April Lavigne "postponed" her San Diego concert tonight.
Perezious reader Jeff tells us that excessive partying could be the main reason why she can't play in San Diego this evening.
He shares with us:
"Avril and Boys Like Girls (Avril's support band) played here (in Vegas) last night at the Palms…yesterday afternoon (at a private performance before the big show) the lead singer of Boys Like Girls Martin Johnson said, "We (he & Avril) got so wasted last night in her suite." He told us how she (Avril) had a bowling alley in her suite and that they "went shot (alcohol) for shot all night long." Even at the show last night, in front of her very young audience, she claimed that she was "hung-over" from drinking so much the night before. I think that is one of the many reasons she bucked the San Diego show…"
So responsible. Promoting drinking to the tweens in the audience.

Update: The concert is now officially "Cancelled."
Guess the promoters didn't think it'd be worth it to reschedule!

Avril performs very good live, I enjoyed her concert and I'm not exactly a teen, so you better stop talking stupid things and focus on more realistic posts.

The house of blues (the shows promoter) made a official statement, saying Avril has laryngitis, proof? there's a photo of Avril with las vegas palm owner george maloof, in one hand a cupcake the other Avril has written on her palm "can't speak - lost voice" after performing for 90 minutes. I'm seriously shocked that Avril or her people have not sued hilton on the grounds of slander and defamation of character.

WHO CARES! EVERYONE HAD CHEAP or FREE TICKETS ANYWAYS. NOBODY WOULD PAY GOOD MONEY TO SEE HER "PERFORM". SHE SUCKS!
They were trying to sell tix for $10 a piece…they probably couldn't get enough people to come, so they cancelled it.
I have to say, Perez that I'm probably a moderate fan of Lavigne. I don't see how liking her could be any different from liking Madonna; both have images they rely heavily on images (Madonna as a sex pot, Avril as an obnoxious punk) and both are harmless pop singers. She's not killing anyone. It's okay for you to dislike her, I have plenty of celebs I don't like, but this going on and on about everything she does and making it sound like it's the worst thing in the world… Tons of artists cancel shows all the time. Didn't Justin Timberlake joke about being hungover at a recent show? She's overage; she says "motherfucker" on the album and talks about her love of Limoncello. If parents take their kids to the show, they should expect her faux-rebellion/raciness.
What I'm saying is there's plenty to trash your beloved April on- she contradicts herself as only a pro can, and she does not write her own songs. But talking about her being drunk or giving away promo tickets (as you're doing with one of YOUR favorite artists right now) just makes you come across as desperate for something to hate on. Wait until something *really good* to trash her on comes along; I don't think anyone will miss these now hackneyed posts.
P.S. I saw her live in Dallas this past weekend- the show was all about her, of course, but say what you will. Self-absorbed or not, she's got a voice.

I saw Avril last Sunday in San Antonio and she did really good. Everyone likes to drink and have a good time once in a while, maybe she wanted a little break to let loose. Theres no need to jump on her back about it or assume she doesn't care about her fans.

Getting a cold happens and concerts need to be canceled. That’s not the problem here. The problem was that Avril Lavigne’s management team failed to publicize that the show was canceled so everyone still showed up only to find a shut down venue. After getting laryngitis, Avril naturally was unable to perform. There were a lot of pissed-off girls and their moms.
