Kanye is almost as big a diva as Perez!
He's also one of the only artists to be brutally honest at all times. He's fearless and he doesn't care who he pisses off, that includes Entertainment Weekly.
The rapper went off on a tirade on his blog against the magazine, who gave his "Glow in the Dark Tour," which we thought was amazing, a shitty review.
This is what Kanyeizzle has to say:
"Yo, anybody that's not a fan; don't come to my show. For what?! To try and throw ya'll two cents in? Ya'll rated my album shitty and now ya'll come to the show and give it a B+. What's a B+ mean? I'm an extremist. It's either pass or fail! A+ or F-! You know what, fuck you and the whole fucking staff!!! I know I shouldn't dignify this with a comment, but the reviewer threw a jab at all the artists. I just wanna know when was the last time you enjoyed yourself. If you can't have fun and lose yourself at this tour it's a good chance you're a very miserable person. I actually feel sorry for you guys. Your job forces you to not have fun anymore. Grab a drink, holla at some nice girls, and party bitch!! You don't know shit about passion and art. You'll never gain credibility at this rate. You're fucking trash! I make art. You can't rate this. I actually thought it was a good review, making sure that it tried to resolve Kanye's obvious ego with the almost pure entertainment value gained from expressing it - obviously some of the article did criticise this because it didn't all work (I found "In space no-one can hear you scream, but if you're West, everyone will hear you self-actualise" very funny and true), but on the whole, as West says, he can't deal with being found lacking to a small, rather than large, level. That makes him a slightly dangerous personality when it comes to potential later all-out failures, but I still admire his work, even if I find some of it to be equally lacking as the reviewer does, but even lots of people don't like Shakespeare, so chin up Mr. West, it's not all bad, I can't even afford college, and you can afford massive fake spaceships and digital star fields!
i haven't even seen kanye's show, yet it's obvious he's defensively responding to the media because that's how he operates. he's reactive. let's not forget the European equivalent of the grammy's debacle.
and in regards to his mother's untimely passing, we can all at the very least empathize. that being said…it does not entitle egotist or "self-entitled" behavior. your mother would expect more character of you than that, kanye, and you know it.

I agree with him completely. I actually attended the show and it was the most creative and comprehensive show I've ever attended. There was an actual theme which came across extremely well and incorporated itself extraordinarily well. Kanye's concert not only made the music more enjoyable, but he provided a completely new experience for it. He really is an artist. Whether you agree with what he has to say is your own personal choice. I don't give a damn what anyone says. That concert gets an A. Unfortunately, Kanye is so cocky no one wants to give it to him. But I don't care. He knows who he is. At his concert he said "I promise Ima stop spazzing out at awards shows, and my shows." Hahaha he knows how to make fun of himself, so lighten up yall!

I was never a fan of his music but I recently got a chance to check out this tour while visiting a friend and it was killer! You could tell how much passion he has and it was different and exciting. My taste in music is like Cradle of Filth, Opeth, Lamb Of God lol So yeah I was assuming I was going to have a bad time but this show was awesome and good for him telling off Entertainment Weekly. I would be pretty shitty too if I had so much passion for my art and put so much time into creating something unique and then have someone just shit all over it.

Kanye needs to remember that if this is "pop art" then any review or any critique is governed by the law of subjectivity. As long as a reviewer can articulate the reasons for their grade, and not just repeat "this sucks, this sucks" it's legit. Apparently having an opinion and the right to express it pisses him off, but he thinks we're all entitled to his.
Botticelli, Michelangelo, and DaVinci are artists. Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven are artists. Kanye West is NOT an artist. The problem with modern pop culture is the devaluation of language. "Artist" is just one word on a long list whose meaning has been minimized by devaluing it by using it where it does not apply. Like the words music, star, actor, lady, gentleman, woman, man, class, sophistication, large, small. For example, Kanye West probably thinks his private man-giblets are large—but actually his little boy-giblets are very small, which leads to rabid insecurity and much ranting and raving.
