this event is meant to be a night where the most cutting-edge haute couture is displayed - and by its very intent, haute couture is meant to be obscure and radical. hence this remains a perfect example of why anna wintour is the most powerful woman in the fashion industry. this dress is stunning and comletely pushes the boundaries. unlike the other disasters which were donned. as you so rightly put it perez, it is not only inappropriate but a complete insult to wear a strapless, plain, black dress a la sarah michelle gellar. maybe her intention was to be the villain of the evening?
