"Set the record straight…..Paula was NOT drunk yesterday, she did not have a martini yesterday at lunch. It was a sparkling water with lime….she DOES NOT drink……you are just repeating what TMZ had up for a few minutes earlier today and have since taken down completely since they didn't have the proof to back it up…and don't want to risk legal action. It also wasn't her assistant that was with her…it was the head of Talent for FOX.
Do the right thing and correct this erroneous reporting."

i hate to defend paula, but it's a well known fact that she does not drink. she does, however, have many neck and back injuries from a car accident and her years as a dancer. she is a major league PILL POPPER and light weight. everything she takes is prescribed, but it's heavy duty shit so that's why she is always so loopy. that said, last night was HYSterical!
she wasn't even pronouncing her words correctly.. wow they must think we ARE ALL STUPID.. she probably wasn't drunk she was just on a combination of pills.. she was completely out of it and didnt know what was going on.. blame the change of format if you will but the task was sooooo easy!.. curve ball my aSS!!..

OK…The Word Up known by a privileged few peeps is Paula's incredibly/seriously WRACKED with muscular and joint pain. For a woman who became famous FIRST as a dancer, it's thought that she MUST believe it's far too big of a RISK to "go public" regarding the enormity of pain she suffers. I find this ironic, cuz she's achieved icon status thru IDOL, so now she can be a HUGE ADVOCATE and "champion" for identifying sources of pain and understanding sufferes, e.g. degenerative disks, neural diseases, congenital arthritis, chronic pain conditions, etc. Instead, she chooses to closet herself, but then she oddly semi-"outs" herself by showing up for event noticeably "challenged" by a pain medication of some sort. So…she's on pain pills, folks. And that's that. Nope. She's NOT a drunk; nor do we know the extent of her reliance on narcotics, if any or if she's full-on addicted. But she does, indeed, need to use them to manage her pain. And sometimes…her need "shows up" at the WORST times… We love you, Paula! Come Clean?

Everyone is taking this WAY out of line. Its obvious that the whole show was FULL of confusion last night. Simon even said so himself. Ryan said that the judges would crituque AFTER everyone sang their 2nd song. Its an honost mistake. And for all of this drug/alchol shit to come back up again, is OBSERD. Its just anything to talk shit on someone. If that makes people feel better… to COMPLETLY ruin someones reputation, than you all need some SERIOUS help. I doubt that if half of you saw Paula in person, you woudl say ANY of this to her. So leave her alone for crying out loud. I think she's had more than enough abuse from all of the haters. Move on..& come up with better material. This is all getting so freaking old.

& I agree with #129. She suffers form SO much pain.. & i'm sure she does take pain pills. I don't blame her. NONE of you can, if that were the case. Going through RSD ( reflex Dystophy sydrom) isn't fun at all. And I'm SURE it doesn't help when people start this shit up again. And I don't think Paula will "come clean" about her pain or pills that she may or may not take. She has before talked about her RSD & Many accidents..but not to the fullest extent. I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt that in fact both songs had been sung but the director asked the judges to pretend at that moment that only the first song had been sung because a decision was made in the middle of the show to change the program format. It's called editing. It's done all the time in hollywood. Either that or Paula was really spaced out on acid.
Paula abuses prescription drugs — she doesn't drink — she can't because of all the drugs she's eating due to her "tragic back injury" years ago. Everyone asks her about booze, never about what meds she's on. The judges obviously take notes during dress rehearsal and she was so whacked out she didn't have a grip on where they were in the live show.

For years, Annette Funicello from the Blanket Bingo movie with Frankie Avalon was strumbling around and slurring her words. She also was considered a drunk until she finally had to tell publicly that she has MS which can present with many various symptoms. Paula has acknowledged that she has a serious, hideously painful neurological condition which leaves her in constant, debilitating pain. She has had several neck and back surgeries and I applaud her for being able to put a smile on her face and be in the public eye rather than hiding herself in her home in pain. Show some sympathy and understanding, people. You never know when something might happpen to you!!!!
