this is my favorite track on the album, but i was really disappointed with the vid. they obviously blew all the $ on the jackets. not a great concept IMO.
but that song is the sh1t and Justice still rocks it.

What is the point of that video? So they turn on the camera crew in the end? What are they monsters? Bullshit. Sure those things happen but all in one day in an enormous crime spree? My sister works in the criminal justice system and I can assure you criminals are not that bright. Especially for petty crimes, and they almost ALWAYS turn on each other once caught. That video is a racist fantasy. After the first offense those punk kids would have been picked up by someone. At least in New York city there is absolutely no way they could have done all that in one day. And wearing matching jackets? Making it that much easier to be picked out even easier. That video is BULLSHIT!
I love Justice, and I don't think this video promotes or glamorizes violence at all. People are coming at you like you directed the video and made a huge post saying "HEY, LITTLE KIDS. DO THIS." Little kids shouldn't be reading this blog anyway. It's just a music video, and as much as someone could become desensitized to violence because of constantly watching things like this, you would have to be an idiot to begin to think that this is a good idea. What happened in this video happens in real life, so I hardly think it's such a shocker to show it. Maybe all these people that are up in arms about it talking about how they can't believe you put this up because you're such a liberal should step outside of their yuppie world and think about the conditions that kids who do this come from.
The clip obviously refers to the riots in Paris and the soical deprivation faced by people in the suburbs, akin to inner city slums in other cities. The juxtaposition of the band's symbol 'justice' and religion is highly ironic considering the INJUSTICE these people face. The music does create a tension and stress which builds and builds until its kind of unbearable reflecting the escaltaing social tensions which seem to be almost ready to boil over. Watch 'La Haine', and you'll see the comparisons. I think its very telling despite the fact other voices are heard throughout the clip at the end there voices are not audible. They are crying out but no one is able or willing to listen. Also language is incpapble of expressing the horror of their situation. As for the comparisons between a clockwork orange I think its moderate. Perhaps a hint at a similar dystopic future? I would write alot more about a clockwork orange but I suggest you read it for yourself, its actually condemnatory of violence and also a state that tries to exert an authoritarian control over its citizens. Isnt it ironic the way the police are willing to use violence to their own ends in order to create control over the people in order to eliminate violence?
But I guess Americans don't care about such ideals as you live a world beyond freedom and dignity. A Clockwork Orange shows that free will is the essence of humanity and to deny it, and its ability to lead to violence, is to deny humanity itself. The copycat crime based on Kubricks film was due to a gross misinterpretation of Burgess' intent. Have any of you even read it? I think the video is awesome and so are Justice, thanks Perez for showing me you aren't as vacuous and lacking education as I thought. A poignant work who's intent is lost on less intelligent people who just decide ugh, where's my mariah carey gossip. Its meant to be inflamatory. Half of you dont even know what provocative means.
So I was down in Coney Island when some punk kids tried to hold up a bodega, within minutes they were arrested. The cops had guns drawn and everything. One of the young men tried to run into Coney Island USA and he was followed by 6 plain clothed police men badges out and guns out! I could see these punks getting away with one or two of these offenses, but all of them over a course of a day? BULLSHIT!!!!!!! They have cops in France!!!

There was NO DIFFERENCE between the two race groups. Unless, of course, that's just what you want to see. it seems most people have completely missed the point, Justice have created a video which shows the raw truth about our culture today and I think its good that there are bands who are willing to risk popularity to confront issues such as this. To some people it may seem as though it is promoting violence but actually most who will watch this will not think they want to be like those people in the video. I am one of these 'fucktard' young people a lot of people have been ranting on about. No this video or Perez is NOT promoting random acts of violence. Justice in this video are expressing their global veiws on violence, and the random acts of. As a 'young fucktard' I would not be influenced by this at all - and cannot see many people being influenced by it either.
Justice here are showing the reality of life - which some people need to work out judging by these comments. Children do not need constantly sheltered - They are able to know right from wrong and know that these acts as instrumented in this video are not good. I live in Paris.. it is NOT like this video.. There is much more to Paris than this stupid video! This is just a representation of what happened during the riots of 06! Believe it or not, it's a very clean city and to be honest.. every city has edge. My parents moved to the states and my mum was terrified because of all the footage they showed on the tele, showing the USA as a dangerous and dirty country. Once she landed she couldnt believe her eyes on how beautiful the little houses were and how everything was quiet.
