Madge's 4 Minutes has become the second single ever to have digital sales exceeding one million units in five weeks. Rihanna's Umbrella was the first.
As of today, digital sales of 4 Minutes are l,004,482 units.

But then I thought about it and came to the conclusion: this is something Madonna hasn't done before…team up with very commercial producers, and this is what she is known for. Madonna always takes chances with something she hasn't done before.
So with that said.

I love madonna - old and new. For an artist to stick to the same old hum drum beat time and time again with different lyrics is dull and boring. Life is about growing, music helps explain life for many people and as muscians. Madonna shares her vulnerability with life, getting older, and kicking ass through her music!!! This new album rocks!! For all those who are only "stuck" in the old madonna days perhaps she's not targeting you as a fan for years to come!

I have to admit, I'm not a huge madonna fan but I like her new album. It's pretty dynamic and has some good hooks in the melody lines. The only thing is that I wish I could hear Madonna sing more instead of being covered up by electronics. This tells me there's less vocal energy in this album which leaves less of Madonna to love for her fans, but musically, it's good. I bet if Madonna has some really good writers to add more harmonies, overlays and if she challenged hereself with improving her range, it would be better. Overall, I think she's playing it vocally safe, but in the end, I give the album a B+. Good Job.

Props to both ladies. To come as far as they have in this competitive industry and still be on top. I have bought both albums and am neutral on both artists, I do think Madonna has the better album by far. Just makes you want to dance and feels good. Mariah's I like as well but skip through a lot of the songs. My prediction when all saID AND DONE…Mariah will sell more records in the U.S and have more radio hits while Madonna will sell more records overall because she is more popular all over the world. She is also touring this year which will also hurt Mariah because she is not a performer and would rather spend 300.00 to see Madonna any day over Mariah.
