It really sounds like she's on painkillers - she's completely out of it and doesn't even seem to notice or care that she messed up. She probably had to take some before the show in order to go on and get through the show… and the producers gave her notes to follow to kind of prop her up and get her through it. That's what I hope anyways

this is absolutely ridiculous. She's proving the show is rigged, she was reading producers notes, because they cannot make it ANY more BLATANTLY clear that these people want David A (not worthy) and David C (worthy) in the final 2. And they will throw anyone else who poses a threat under the bus in the way. IT's convienent how the shows producer goes to the press ALL week saying Jason should go….his mentor edit with NEil Diamond (and all the mentors) try to make him look like a fool every time….and then THIS. Everyone giving him shit, especially paula…pre-song. If I was Jason I woulda had some choice f*&?ing words to say to her. Luckily he's got a lot more class than I do.

OK-here is what happened from an insider (grip) on the show. She watched dress rehearsals and was already freakin' on the time constraint so she f'ed up and read the notes she wrote from rehearsals. Still ditzy. Thought you all would like to know.

all the contestants perform infront of the judges during their dress and paula just became confused…its almost impossible for the show to be rigged…i dont even see how this would prove it?
oh, here is the 'damage control' story….Paula was EXHAUSTED after not sleeping for (insert number) days straight and out of 'exhaustion' was incoherent and incapable to carry on with the critiques in the appropriate manner. She is now 'resting' as she has not slept in (insert number) of days and oh yeah and she had to be put on IV"s for dehydration due to the 'exhaustion'……….I love when these people get all cracked out on tv and then the absurd stories they come up with to cover IT'S ALWAYS BLAMED ON EXHAUSTION!!! Pathetic…and ridiculous, of COURSE they wrote the critiques during dress rehearsal, do you know how many times they probably had to watch these same 5 people rehearse?? That's not what makes it 'fixed' what makes it 'fixed' is that certain phone lines get shut down after a number is reached as to fix who is eliminated, if you can't get any more votes, you certainly can't win…THAT'S what makes the show 'fixed' the fact that stepford wife brooke is still there and the Australian dude is gone is proof!!

Show is rigged. Jason def played 2 songs BEFORE the show started…how do I know? B/c if you watch the clips at the end that recap the show, Sayesha ends her 2nd song differently live than she did in the replay. Suspicious anyone….

So what the hell is she doing judging their singing? Most of the time she tries to sound like she knows what she is talking about but if any of you notice…half of the time she just giggles and puts things into simpler terms. Anyways… she should go judge dancing with the stars or something.

More obvious than Paula proving the show is rigged by deciding who is SHIT before they even sing, notice how they leave no pause for crowd cheer for ANYONE except the one they want to influence the crowd to vote for as winner. Simon has said before that they dont even really listen to the stage performance bc they watch the dress rehearsal. If you look at the judges while the contestants are singing, they are usually talking amongst themselves or staring off into space. They had already written their notes abou them all and she just got tripped up because they werent paying attention.

Okay….I saw on ET's website that Paula was confused because the producers changed it on them at the last minute. She was writing notes about Jason Castro and then started on David Cook's and just wrote Jason's name by mistake. Don't be blaming her for being human and making a simple mistake!

She makes MILLIONS with this stupid job and all she does besides AI promotion is tell people how colorful and true to themselves they are. When Paula tells you that she loves how "YOU" your performance was, you're in trouble. DVR is great because we can fast forward through her babbling. If she can't keep her notes straight, and reveals that the performances have already been judged, she doesn't deserve the kind of compensation she gets. "Production change" or not.
Also, it's completely obvious that on the elimination nights, the group songs are lip synched. Just watch their mouths. What's the point of doing live TV if it's not live? The top group is kind of sucky this year, anyway. They're good singers if they're just playing a small room, but not great performers.

first of all, i think they should have kept the same format as usual - have they ever had the top 5 sing 2 songs? secondly, both of paula's excuses do NOT make any sense. there's only 2 possible explanations - either paula was IN the dress rehearsals and took notes then OR the notes were pre-written by the producers. AI needs to pick one of those and be honest.
The American Idol contestants perform their songs twice: once during dress rehearsals, and then once live. I'll bet during dress rehearsals the judges watch those monitors with preconceived notions about how they will judge the live performances. Paula just got confused. Maybe she's on drugs, aging poorly, or was never very smart even in her prime.

It was hilarious seeing the contestants' faces as it was going on b/c they were trying not to laugh, esp Brooke White. She was moving her lips back and forth trying not to lose it. It's no surprise as all reality shows are somewhat scripted. The audience shouldn't be stupid enough to think it's real. And the other judges might be capable of coming up with their own comments, but certainly not Paula. She can barely speak English. She keeps insisting she isn't a drug addict, but this is NOT the way to prove it…

I have an idea, but I doubt she is going to come out and admit it.
