Unless AI gets two new judges for next season, the show is done. Between Randy Jacksons "Yo, Dawg, check it out" and Paulas predictable, incoherent ramblings, it's getting very old. Simon may be unpopular, but he's the only one of the judges that actually listens and knows what he's talking about. They need to lose Randy and Paula by next season, or there won't be one. And what's with these contestants talking back to the judges this season? Don't they realize just how lucky they are to be there?
Obviously this was a huge mistake on Paula's part, not that she commented on a performance she hadn't seen yet, but rather she unintentionally revealed that the judge's already had their picks before the show even aired.
AI is a scam. The judges pick their favorites and support them through and through. The votes are not even counted, but just used as a guide to rate popular opinion on the contestants. The judges have the final say, especially Simon. Is it any wonder why AI winners all fall intro different genres? Kelly=AC/rock, Ruben=supposed to be R&B, when he failed we got Fantasia to be R&B, Carrie=Country, Taylor Hicks=dead, Katherine McPhee=AC, when she failed we got Jordin Sparks to be the new AC artist and Daughtry is filling in the rock void. It's pre-planned and AI plans on having a winner in every major genre of music.

By the way, who is to say that this whole thing wasn't deliberate to give Paula a scripted, wacky moment to create a buzz and boost ratings. After all, she has been pretty lucid this season, so it's weird that this would suddenly happen. It could have been that she had watched a rehearsal and penned her notes prior to the on-air performance. I don't buy that her comments are scripted, because she usually says the same thing over and over…..but I still love her!!

in paula's defense, even though she seems to be high most of the time, they DO pre-record the performances once before the show airs. Then they perform again live on the show that we see. The clips of each performance that they show with the phone numbers at the end of the show are those prerecorded performances. They do this because there isn't enough time to edit each person's performance. So my guess is that she was referring to that.
Also, does anyone else think that Paula looks like she's going to a high school prom sometimes!? They need to fire her hair stylist! NO MORE UP-DO'S!!!

The judges watch the dress rehearsals. Because of the packed show they wrote down notes or someone wrote Paula's notes for her, but I believe the notes are from the dress rehearsal.

My review of American Idol is as follows. Randy, you are droll. Tired and overall as exciting as a bowl of Grape Nuts. Simon, you are colorful at times with your verbal brutality. I love it but the subject mater is a bit droll. Perhaps several lunch dates with Baron Von A-hole can revitalize your future. He can drive. Paula, Paula, Paula. What can one say. There is a reason your reality show did not make it. You were not there most of the time. Take some more pills, wash them down with a nice drink Gin and Tonic or a Seabreeze, or Margarita. Lay down and dream about back in the day when you had some brain cells left. As for the contestants, hey if you want to be the NEXT Clay Aiken or Carrie Underwood, go for it. But I am sure you will change your mind once it has happened. Seeing as they lip-synch the final, having Abdul "prepared" for the comments is pretty logical.
I wouldn't go so far as to say the show's "rigged" as some are suggesting (although sometimes I do have my doubts) but it is now 100% clear that the performance show is NOT live. I always kinda knew this because a contestant from a prior season was from our town and during an interview with the contestant's father - he kinda let the info slip but last night completely confirmed it.
