This Is A Serious Question
Filed under: Baby Blabber > Tom Cruise
Suri Cruise has been stepping out with her daddy in NYC these last few days.
The child is now 2 years old.
Isn't that too old to still be sucking on the bottle??????

okay,THIS is a serious question?
leave the baby alone,if she is sucking on the bottle or not, sorry to say its not your business. I have seen 4 year-olds sucking on the bottle. its not very healthy,i agree, but if the parents dont have the guts to take it off the kid,who are we to say anything about it.
im sure they dont want to know your opinion when it comes to raising their daughter.
Who cares! I've seen 4 year-olds suck on bottles! Stop making a big deal outta this.
Leave them alone!! Damn Perez making fun of Tom is getting old!
Tom Cruise is hogging the tetas, so all she gets is the bottle.
YES!!!! it is. Must be special Xenu juice!
The poor thing is raised by Xenu nannies who don't give a shit about her. They are in it for the dough! The parents' tote her around like a Louis Vuitton bag and i actually feel sorry for her b/c she is no different than Britney's kids. They are all orphans raised by Jamaican nannies for 8 bucks an hour. Cheap bastards!
yes. she should be on the boob, not the bottle!
Funny you should mention it. I saw the picture the other day of her with a bottle and thought it was time to pull the bottle or at least work on it. Could be worse though…she could still be running around with a pacifier in her mouth. After a year old it is time to get rid of the plug. That to me is by far the worst. I hate seeing toddlers with pacifiers, because their parents are to lazy to stop it at a decent age, yet you see 4 year olds occasionally with them..ughh
It's perfectly normal for a child this young to possibly still use a bottle. This is just my opinion, I hope they stop her with the bottles and start her on a sippy cup before she is 3 yrs old. I know from my parents telling me, I used a bottle til I was about 2 1/2 yrs old then I started using sippy cups. Maybe the bottles are her security thing just like some kids have a security blanket or stuffed animal. Suri is a normal 2 yr old, she will stop using the bottle soon, I am sure.
Maybe she uses the bottle when they leave the house. My 2yr old does (or something that doesnt spill) But in the house, she uses a regular cup!! This child isnt strange for having a bottle. I got 3 kids, they gave up the bottle at different ages, and they all turned out just fine ( and NO dental problems)!!!!!!
hey perez, you need to lay off the comments about kids, stupid ass.
My sister drank one till she was 5 yrs !!! As long as mom and dad let her she will keep on drinking,I tell you what I bet she is not potty trained !
Yes, too old. Pediatritions recommend weaning at 1
You, very obviously don't have kids, it's completly normal
Finally!!!! Thanks Perez, I've been thinking that for the longest.
THANK YOU! i have been thinking this for awhile, I am a nanny and that is about a year too old to have a bottle!!!
Well, since Scientologists don't tell their kids NO, I guess she will be on it forever!
For all you idiots out there…No it is not fine for a 2 year old to still have a bottle. The American Association of Pediatrics says that children should be off the bottle by 1. She probably still uses a pacifier too.
I think they are too busy (LAZY) to work with her. I am sure this isn't her only issue. Sad.
Nahhh..it's fine. Leave her alone.
I was wondering when someone was going to bring that up. I have been seeing her pics in magazines and wondering why she was still drinking from a bottle. My baby will be 2 next week and she still drinks milk but NOT from a bottle!!
Two is WAY too old….I mean gesh, you just take it off them! They will throw a temper for a while….but they'll eventually adjust and get over it. I think sometimes some people give their kids a bottle longer because they don't have it in them for the fight when it's time to take it away.
YES!! i think this everytime i see a picture of her with a bottle. my boy is the same age as her and he was "late" giving it up at 15 months……and even then he only took it at night with bed. and now only drinks from a sippy cup if we are in the car or running around playing. but usually drinks from a regular cup.
PEREZITO, WHY NOT TALK ABOUT HOW SURI'S HAIR IS A DIFFERENT COLOR THAN IT USED TO BE!!!!!
come on!!! post some pics…….
i find it pretty ridiculous considering both my children were off a bottle before 1. BUT then i see kids that are say 4 years old still walking around with pacifiers and their parents think its perfectly fine.
THANK YOU! I've been wondering this for soooo long.
NOT AT ALL…. ITS FINE!!!
Bottles are until you learn to drink from a cup. She's old enough to drink from a cup. This doesn't apply to everyone, so don't flame me, but I've found that some people don't take the bottle away 'cuz they don't want to put up with a screaming kid.
um no.
have kids. then talk.
Let them raise her as they see fit.
I'm pretty sure its their kid.
I effing love Perez. =]
this reminded me of your babies….
haha… love u.
kh.
YES, my son was off the bottle at 8 months!
I know someone who is 4 and still getting a bottle. And still not potty trained either. Slacker parents and no preschool with out both gone.
my dd was on the bottle for 3 years
Woah…. I noticed that in another pic. Absolutely too old. One uear is when they are supposed to be done with the bottle. Maybe its a Scientology thing? Not to upset the baby?
Yes, But I guess Mommy and Daddy have enough money to fix her teeth when they could rot unless they keep water in it they they only have to worry about buck teeth. Shame beautiful kid
As the mother of a child was born on the same day as Suri, and happens to be a preschool director, yes!!! A doctor will tell you how bad this is for their teeth at this age! I think it's disgusting that someone with so much money does not have common sense. Oh wait, he never even graduated high school did he?
NOOOO it is fine, and anyways it isn't for you all to decide that, it is up to the parents!!!
Personally, 2 is way too old, but some *cough* spoiled or rich or just spoiled or just careless *cough* *cough* parents/kids allow their children to drink until they "are ready" to give it up.
Slow news day, Perez??
Perez… It's slow news week for u isn't it??? U probably drank a bottle till u were like 5!! so stop asking stupid nonsense questions and leave the kids alone!!!! How would u feel if u were straight and ever had kids and somebody was saying things about ur kid and posting in a blog so the whole world can see it!!! ur an Idiot! Go suck on Madonnas tit!!!!
Yeah, it's time for the sippy cup.
Hmmm… at least it's not bags of chips and other junk food like Brangie's kids are always carrying.
PEREZ! it's fine. get in the now. no big deal. she's 2, not 20.
No, its not too old. World-wide, children nurse well beyond the 2 year mark, it is only in the US that we rush to 'wean' children from being on bottles, pacifiers or the breast. I know that people tend to look at 2 year olds (and even younger) as a "little kid" but the fact is, she's still a baby… its not hurting anyone, just leave it be.
No!!
apparenyly babies "shouldn't" have a bottle past 18 months…or its advised to stop doing that.
WTF, all of gods children are different, maybe its time for you to get weened off the cock, chubby
common i know of soo many mothers that breast fed their kids up unitll 2 !
Re: Judi – I bet its something to do with scientology's concept of not allowing negative or chaos around a child. Like the quiet births are to avoid the child from experiencing any negative or chaotic energy. I bet that is it b/c yes, EVERY pediatrician will agree that by 12 months babies sould be weaned.
YES. She should be drinking out of a sippy cup at least.
But Perez, don't you remember how Tom said shes allowed to do whatever she wants since shes a poor little scientology kid? Not to mention his only biological child. Anyone knows hes going to treat her like a queen.
I'm sure she'll be walking across the stage at her high school graduation with a bottle and diaper.
Someone needs to save that poor little girl.
Wow. Why does she still have a bottle? Prob some of that scientology bs
they probably keep her sucking on the bottle so xenu won't enter her soul.
You're just being glib, Perez!
Isn't it weird for Perez to be sucking on other guys dicks? Men + Women. Not Men + Men.
well she should be drinking from a form of sippy cup , n she prob is we jsut dont know it ..plus a bottle is more easy for travel but some children even up to the age four will still drink from a bottle
Drinking from a bottle after the age of 2 is linked to childhood obesity and tooth decay. She is plenty old enough to have a sippie cup or even regular cup.
YES. 2 years old is too old for a godamn bottle!! Anyone who has a child, and has taken them to a Dr. would know that!!! Next time you're in the store, take a look at the packages of sippy cups.. most of them start at like 7+ months.
everyone develops at their own rate I wouldn't worry til she is like late 3 or so….. besides who are YOU to talk about anybody sucking on anything!
she just turned 2..so they should start taking her off of it soon…and she'll have it less and less..and really, who cares.
Ummm yes…she should have been off the bottle a year ago!! KATIE (or full time nanny) - IT'S TIME FOR A SIPPY CUP PRONTO!!!!
As a mother of two, it's definitely time to give it up!!
mommy!mommy!
daddy's in my playroom playing hide the wiener with uncle travolta
and a big fat black woman is eating all the cupcakes.waaaaaah!!
Wait…. Scientology might not approve the sippy cup….
Yes, my baby's doc said it should be gone by 12 months.
Thank goodness someone finally said it! She is way too old to be using a bottle. Katie and Tom constantly talk about how smart and advanced Suri is, then she should be able to use a sippy or cup. She can paint and have tea parties in a cave under the stairs but she can't use a sippy cup!
YES!! Any pediatrician will tell you they recommend children be switched to cups as soon as 1 year. My daughter was using a cup/sippy/straw right around 1 year old.
Two years old is was too old to be drinking from a bottle. She needs to have a sippy cup or other alternitive. It seems every time I see a photo of her she has a damn bottle of milk in her hand!
yes it is, your supposed to take the bottle away at about 12 months…
hello, bottle goes at one and then you introduce them to a sippy cup
Yup. Too old by about a year.
No it's not too old. Leave Suri alone.
"In the United States, children are commonly bottle-fed from birth or weaned within a few months. But in some societies, children as old as four or five years may still be nursed.
The American Academy of Pediatrics currently advises breast-feeding for a minimum of one year (this may be revised upward), and the World Health Organization recommends two years or more. "
I am a pediatrician. My teenage daughter asked me to respond. Yes, doctors often will advise parents to wean their children from the bottle at a year (if the child ever used a bottle and that is the parents' desire), but there are no actual problems related to continuing with a bottle. None at all.
who says they have to be off the bottle by one? no doubt the parents of kids who don't drink a lot of milk but fill their kids with pop and juice.
Perez, you are Cuban..so that means that most likeley you were sucking on a pacifier and drinking out of a bottle till you were in the 3rd grade. It is very common among us.
You know what? A baby is only a baby once and if they are comforted by a bottle, and lord knows she needs comfort being chased by paparazzi, then so be it!!!! I love this website, but think that you could find something a little better to write about then a two year old. Just because her parents are famous makes her no different then any other baby and picking on them because of their parents celebrity status is just cruel!
That child should have been on a sippy cup before she turned one. I want to grab that bottle every time I see a picture of her with one!!
When you are 2 and surrounded by crazy screaming paps, I think you deserve something to get you through the day! A normal 2 year-old, no. Suri, she's earned it.
What's that in her bottle? Formula? Cow's milk? Breast milk? Inquiring minds want to know, what does Suri drink? Who cares what she's drinking it out of, what is it that she's drinking?
It is full of Xenu juice. Bottles at this age are usually signs of a lazy parent.
I am so glad somebody said it, she is way to old to still have that thing.
Re: dr joan – Well, that is just an outright lie, and you are not a pediatrician. I am not a pediatrician, but, DR, there can be many ramifications from drinking from a bottle…from day one…you are so not a doctor, least of all a pediatrican to give a blanket statement such as you did. Wow, I forgot, I am a rocket scientist and my child just got me for advice on this …um….don't stand by the rocket kids.!!!!!!!!!!!!Asshole.
Nah. My mom said I used bottles until I was three. Then she had me give them to the "bottle fairy". I really found out they were given to my aunt who at the time was pregnant with my cousin.
Re: elyse – idiot kids are transitioned to solids before they are one year old, they get table food full time when they turn one….NOT TWO……yes she's too damned old for a freakin bottle get a clue tomkat
She should TOTALLY be off the bottle by now - hello Scientology! Dependency much?
yes she should be on the sippy cup
If she were being raised correctly she would have been breastfed and never had a bottle at all. Tom is such a prig about drugs and yet he lets his daughter drink crappy formula…SHAME ON YOU TOM AND KATIE!!!
HELL YA thats to old for a bottle. She should have been off the bottle at 12 months. She should be drinking out of a sippy cup now… What does people with cameras following them have to do with her bottle habits…. Nothing!! Thats Tom and Katie being lazy and using it as a control tactic….
PS. She'll have bad teeth….not all baby teeth fall out. The dental work is painful and scary to a child. Some baby teeth even get root caneled and have to have crowns put on them.
Thank you soooo much for posting this!! I've been thinking the same thing!!
NO! It's not too old at all. Most babies in the REST of the world are still NURSING at this age. She JUST turned 2 a few weeks ago too. What is with the push to make kids grow up so damned fast?! She's having milk in a bottle, get over it!
haha…are you kidding? babies switch to solids at 6 months…They should be eating a well balanced diet by the age of two…
As long as she's not drinking all her drinks from a bottle, no it's not too old to be sucking on a bottle. Most children her age prefer milk in a bottle and other drinks in a cup. She's 2 years old, not 5 years old. If she's still sucking on the bottle at 3 then worry until then let her be.
BAWWWW LEAVE THE POOR KID ALOOOONE
/wahmbulance
It's too old. Her poor teeth are going to be all fucked up.
My aunt was letting her kid suck from the teet until "he was ready", and he was still at it when he was six. I'm never going to let him live it down. Muwaha.
Uh…..Hell….yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, it is too old to be still on the bottle. I did that with my son too and he ended up with a horrendous overbite and needed major orthodontic care to fix it. But that's okay, they can afford it.
Why are they using latex nipples and not silicone? Latex breaks down faster and harbors bacteria more easily. not to mention the chalky texture as well as latex allergies. She really needs to get off the bottle….but just like the Leah Remini situation, Suri will be manipulating her parents to get whatever she wants. What will that be like in a few years?!!!
Not at all it is recommended that babies nurse until two years old. You obviously don't know anything about children. You are not ready to be a mother.
WAY TO OLD!!! My son is 18 months and drinks out of cups already, but he does drink a bottle at night sometimes. I have 4 children altogether, and my other 3 did not drink a bottle past thier first birthday! They need to toss those bottles out!
For crying out loud… its a 2 year old child for chrissakes…who still likes her bottle… with all of the horrible things happening in this world… this would rate at the bottom of the bucket of importance. Get over it!
