perez-what the hell do you know about kids…other than you act like one half the time. It's not too old. Stop frickin picking on people because to you, you think they are weird because of their religion. To some people your weird because your gay and you don't like that. Stop judging

  2. mishy says – reply to this

    602

Perez, I've been saying that for a year! It's ridiculous!!

  3. Diann says – reply to this

    603

When her teeth are sticking out (i.e. buck toothed) they'll wonder why! WAY TOO OLD FOR A BOTTLE!

  4. jj says – reply to this

    604

nobody's business but the parents….to each his own…there are only guidelines…but personal choice is key…and anyone who has an issue with that has way too much time on their hands to be interfering with other's parenting choices or styles.

  5. DurangosMama says – reply to this

    605

Yes, it is too old. I've been a nanny for 5 years and the only time a 2 year old ever gets a bottle is for bed…and that's even rare.

  6. Sunny says – reply to this

    606

No, not too old at all. She's tiny and can use the extra calories. Plus, maybe Katie is still breastfeeding and pumping. Extended nursing is recommended by pediatricians.

  7. Michelle says – reply to this

    607

Yeah, she is too old. They recommend introducing a sippy cup at 6 months so they learn to use it. By the time they are one, they should be only on the sippy cup.

As Scientologist, they probably do not want to force her off because it could cause emotional stress and make it harder to reach a different level.

    no.

    610

Is news really THAT slow today, Perez?

  11. Grace says – reply to this

    611

Most doctors tell them that they should be off the bottle by age 1. I work in dentistry and have seen many kids with "baby bottle caries" when they are on the bottle too long!

  12. prdmommy says – reply to this

    612

from a SAHM of four kids…

Hell yes! That is just lazy parenting!

  13. Seriously says – reply to this

    613

She is way too old! Are you kidding me! Are they too busy to wean their kid off a bottle? This is ridiculous!

  14. Heather says – reply to this

    614

No. It's totally up to the parents. They know what is best for their child.

  15. Suzie says – reply to this

    615

Being a mother to a 4 and 2 year old, I'd have to say that it is easier to give a bottle on the go sometimes just to reduce spillage. My 4 year old still has milk from a bottle in the morning.

  16. ShaSha says – reply to this

    616

    Yes! Thats ridiculous!

  17. nanny says – reply to this

    617

Yep, definitely too old to be on the bottle. My guess is that either:

    1) the bottle keeps her quiet, and nthey want her quiet

    2) Suri rules the house, and gets what she wants

    3) it's too much work/"trauma" to take the bottle away, even though the nannies could do it pretty quickly if they're any good

  18. Ray Ray says – reply to this

    618

2 years old is NOT too old to be on a bottle! She's just a baby, give her a break! She'll be off it by 3 I'm sure, but sometimes when you are out and about with a baby, you'd rather they drink out of a bottle and not spill anything all over themselves. A cup is fine when you are at home and can clean up quickly.

  19. katieanne says – reply to this

    619

I assume some of you obviously don't have any kids. Let's talk AFTER you you have one and we will see what habits your kids will have. As are cancer sticks, nipples are just as addicting. I breastfed for 10 months, then she went to a bottle until one year. I took the bottle away and I have been enjoying her crying and yearning for that damn bottle for four months now.

  20. AgentGiggles. says – reply to this

    620

It's a personal choice of the parents. There are some kids who are still on the breast because of the families financial situation at that age. If she was still on the breast with her parents in such an elevated lifestyle, that would be of concern. But really, I think it's not something anyone needs to bother commenting on.

  21. Lori says – reply to this

    621

Usually they only use it at nap time or bed time at this age. But it should only be water then. NOTHING else. Its bad for our little ones teeth. But its not REALLY weird that shes still attached.

  22. lol says – reply to this

    622

funny that someone who has milk titties at age 30 would ask this. perez i bet your mom breast fed you until age 10

  23. kassy says – reply to this

    623

i have been saying that for the past 15 months… that child should have been off the bottle since she was 10-12 months old. My daughter was born the same month as Suri so i have noticed it everytime she is photographed! it's ridiculous!

  24. B says – reply to this

    624

I babysit a little boy who is 33 months old and he still takes a bottle in the morning and at night! Talk about crazy! They've been warned too by the pediatrician that his teeth are suffering but they won't stop!!! I refuse to give him a bottle in my house. Hes perfectly capable of using a sippy here!

  25. Anne says – reply to this

    625

Hey - give the kid a break if you had those 2 for parents you would need a little extra comfort as well

  26. Sabina says – reply to this

    626

Well, considering my child was still on the bottle at 2, I'm not commenting on that :S. My comment is, why hasn't anyone questioned the fact that this child is ALWAYS carried everywhere? Unless she has a condition, she should walk.

  27. Re #42 Kate says – reply to this

    627

Re: Kate – KATE! YOUR SO GLIB ON THIS SITUATION. I AM A PECIATRIC DENTIST, I HAVE STUDIED IT….HAVE YOU????

    TC

  28. bunny says – reply to this

    628

She's fine. Kids that drink from a cup too early DO NOT get enough fluids because it is not easily transportable for them. Although she should use a sippy cup son.

  29. my says – reply to this

    629

Well actually it depends on the child & she just recently turned 2 yrs old. And the bottle maybe something she has at a certain point in the day as a comfort. Like at night when she starts to get tired. & considering Tom has two other children I'm sure he knows how to take care of his daughter.

  30. Jami says – reply to this

    630

#20 - elyse says – no, definitely not. at that age kids are transitioning to solids and still need the calories from milk.

UH, ELYSE…NEWS FLASH 4 YA…MILK CAN ALSO BE PUT IN A CUP!

  31. lksmama says – reply to this

    631

some kids use a bottle longer for comfort. it's gotta be stressful with all those paps tracking you! my kid was off it by 1, but every kid is different

  32. Erica says – reply to this

    632

It all depends, but generally yes. A very good friend of mine has four (yes four and she's only 30!!!!) kids, and her youngest is also two and drinks from a sippy cup.

  33. Lisete says – reply to this

    633

Re: elyse – are you kidding? Transitioning to solids? She is 2, what the heck has she been eating the past year? Mush? I get that milk is good and about the calories, but why can't she drink it out of a sippy cup? It's up to parents to make these kinds of decisions for their kids. Look at another scientologist-Leah Remini, I just read an article about her and how her 4 yr old still has a bottle and won't potty train, they said that scientologits aren't about neg reinforcement and stuff and how they are supposed to be more like friends to their kids…whatever.

  34. D says – reply to this

    634

Yes. 2 is definitely too old for a bottle… I've noticed this for a while now - she always has a bottle with her! Someone should tell them that the ADULTS are the parents…. A 2 year old can't parent themself!

  35. tiffany says – reply to this

    635

Perez, you're not the authority on this - you don't have a child.

  36. Blake Jackson says – reply to this

    636

Honestly Perez, what would you know about raising a child?????

  37. lissa says – reply to this

    637

no it's not to old but she's gonna have to give up the bottle soon.

  38. noneofyourbiz says – reply to this

    638

Re: elyse – You must not have kids, or haven't ever even seen a kid. Kids start "transitioning to solids" waaaaay sooner then age 2. JSYK… Kiddos can drink milk from sippy cups or regular cups too, not just bottles.

  39. RedRidingHood says – reply to this

    639

Yes, 2 is too old for a bottle. She should really be off of sippy-cups as well by now, except for travelling.

  40. Anderson says – reply to this

    640

Hello Suri should of been of the bottle months ago.

  41. Tabitha says – reply to this

    641

Yeah, I have twins that were born a week before Suri and they haven't been on a bottle since they were 11 months old. I think there is some weak parenting if they can't enforce the 'no bottle' issue. Sounds like Suri runs the show….or there is little to no active parenting!

  42. Sarah LLLL says – reply to this

    642

My nephew is almost 4 ad my niece is almost 4 and they are on the bottle still
    its perfectly normal.

  43. Liz says – reply to this

    643

I was a far better parent before I had kids too.

  44. Kyahppy says – reply to this

    644

She's just a baby… kids grow up soooo damn fast… let them be babies when they're babies, toddlers when they're toddlers… why do they have to grow up so fast? It's just as harmful pushing a child to grow up as it is to hold them back…

  45. jax says – reply to this

    645

Babies can suck on bottles as long as they need too! Who fucking said there's an age!!!!! (gringos con el coco cerrado)

  46. Lady hodge says – reply to this

    646

Yes. By 1 1/2 years of age, a toddler should be drinking from at least a sippy.

  47. stacey says – reply to this

    647

no!!, every child is different, and i agree, there is nothing else newsworthy going on!

  48. Kay says – reply to this

    648

One years old is around the age doctors reccomend transitioning to a sippy cup, but many kids aren't quite ready to ready to give them up completly and use them as comfort items during stressful situations . Wouldn't you concider paparazzi flashes very stressful to a toddler? As long as she uses a sippy cup in typical situations and she isn't given a bottle at bedtime, little Suri should be fine. Though, it would be better if she had water in that bottle instead of milk.

  49. Julie says – reply to this

    649

At one year you are supposed to switch the child to a sippy cup. So, yeah, two years old is too old for a bottle.

  50. lindsay bluth says – reply to this

    650

Google is your friend once again:

    "Scientology's Volunteer Minister's Handbook:

Breast feeding babies may have a nostalgic background, particularly to a Freudian oriented medico, but real breast milk again is usually a poor ration. Modern mothers smoke and sometimes drink. Smoking makes the milk very musty. Anyway, a nervous modern mother just can't deliver the right ration. Maybe it's the pace of the times or the breed, but there are few modern Guernsey-type mothers. So even without drinking or smoking, one should forget breast feeding.

The foremost reason a baby doesn't do well is poor rations. And to remedy that, here is a formula one can use:

    15 ounces of barley water
    10 ounces of homogenized milk
3 ounces of corn syrup (As the Romans had honey, 2 ounces of honey may be used instead of corn syrup, if desired. Do not use lactose [a sugar found in milk, used in infant foods] as a substitute.) The amount of syrup should be varied - depending on the baby - some like it weak - some take it stronger."

    651

    not too old…
ive been a nanny for many children…its not weird until after 3

  52. clarence says – reply to this

    652

She probably doesn't need a bottle anymore. Sometimes it's easier to give the kid what they want, though. And what's the scientology stand on bottles?

  53. alison says – reply to this

    653

THAT IS WAY TO OLD at the latest it the kid should stop at 1 and a half

  54. Twolly says – reply to this

    654

She should've been put on a sippy cup or even a regular cup by the age of 1. But you know how 'natural' those Scientologists are, maybe they think she'll give them up when she's ready. If she was breastfed, she'd be like that 8 year old girl who still sips a bit from the tit.

  55. Jennifer says – reply to this

    655

WHY didn't you ask why Cruz Beckham still sucks on a pacifier at age 3!!!! you posted a picture of him with on in his mouth and you didnt say anything!!!!

  56. Shakira says – reply to this

    656

Of Course she is too old to be sucking on a bottle. Pretty soon her teeth are going to rott. Thats what happens though when your parents dont bring you up right.

  57. yvanna says – reply to this

    657

I have a daughter the same age. I took her bottle away the week she turned one. Seeing suri with a bottle makes me laugh, because i think of kids i see out an about who are like freaking 5 years old and have a dang pacifier in their mouth. Come on don't the parents see how ridiculous it looks. And later down the road its going to f'up their teeth.

  58. Lindsay says – reply to this

    658

Two is not too old to be on a bottle. Dieticians and pediatricians support the ideal that two is not too old. Now, three would be pushing it, but as long as she is holding the bottle herself and it is a full size bottle she is fine.

  59. Gina says – reply to this

    659

i have a 2 yr old and she drinks out of a bottle, but it's only at night…drinks a cup during the day tho!

  60. stef's ex wife says – reply to this

    660

    You guys have no idea!
It's not abnormal for a 2 year old to be drinking out of it. She should be just starting to quit, but it's not something you just "take away" from her.
And it's easier for a parent to carry out bottles when out, in case the kid gets angry.
I hate Tom as much as the next person, but his parenting doesn't seem wrong at least in this case.

  61. kristie says – reply to this

    661

It is just fine! Tom and Katie are very excellent parents. Them and them alone are the only 2 people that should know what is best time for Suri to stop using the bottle, the blankie, or the pacifier and whatever else the precious little girl uses!!

  62. Smurf says – reply to this

    662

Definately! You should break them of the bottle at 1

  63. Cee says – reply to this

    663

A baby should be off a bottle by one at the latest. It can cause major problems with the childs teeth. What a moron!

yes its wayyy to old! not only is she still on the bottle at 2 years old but she seems to be very attached to it! its ridiculous. and a 2 year old looks absolutly ridiculous with that thing hanging out of her mouth all the time!

and elyse-at a year old they should already be on solids for a few months. she does not need that much milk at almost 2 years old and even if she does need milk she can get it out of a sippy cup!

  69. Philboy says – reply to this

    669

Re: Stanford Child Dev Professor – Clearly you are not keeping up with the latest literature in child development and speech pathology, but it is recommended that the bottle be removed at one year of age now in order to prevent speech delay, and oral motor sensory issues. But by 18 months at the latest.

  70. voiceofreason says – reply to this

    670

First you were questioning Kingston's paci, now Suri's bottle. Let them be babies. Who are you to say how old a baby is to stop doing something. When they are ready they will give it up. That's why some people are screwed up today. Better a paci or a bottle instead of a crack pipe. RELAX PEOPLE! It's not your business.

  71. Tammie says – reply to this

    671

OMG! She's 2 and still used a bottle? What horrible people! Call DSS!!! Then when you're done, you can start ragging on his clothes, his haircut, his walk, his breathing, his voice, and his dead relatives……………………………….
It amazes me how many people get off on ripping others to shreads. It's truely scary.

That kid should be on solids long ago, and her teeth will suffer. Besides, she should have had it taken away long ago. Shame on Katie for allowing this to happen. She needs to man up and take that bottle away. That is if Tom will LET HER.

  78. Sady says – reply to this

    678

Actually when a baby first starts getting teeth you need to prepare to stop bottle feeding b/c that will cause their teeth to rot….. and that girl is too old to be drinking from a bottle if she can hold it herself like a cup give her a damn cup…

  79. Daisy says – reply to this

    679

TOTALLY!!!!!!!!! Celeb kids…of which I know many are raised by nannies and they have pacifiers and bottles for ever. They have to have some kind of comfort…and that is it.

  80. Research before posting your biased opinion says – reply to this

    680

In GENERAL a child should be weaned off the bottle by 12-18 months, however most children do not pick up cups until as late as the age of two. Also, many parents prefer to have a bottle when outside the home to prevent any spilling or accidents that Sippy Cups have many times.

I am in the child care business and though most parents opt to ween children off the bottle shortly after the age of one. I have had children that still use a bottle at three. Personally, at three they should know how to use a sippy cup, but she isn't three and a sippy cup can be harder to carry then a bottle.

  86. SHUT THE FUCK UP! says – reply to this

    686

  87. whocares says – reply to this

    687

Drinking a bottle at 2 is completly normal. Its a parents choice. She is just two, if she is still on it at 3 than you can begin to question their parenting. Atleast shes getting fed.

  88. JenStar says – reply to this

    688

YES!!! She should definitely be off the bottle by now! What are they thinking? And they claim to be parents of the year, someone should look for pics of Suri with her teeth, see if she has tooth decay!!!! Fucken STUPID and she still looks like an alien baby

  93. sara says – reply to this

    693

I have 2 young kids. At one year you switch from bottle to cup. The bottle starts giving them buck teeth. A 2 year old is perfectly capable of drinking from a cup.

  94. kristy says – reply to this

    694

thank you perez! i have been asking the same question for months. she should be off a sippy cup by now and using a regular cup. she's probably going to have huge teeth problems and serious withdrawl when they do try to take it from her. they need to get with it and be parents.

  95. monika says – reply to this

    695

    no

  96. talk about what you know says – reply to this

    696

No biggie… There is no other way for her to get breastmilk with Tom (if that's what she is drinking-let's hope so)…shoo. Don't you think they could afford to get a few non-toxic bottles though. "Born-Free"!!!

  97. DIANE says – reply to this

  98. Jani says – reply to this

  99. bea says – reply to this

    699

it's so funny to read everyones opinion about this subject.. and i'm stoned so maybe that's why.
anyway i think two sounds a little too old to have a two year old sucking on a bottle. that's actually kinda embarrassing. i'd be pissed at my parents if they let me use a bottle past like one.

  100. Kelly says – reply to this

    700

Probably time to get her using a sippy cup, but maybe still a bottle for bedtime. It's hard to say. I don't think it's too out of the ordinary.
