because it's a union of Man and Woman does not make it HEALTHY!. It is time to not be affraid of Homosexuality. It is not a disease. The AFA needs to stop. They need to put their resorces to work on "teen pregnancy" and "teen sex" verses a Kiss by two gay men on tv!

Why is it so difficult for people to grasp the concept that some people are gay, some are straight, some are still trying to figure out who they are? The AFA also spreads misinformation about AIDS. I actually heard a spot on the radio a few days ago that said being gay makes you more likely to (spontaneously?) get AIDS. Lets get a look at those statisics, shall we.

If anytihng I would think it should be more difficult to explain those types of things to children… O and by the way you tell your kids exactly what you gave as an example that men can love men and women can love women and everything is wonderful. If you do that and can manage to hide how obviously uncomfortable you are with homosexuality (thou dost protest too much??) then your children will not be thrown a "curveball" later on in life when they realize that there is a whole section of the population that their mother is disgusted by.

Kids are kids, they are going through changes and trying to find themselves- everyone knows who they are. Obviously those of you bashing those of us who are stay at homes with children don't have any kids of your own. I nor my children are overweight. My kids get plenty of outdoor playtime as well as structured activities in the home. Being a stay at home mom of three small children is a full time job. I like soap operas like most other people who stay home and arrange my kids' activities around them. They are asleep most days when the soaps are on, but not all of them (I have three). So, for all of you people who are complaining about stay at home parents watching soaps and saying such parents are bad, you obviously don't know what you are talking about, and you obviously don't have kids that you stay at home with.

I have no interest in soaps at all, but I'm all for gays kissing on the show! I called to support Luke and Noah regardless of the fact that I'm not a soap viewer. This is about equality and ending ignorance. Props to P&G for standing by it. Hopefully the narrow minded freaks will just have to suck it up and DEAL so that people WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE THEMSELVES.

I am a very well educated female with a master's degree and many friends from different races and sexual preferences but I still do not agree with showing this on TV…it seems that everyone on here likes calling people 'hate mongerers' and 'uneducated' because they don't agree with public displays of affection from two people of the same sex. are people allowed to have their own opinions anymore? Face it. no matter how accepted you may think homosexuality is, it is still a very controversial subject and still, no matter how accepted, something that you must explain to small children. It becomes an obligation to parents everywhere when it is broadcasted nationally on daytime television, and on a cable channel nonetheless. Not everyone has to be A-OK with homosexuality. It is a choice to accept it or reject it and last time i checked, people are entitled to their own opinions…and controversial subjects like this should not be tackled on national daytime television…sorry!

If children watch it and you don't make a big deal out of it, it won't be a big deal, it will be just like them watching a man and a woman kiss, or woman and a woman kiss. I'm of the opinion that if gay people can't kiss on TV, then straight people can't either! It's just two people sharing a kiss, and a rather hot & steamy kiss in this case….we definitely need to see more of it.

I don't even watch Soaps, but so WHAT for them having a gay storyline? I hate it when people are like 'I don't want to expose my kid to this'…well then don't let them outside the house then. They are going to come across gay people in real life. I don't particularly care to see straight people making out on almost every prime time show (that kids also watch), but I don't go protesting it.
And as multiple people have said, how many kids watch soap operas? I know I never did, hell, my PARENTS didn't. If you're kid is watching this stuff in the day, then I'm sure you should be more concerned with the soft core porn they watch at night on HBO/Cinemax/Showtime.

The Bible is certainly not the word of God; it is the reconstruction of God's ideas and creation by man; furthermore, it was written eons ago! If you consider how much man has changed and edited the Bible throughout history, to fit their own plans and ideas, you must surely agree that it no longer remains the pure teachings of the Lord. It is a great guide to morality but if we were to apply all of its 'laws' to the contemporary world, we'd be a very regressed, oppressed, unhappy society. Perez, you are a cool dude and I like you plenty. But the reality is that homosexuality is wrong. It's BIOLOGICALLY wrong, anal sex is WRONG, period, it's really not built for sex, the rectum. And you have a good point, the whole infidelity thing is also wrong and they promote that on TV, so you're right, all that garbage is really no good. Homosexuality is psychological, children know the difference between genders as early as 13 months. I had a gay friend long ago who told me that even though he was gay he knew it wasn't normal. He told me most of his gay friends had some kind of abuse and/or other psychological trauma (not always criminal) that turned them gay. That is the truth. For the sake of gay peeps, I wish it were true that homosexuality was normal. But it isn't. Take care.
